Her tumblr is good for a quick chuckle. She attempts to defend herself, but can't. Really, her replies are just sad. She hasn't the cognitive ability to even explain her motivation much beyond "ART LOL". Stupid little girl. Instead of blowing money throwing her in jail, make her go clean each "piece" at her own expense. http://creepytings.tumblr.com/ The few comments she does post are hilariously accurate:
She should've posted topless photos instead Lots of people are offensive and lousy artists, but her stupidity really shines through with the signing her nickname and geotagging her instagram posts. "Why yes, your honor, she did hand deliver all of this evidence to us." Though, I am sure her attorney will use the old "But, what about cave paintings?" defense.
Nice tits The percentage of nature that she "defaced" is pretty small compared to the size of the Park - I suspect most of this will blow over, and she'll end up paying a small fine and doing 16 hours of community service. Maybe. If she had posted pictures of herself in a bikini instead, all the same "outraged" internet would be messaging her with "ooh bbgrl u so hot, hit me back" or whatever. The Park budget has been cut in the past few years; maybe it's a viral campaign to generate more support and funding of them.
Re: She should've posted topless photos instead Counter-point: "Were caves nationally protected monuments ten thousand years ago, handi-tard?" She should be feasted on as prison buffet. Dyke sandwiches for all!!!
Re: She should've posted topless photos instead You can wait and see how the American criminal justice system treats hot white women who commit non violent offenses.
I know your Justice system allows you to kill one, provided you're a washed-up celebrity and she's blonde.
Re: Nice tits The National Parks officer investigating this issue popped up in the Reddit thread last night looking for any and all information about this, and said he's been assigned to this case and they are taking it very, very seriously. Tons of people were sending him screencaps of her now-deleted social media stuff, personal information, etc. I really don't think it will blow over... the media attention alone will ensure that an example is set with her.
Re: Nice tits That's exactly what I was hoping for. Did they ever punish those fat fucks who knocked over the Goblin Rock monument in Itsh?
Yosemite Special Investigator Steve Yu posting in the Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Yosemite/comme ... ns/clfvksp NPS New Release: http://home.nps.gov/news/release.htm?id=1649 Of note, from the release:
The two men from Highland were sentenced to a year of probation and ordered to pay fines and restitution, which has not yet been determined. She's like a plague on the parks.
To add to the list of reasons to dislike her, it's not like she's some "child of nature" who was raised around this, she's from New York: the epicentre of hack charlatan wannabe-artists. She never gave a shit and I'm sure will be "filled with remorse and regret" when arrested.
Re: Nice tits Every time I see someone with some form of authority use the phrase, "taking this very, very, seriously" it's a signal to me that the matter in question frankly isn't that big of deal and the mall-cop types in charge are simply using the event/occurrence as a way to make themselves feel important.
I'll be damned if this didn't make me tear up. That one man said a big "fuck you" to terrorism... and I'm happy to see that there's very little, if any, fear-mongering as a result. I'm also incredibly proud of how the Canadian media handled it... first and foremost we knew the name and character of the victim, and didn't give a shit about the terrorist who did it. We might actually be learning something from all this.
I think the most moving thing in that clip is the expression on his face. That guy is dignity personified and you can see how moved he is by the ovation.
God I wish the American media would take a lesson from all of this. I'm not going to sit here and be naive enough to think that something won't ever happen again in our country, but when it does, I hope we react like your country did by remembering and honoring the victims and this man who was the hero instead of sensationalizing the perpetrators like has happened so many times before.
Our media is constantly pumping paranoia and fear into their audiences. I mean, yes, it's important that terrorism is taken seriously and the public should get assurances that measures are being taken, but they're also playing into terrorist's hands. Worse, it's usually politicized into a cat and bait game of blame the other party within minutes of the event, and then drags on for years. See: Benghazi. It would be helpful if people realized they're about 1000x more likely to die in a car crash next year, or a dozen other ways than from terrorism. You can't ever really stop it, you can only minimize it so it'd be nice if every occurrence didn't throw people into a panic and borderline crazed accusations of the people who 'let it happen'. In some ways we really are becoming dumber than the rest of the world.
My biggest takeaway from this is that Canada has an actual government. And here I was this whole time, thinking any major disputes were resolved through hockey skirmishes. I'll be damned.
