Rave: had a baby! She’s healthy and cute and wonderful. And kind of a champ at eating already despite being a little early. Rant: Unplanned c section after 30 hrs of labor and 4 hours of pushing without an epidural (because I’m scared of them). Also rant: hiccups through ALL of it.
Rant: The car shipper was supposed to drop the car off today (that's after the initial pickup was delayed by several days). I confirmed it over the phone 2 days ago that drop off would be TODAY. I called again today since the window of time for delivery was closing. I learned that apparently he had a detour to Spokane and won't be here til tomorrow! I have an all day event Friday and Saturday. This is fucking bullshit.
Rave I had an appointment with my pulmonologist today and I’m proud to announce that that I’m still reaching new heights and setting personal records. I’ve achieved all time highs in weight and blood pressure. Like Benjamin Franklin, Betty White and Grandma Moses, I continue to excel at an advanced age. I rewarded myself with a double espresso and a couple of new tins of cigars. Here’s to the future!
Rant: I was asked by many neighbors to get with Wildlife Resources department and have our cove established as a no wake zone. Support for it is pretty overwhelming, with only about 25% against it. Man, some of those against are some very vocal assholes. They live in a little side cove, not as affected by wake. They absolutely do not give a shit how big a beating all others docks and boats take every year, if it means they will have to go slowly for 8 minutes before they can hammer down, and 8 minutes when they return home. I needed a reminder of how much I hate people.
RAVE: My FIL has been here the last two weekends to help me installs doors, baseboards and trim. Made serious progress and got enough done to have the carpet installed later this week. RAVE/RANT: Dude is super particular so the work looks great but damn, we're not working on the Taj Mahal here. It doesn't need to be *that* perfect. That's why God invented caulk. RANT: Now that I've been working again, I like the weekends to kick back and relax but can't go all Misanthropic garage night when you have to "work" the next day and your FIL is staying at your house.
Rant: After years of pleading at my job they finally give me a new position to cut my teeth on. First assignment is email blast a client list an updated sales extension. Within the list were a number shaded not to email. My filtering and copy paste skills failed me and I emailed blast all of the ones I wasn’t supposed to email. I just emailed the main sales rep who handles the account and the sale VP, who had pushed for me to get the new role, about it but haven’t heard back. I’m crossing my fingers it’s not a big deal but we’ll see. Horrible tripping right out of the gate like this.
Rave: looks like I get to participate in my local farmers market this summer. Last year I had to go a couple towns over to a crappy market. There's new management on the local spot and I think the previous manager did things the same way every year and was prickly to deal with. No more of that!
RANT: I'm getting some nerve issues in my fingers. It's not any kind of neuropathy based on sugar issues or diabetes or anything, as I'm just fine on that front. 2 different specialist appointments later and there's still no reason why it's happening, only some meds to try and help with the pain/sensations. It really sucks for playing the guitar or typing, and is starting to have an impact. I'm more than a little worried about this, especially since my sister has MS.
On the plus side, you'll be able to give yourself a "stranger" anytime you want. Seriously though. That sucks and hope they figure it out.
Biopsies, CT scans, nerve issues... Jesus we're getting old around here. Hope everything comes back benign.
Hey! Me too! 100% not joking, had it done yesterday. Only I’ve never had it(knock on wood….) so it wouldn’t be “more” for me. That sucks man, hopefully everything is well.
Rave: Happy birthday to me. Picked this up for a song. I'm looking forward to getting out there on this. The trailer needs work, but it made it to my house.
