I don't understand how somebody can watch the thing launch with a continuous video, see this, and still think the Earth is flat.
Ol' Elon flinging 23 more Starlink satellites into space today. It's still so cool to watch how much fuel is burning to get that thing into space, and then so cool watch the reusable rocket land upright on a freaking platform just floating in the ocean. Like, we can just do that now. What do you think some of the people working at NASA in the mid 60's think about that? (the ones that are still alive, obvs) Do you think some of the just-out-of-college dudes were spitballing at lunch, just laughing and making up improbable things were like, "haha, yeah and what if we just landed the booster on a platform in the ocean?! hahaha" And, they were just all doubled over laughing then.
It's absolutely amazing... I just wish it wasn't Elon right now. He's more and more becoming a delusional retard, so I like to think that SpaceX is busy doing all this shit while he's off fucking up Tesla and X. I heard someone call him a Pigeon CEO... he just shows up and shits all over everything. SpaceX is rocking it big time, and I love it.
My dog’s daycare celebrated Space Day today. I get pics of Zoe by end of week. It will be interesting to see how that goes.
Boeing Starliner launch to the ISS livestream. Given Boeing's recent track record, I'm not gonna go get my sons to watch this one with me
Just in case, like me, you keep seeing articles talking about the upcoming "Parade of Planets" on June 3, I wanted to let you down easy so you don't get too hyped: https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamiec...nes-rare-planetary-alignment/?sh=505dbe1460fa
Starliner crew still stuck. Anybody following this? https://www.space.com/starliner-astronaut-mission-landing-delay-july-2024
Yeah. I have yet to hear anyone talk about the contingency plan, but you have to think SpaceX are prepping a rescue mission to be on standby.
Yeah. Or, maybe they can use the ISS Lifeboat or something at some point. Or, maybe the Chinese have something that could swing by and get them.
At least they have more time to do some space walks. Oh… wait…. https://www.castanet.net/news/World/493943/NASA-calls-off-spacewalk-after-spacesuit-water-leak
Shhhh. You don’t think Boeing monitors everything? They probably have a “problem solver” parked in front of your house now. NOTHING is happening. Everything is fine.
Just got a rep from @Clutch saying that the part that failed is not required for the return, and would just get burned up on reentry anyway, and they're just taking more time in order to study the failure more. Makes sense.
