Where we camped last night. 10 years ago this point was about 75 feet underwater. Those hills in thew background were about 40 feet under. Where we were sleeping and where the Mexicans decided to park this morning. (See Rant & Rave.) The stripers the Mexicans gave in offering to appease the angry, cursing white devil. And finally, a truck I saw at a gas station. I just really dig this thing.
I put on electrical gloves to do maintenance, (I hate these stupid safety regulations. I'm more likely to get zapped by a cell phone than these things) turned around, and there was my friend with the camera. Fuck it. Radios are in the dark corner behind me. Well, at least the receivers are. The transmitters are to my left.
A couple of weeks ago, my friend and I were out watching a local band and there was a group of girls there for a bachelorette party. I've seen all the stupid penis straws, pacifiers, etc. but I'd never seen a giant blow up penis. My friend decided to get her picture taken with it.
reminded me that we had a swarm at work the other week. Spoiler Spoiler Showed up in a black cloud of buzzing, hung out for a day and then just up and left in another swarm towards the light rail station.
I hate these things. I call them pedophile stickers. But this one confounds me. Is that baby floating? Like... it's a dead baby?
Afterburner looks way different in person than it does on a s.hitty cellphone camera. When you're there yourself you can see perfect rings (diamonds on some, other shapes can occur too depending on the engine and shape of the exhaust) inside the flame. Cool thing is you an literally go up to the exhaust nozzle on that jet and touch it and it will be cool to the touch while in operation.
I was at a warehouse we rent space in this morning and I looked over and asked the Foreman, "Is that a plane in there?" He tells me, "Yeah, it's a B-17 they found in Greenland, restored it and donated it to the WWII Museum. They're doing a few things to it here before they ship it downtown, you want to go in?" He didn't finish the word "in" before he was talking to a cloud of vapor I moved so fast, broken foot and all, to get inside this thing. Anyway, the pictures are lousy, but that's the view out of the cockpit and the whole plane in 4 pieces. Seriously cool.
There aren't too many details. I went skydiving for the first time. It was pretty rad, here are some photos. Before the jump (I'm on the left, me and my buddy Jon went to celebrate his getting out of the Army) Spoiler During the jump Spoiler After the jump Spoiler
