Maybe next time a little more than a few days notice would be nice. I'm not bitter or anything...assholes... Have fun. It's supposed to be in the 80's on Friday and rooftop parties never disappoint. I also agree with iczorro, in focus pictures this time!
WHY CAN'T YOU PEOPLE STAY ON TOPIC. We need a venue. Those attending, start suggesting and voting. We are only two days away!
My tangents are always awesome. I think it was very important to discuss which Mean Girl all of us would be. As I've stated, I really just want to be outside, so my official vote, then, is for my general neighborhood. I looked for bars with backyards in Manhattan and couldn't find anything appealing. Franklin Park, Hot Bird, Washington Commons, and Bar Sepia all have backyards, and are within walking distance from my roof if people are interested in ending up there at some point in the night. There's also other options sans backyards, too. I also know of a bunch of places in Williamsburg with drinking outside arrangements, if there are people amongst you all who are afraid of any other part of Brooklyn. But, again, I'm not going to throw a tantrum if we wind up somewhere inside like normal city-dwellers.
I think the obvious choice here is to pregame on the roof, and then check out any bars in stumbling distance. I vote we all bring a cool six pack or something, then we can share them and learn about beers at the same time! And a good six pack costs basically the same as two drinks at a bar.
Nom says what I was going to say! Do you live in Williamsburg Audrey? Slash I remember laughing so hard when somebody I know from LA was afraid of going to Williamsburg because they were afraid, as it's in SCARY ASS-Brooklyn.
No, I live in the Crown Heights area that's turning into Prospect Heights but isn't officially part of it yet. Someone was scared of Williamsburg? If you can't afford to live there, you shouldn't be scared. At least they weren't complaining about how far away it was, when it could take less time to get there than another neighborhood in Manhattan. (Same goes for my neighborhood. It's so annoying.) Also, I'm glad you're embracing your role as Karen. It seems like a plan is forming. Until anyone vehemently objects, I'm going to message everyone directions to my house. If someone wants to come that wasn't in our original PM session, let me know so I can send them to you as well.
Are people actually attracted to Amanda Seyfreid? Edit:: I'm on board for the idea of a NYC meetup this time around..
More on topic: We should probably pick a bar and a time that we're going to be going to said bar after Audrey's place, as I'm more than willing to be a few of these guys would probs be a little more comfortable meeting in a public place than your house. It would work best being somewhere in Manhattan, seeing as getting around Brooklyn inside of Brooklyn is terrible. I got a few in mind but maybe somewhere Union Square-ish area? Seems central enough.
There are those places within walking distance, which I thought was the plan. I was probably going to suggest Franklin Park since it's the biggest, and I hate going into small bars in big groups. It's on the 4, which is really easy to get to from Manhattan if that's where they're coming from. Would everyone else want to go to Brooklyn and then back to Manhattan? That seems like unnecessary traveling for everyone, but if not Union Square would probably be the best general area. It's quick and easy to get to from here
Yeah, I was just thinking of everyone else who are "maybes" who would be good to meet. If those people piped in with their opinions we'd be able to decide a little easier.
I mean I like that because I live in Manhattan but other than that, yes that is unnecessary traveling.
