Not a breakthrough or anything, but interesting. Ruins of the Soviet space shuttle left abandoned in the Kazakh steppe
I love all the phrases in that article like If there aren't terrorist groups and other bad actors that have their hands on nuclear weapons that somebody "somehow" lost track of, I would be stunned.
This is awesome. SpaceX just sent some resupply stuff to the ISS. This video is a remarkable summary of how they are reusing stuff that used to just burn up. You can skip ahead to about 18:00 minutes, and watch the main engine cutoff, separation of stages, and then watch it turn around and land on the pad at the Cape at about 24:00 minutes. Just amazing.
I will NEVER bet against Elon. Fuck the government... it's guys like him and Gates that are actually bettering society.
Celebrities like him I would vote for if they ran for office. They’re too rich to need more money, so now they want to make everyone else’s life better. And they put in the fucking work, and they’re ACTUALLY smart, not celebrity smart. Make Musk President, and Anthony Bourdain will handle foreign affairs.
Those are brilliant ideas. Except for the fact that, as a Canadian, you can't vote for US President. Oh, and the fact that since Musk was born in South Africa, he can't be US President. Other than that, gold.
Never mind the fact that him being in any kind of iffice would basically halt or kill what he’s trying to accomplish.
Perhaps, but what's His “team” like? I doubt he’s the type of person to staff his inner circle with dogfuckers. In the end, he’s best left doing his sciencey-stuff. If he builds that crazy rocket-sled system under L.A. it might give me a reason to visit that city.
The launch delay works for me....trying to finish up work so that I can geek out on the launch. Pretty exciting.
You beat me to it... THAT WAS FUCKING AMAZING! The "don't panic" was an awesome touch. How can you not just love Elon?!?!?
Wondering what happened with the landing on the drone ship.... Glad I was able to watch this. I have a feeling this will be one of those things I tell my kids about "yeah I remember where I was when..."
When he's just hanging out on the deck having a beer, or when he's in a planning meeting and he's having thoughts like, let's do this: And, then there are dudes working on showing the earth is actually flat. I just . . . I mean, are we sure they are the same species?
