Rave: The unintentional irony and lack of self-awareness of this board can be highly entertaining sometimes.

Rant: we got a call from my wife's mother. She had to call from one of her friends' phones. She is coming out in a month for a 2 month visit, and she doesn't think she will be returning to the US.

Why couldn't she just call from home? My wife's dad has started controlling every aspect of her life since he got a new kidney. He cut her off from control of money, forced her to go to AA because she would drink a bottle of wine over 3-4 days and "it cost too much". If he saw she was calling us without including him he would flip a shit.

It sucks. He used to be such a generous person, but he is now a bitter, greedy, old man.

Rave: I have an Irish Wolfhound, German Shepherd mix, Newfie mix and a little terrier with a badass Mohawk at my house all this weekend. I kinda almost wish someone tries to break in tonight.

RAVE: Fear of a Black Planet motherfuckers. 8 hours and I get to see Public Enemy. A few other cool bands at the festival as well but not a bad excuse to get out of doing shift work for the day.

MASSIVFE RAVE: Public Enemy were fucking awesome. Flava Flav can slap a base and DJ Lord was unbelievably fast on those turntables.

Rant: Other bands were not too bad but the rock apes and dirty underage skanks everywhere were fucking annoying as hell.

Neither a rant nor rave, but god damn, I wasn't mentally prepared for New Orleans. This place is fucking awesome. I want to say thanks to some of the TiB members that gave me recommendations of what to check out while I was here. I really appreciate it. I'll be back for sure. With more money this time. Haha.

Rant: Sister in laws younger brother managed to smash the car he was driving, killing his passenger and mashing himself in the process. The little champ is currently in an induced coma with a swag of fractures, perforated organs and all the other fun stuff that comes from being spat out of a car as it returns to its base elements at speed.

Booze and drugs expected to be found in his system.

My brother had him under his roof for a year until they had to ask him to leave, the drinking, drugs and asshole behaviour were getting out of hand and there was no end in sight. Well outside of what’s just happened anyway.

    Side story:

A couple of years ago we took him to Bali with us, he was 21. Prat bought what he thought was coke from a local in a back alley then took it back to our villa. They shoot people for that kind of shit in Indonesia. So numbnuts had exposed us all to the potential of the death penalty or at best several years in a very nasty place, My brothers and I wanted to beat the shit out of him, a lot, sister in law saved him from this richly deserved lesson. He started out smug then literally started crying when he realized we were serious about the beating. Can’t help but think that a re-tuning might have done him some good. Some kids need to be taught with old fashioned negative reinforcement.

When the real world eventually teaches that lesson it doesn’t stop when it’s thinks you’ve had enough.

Rant: First girl I met up here turned out to be crazy and an alcoholic and had two kids.

Rave: Met a very cool girl this past week. We hung out together the whole weekend. She seems stable, not crazy, can support herself, and I like being around her. So far, so good, and I know I said that about the last one. Hopefully this turns into something good. She even came to see me while I was working the air show, I like.
Rave: She has a dog. I can play with the dog whenever I want. Said dog has a lot of energy since the girl works nights at the ER, so play turns into wrestle. I haven't been able to wrestle with a dog in a while.

Rant: Hell week at work begins tomorrow. 8 flights in three days and some crazy complicated briefs.

Rant: My best friends dad has prostate cancer. This is the friend I have to thank for introducing me to my girlfriend and I've known the family since elementary school so it's tough news.

Rant/Rave: I'm skipping a match next weekend to help them move to a different house in town. My dad and his son (my buddy) will be out of town, so it's my turn to man up. Missing a competition was not in my plans for this summer but there is no way in hell I'm not gonna be there to lend a hand (and my back).

Rave: I had a phenomenal weekend with my girlfriend. We had lots of relaxing time together and the sexy time keeps getting better. She also very luckily missed severe weather on her drive home yesterday.

Rave: As of yesterday she has lost over 20 lbs. since February and had another 4.0 semester in grad school. Holy shit, right?

    We even played with fire.

Rant: I knew my stress was legitimate. My boss is broke. Who has ever heard of a broke insurance agent owner?! This is a first for me... This is fucking bullshit.

Rant: Because the boss is broke, it is time to switch to a new job.

Rave: New boss, new office, same company. So far, my boss thinks I am his new, shining, star. I hope it stays like that.

Rant: I am still so fucking stressed about this. I hate change. I hate feeling insecure.

I played in a Wiffle Ball tournament on Saturday. It was bad ass. I'm pretty sad we didn't win. The fields we were playing on backed up to a highway. The president was in town to give a speech. His motorcade passed down the highway while we were playing. I like to think that the president watched me play Wiffle Ball. Since it was Cinco De Mayo, I made a huge igloo cooler full of margaritas for the team. It kicked off the holiday right. I also played 18 holes of golf on Sunday. Daytime drinking rocks.

Rant: Two days of being outside drinking all day has taken it's toll on my body. I have a bad sunburn and 0 energy today. It's not really a hangover. It's just a feeling of blah. And showers hurt.

Rant: I keep having these two recurring stress dreams and I have no idea where they're coming from because I'm generally neither stressed nor sad these days. In fact, things are overall really good. So somehow that makes the dreams even more upsetting and I'm always sad when I wake up from them and can't shake them throughout the day. They're both really heavy-handed in symbolism and obviously mean something, but I can't figure out what they're supposed to mean or why I keep having them whatsofuckever. It really bothers me.

Rant: They usually don't strike in the same night, but last night I had both of them right in a row. They transitioned really seamlessly from one to the other. So I was already upset when I woke up. Then, during my morning Facebook check, the first thing on my newsfeed is that my first boyfriend is now engaged. I use the term "boyfriend" lightly, and I have had zero feelings for him or have even barely thought about him for many years now, but it was still a strange way to wake up, especially since one of the two dreams is relationshipy. This was the weirdest way to start the day and the week.

Rant: The DJ for our wedding is avoiding us like the plague. We have less than 30 days until we have our ceremony, and the fucking guy hasn't replied to any of our emails other than with 'I'll contact you shortly to schedule a time to meet.' a few times.

We haven't dropped him yet because his price is a helluva lot less than other DJ's we've gotten quotes from, and that one of our other friends used him with great success in the past.

Anyone DJ in the Upstate NY area?
