Yea, but before you know it, she will say, "Daddy, I love you." And then you may cry. Like a little boy.

Later, she will ask you for things, like, "Daddy, come wash my hair?" Over and over. Or "Daddy, can you make me something to eat?" Or, "Daddy, can you fix my hair?" Over and over.

Someday, she will stop asking for these things, and you will wish she would.

What you think are going through now is not a challenge or burden but a gift.

Little girls turn boys into men.

The only things I can think of are that if she has a clause in her license that she can't see alcoholics and drug seekers, she

    a) is a lying sack of shit, or
    b) has been too lenient with the narcotics in the past and has had her narcotic prescribing privileges revoked

And, what do you know, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta doesn't list any restrictions on her license. We have our answer.

Being more reasonable about it, she speaks hindi, pakistani, urdu and punjabi. It's probably a religious thing. I hate to be that guy, but take it up with the college if you're so inclined. Being denied service is bad enough, but being lied to about it violates more than a few tenets of this document which the CPSA uses as its code of ethics.

So I go out tonight, and immediately hit it off with the girl sitting next to me at the bar. I don't think I'm misreading the interest at all; she's actively keeping the conversation going. I've had enough girls try to bail from a conversation that I know when it's happening. It's not happening here, she's trying to keep it going. If I get up to pee, and when I come back you're eagerly wanting to tell me your response to Season 2 of Game of Thrones, you know, I take that as a sign that you want to talk to me rather than just not knowing how to get rid of the overly aggressive creeper.

Then last call comes, and it's like bizzaro world. "Oh, my friend found two guys, so I have to go, bye."

    That's it. What the fuck?

Right, so we have someone who has a condition that is affecting her work and home life in a negative manner. One which causes her to have panic attacks and this could be a life altering affliction. She is unwilling to go to a hospital, where she knows she wil get the help she needs because she thinks it will slow the very system that has been implemented to help her.

Take a step back for a second and read that as if it was someone else telling you this story. I'm willing to bet the first thing you would tell her is to go to the hospital and get this figured out the right way. It's also quite possible that when you do find a clinical doctor to see you, they would book you to a specialist to figure out what's going on. Cut out that slow step and go somewhere where they can get things started for you.

Too much talk about Anderson Cooper, Little Richard, Chris Isaak, etc. Time to man it up a bit.

I'm not going to link all the responses to my doctor angst. Ghetto, I trust you and I saw her face as she closed her laptop on me. She lied. I had to look for a doc because I haven't bothered busy people with my minutea. I've been healthy. I've lost 30 lbs. in the last year because I knew the little crap bothering me would be taken care of by losing extra weight. She treated me like an addict looking for a fix. Until 2 weeks ago I'd never had anything stronger than Toradol (after locals to remove melanoma).

Primer, I still can't justify taking away time from urgent care for this. Yes, it's ruining my world, but our system should be able to handle this. It's not every day. If I get local care, we should deal with it without me being a prima donna attention seeker.

In the latest news, wine fixes all. Can somebody put my laundry in the dryer?

So far, it's been a pretty good day:

    Higgs-Boson discovered.
The Oatmeal (one of my favorite comic sites) "won" their lawsuit.
ACTA was definitively defeated in Europe.

And in a surprise relief, mermaids don't exist, the US government said so: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18692830" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18692830</a>

Today might be my last day in The South for a long time, so I'm doing it right: homemade biscuits for breakfast, barbecue for lunch and dinner.
