He paid his debt to society. He is allowed to make a living. I just hope it is not at the expense of the Athletics.
With all due respect, Dickie has faced MLB batters before and has won a Cy Young. Bush hasn't faced anyone above AA and spent the past 3 years in prison. He mowed down three of the most feared batters in baseball in his debut, I personally think that's pretty impressive.
Oh, I'm not taking anything away from the kid. He took out the heart of the order a powerful offence. Impressive indeed.
Dickie and his knuckleball are incredible. Bush was in jail because he hit and run while intoxicated and on a suspended license and a 70 year old man and ran over his head. The old man lived but Bush has a history and got a 51 month jail term. Dickie was impressive. Bush was phenomenal last night. That was some nasty stuff.
With my (First place!) Mariners playing the Angels, I got to watch their games this weekend. I could've passed. Twice, their newly minted closer came in with leads in the 9th. His line: 2 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 5 R and 2 L. That's kind of exactly the opposite of a closer.
Not sure why the gif won't load. Works in the preview for me but not after I post the message. Here is the link to the punch https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-medi...ogressive,q_80,w_800/dzytltukqx096x7lbsyd.gif
Bautista drew back to punch. Rougie has fast hands. Faster than Bautista, to be sure, and after a dirty slide...never shoulda dropped his guard. Rougie will be suspended and I'll miss his feisty little ass. But everyone knows that Odor isn't one to bow up to. Now Bautista knows it for sure. I wish Beltre would've let go of him tho.
Glad to see Matt Bush is already making new friends. And Bryce Harper wants to get rid of baseball's unwritten rules to make the game fun? I dunno...that was pretty fun. This is also far from over after Fielder got plunked as soon as shit got calmed down and the game resumed. I've got to hand it to Joey Bats after the game though: "I was pretty surprised," Bautista said. "I mean, obviously, that's the only reason that he got me, and he got me pretty good, so I have to give him that. It takes a little bit bigger man to knock me down."
He's full of shit. NOBODY who's been two hand pushed by a man is surprised when they bow back up, draw back their fist, and are met with a follow up right hook. NO DAMN BODY. Odor communicated hard that keep pushing, he's gonna take matters into his own hands. That was really clear...two handed shove. Bautista thought he could bow up and it would be just a bunch of chest bumping noisemaking. He forgot his opponent. That's not Rougned Odor's style. Maybe someone else, maybe Elvis, mayyyyybe even Beltre. Not Odor. Come at Odor like that you better be ready to take a punch because it's going to happen. Bautista straight up underestimated Odor. Surprised? If he was surprised it's ONLY because he's been lucky thus far in life that his shitty attitude hasn't gotten his ass beat. And his bell was rung like a motherfucker.
I love how Mr. "Batflip of the century" is saying other people don't "play the game the right way"...
I didn't say that. Odor will be (and should be) suspended. Both Odor and Bautista should be suspended - Bautista for an admittedly dirty slide, and Odor for the punch. Donaldson should be suspended as well, trying to jump (literally) into the melee the way he did and meeting Rougie's fist. BUT Bautista saying he was surprised is ridiculous, and that was my point. IF he was actually surprised, it's because he's that oblivious. "Playing the game the right way" only works when it's good for Bautista. Historically, baseball has had some fairly epic bench clearing brawls. It's no new thing. It's just that a punch like that almost NEVER lands.
