What else am I supposed to use for comparative measurements? I have been led to understand that a banana is the universal measurement tool.
In America we measure everything in football fields. Looks like that thing is around 0.1 football fields long. She’s a beauty, that’s for sure.
I’m thinking of it, but not sure I smoke enough to justify it. I’ve got a Bradley that I just upgraded with a bigger heating element, new pid controller, and blower fan.. so that should do me for a while I think.
Since I’m running out of patio space. Big weber nat gas bbq, 22” weber charcoal with big stand, x-large big green egg, small kamodo joe, and a bradley digital smoker. I’d have to do the big concrete upgrade I’m planning first… replace the interlocking brick driveway with a tinted stamped concrete that wraps around the side of the house and ends in a new patio that is currently shitty settling patio stones.
I smoked some beef ribs today for dinner. Instead of using your typical bbq rub, I mixed up some spicy curry. Then slow smoked it with hickory at about 160°F for about 8 hours. Holy shit was it amazing. Smoky... spicy. The curry-based bark was incredibly flavourful.
Beef ribs on the smoker a while ago. Trying out a new Meat Church rub that just showed up. What do you guys do for rubs? Make your own? Pre-made? Any favourite recipes or brands you could share?
And I had to laugh… I follow this guy (Wood Whisperer) for his woodworking, but his main hobby and second channel is all about bbq. He crossed the two streams a few weeks ago for something I can relate to and appreciate. The end when he fills the final result is pretty relatable. https://youtu.be/quYxPCvunHs?si=S4g8SyCoYyO5BsWW
