Someone mentioned earlier that good looks in a male do not necessarily impact his chances of getting hired because hiring is mostly done by men. I do not think this applies. Even if you are straight, you have at least some awareness of what is attractive in your own sex. On top of that, studies have shown that humans subconsciously associate attractive individuals with desirable qualities such as intelligence, sociability, honesty, etc. Being a good looking male will only improve your chances of being hired. On a scale of 1 to 10, from what others have told me, I am either a 7 or 8. However, in my experience, my looks really haven't helped me all that much. I am shy, nerdy, and I don't particularly care for everyday social encounters. I am a text book introvert. I think that good looks are only really useful if you have the proper social foundation to capitalize on them, or if you just want to carry on with random hook ups.
