I've been having a hard time wrapping my head around this whole thing. The "What the fuck?" level is off the charts as to how someone could do this shit to another person.

I heard reported on ABC news tonight that one of the girls miscarried 5 times, because this piece of shit repeatedly hit her in the stomach until she lost the babies.

They need to come up with a new punishment for this bastard. He stole a combined 30 years from these girl's lives, and filled those 30 years with rape, torture, confinement, and abuse. Life in prison would be a picnic compared to what he made those girls endure. Killing him would be over quickly and nowhere near atone for the pain and suffering he inflicted on the girls and their families.

This whole thing makes my blood boil.

As a side note, ABC showed pictures of the 6 year old girl born to one of the victims. Why in the fuck would they do that? What fucking purpose does that serve other then fucking up the poor child's life even further?

 

Because it sells advertising, you don't really think ABC gives a fuck about that kid do you?

 

No he wouldn't. It he was a white guy, the interview would have been like this:
"Well Todd, what happened"
"Well, I was walking my dog back from Starbucks and I heard screaming. I went to help, and she said she was a person who had been missing. So I gave her my iPhone, and she called the police".
"Well Todd, You did the right thing, and I am sure she and her family appreciates it. Back to Ted in the newsroom."

No one would remember him. He wouldn't be autotuned. People ran with this guy because he is a crazy sounding black man, and that amuses people. The white guy wouldn't have donation funds set up around the internet to give him money, or free macdonalds. This guy is just a modern Bojangles. A black guy who just amuses white people.

 

Exactly. It's memorable because it's interesting. Like this white dude explaining a car chase.

I would say the black guy sticks out more because he is confirming many people's preconceived notions of black people and how they act. Again, Mr. Bojangles.

I am reminded of an episode of I think Fresh Prince of Bel Air, where Will is angry because after a some event a news crew comes to a neighborhood, interviews a bunch of people, and only air the crazy black guy.

 

I don't know anything about abnormal psychology, but does anyone else think that this Castro character doesn't fit the profile you'd expect? I'd expect a narcissistic (ie at least kept up, if not a little "peacockish") raging asshole, domineering looking guy, and at least from the quick shots I've seen, this guy instead looks dumpy, passive, weak, chewing on his little collar, and eyes looking downward.

 

Exactly. He's not exactly the sort that's had a lot of success picking up the ladies. Stealing some was easier.

 

The problem with being good people is that we can't come up for fitting punishments for shit like this.

 

We need to bring tar and feathering back.

 

I was watching one of Ralphie May's stand ups lastnight and he had a bit about sending our prisoners into war instead of using our soldiers. His basic premise was that they're better at killing anyway ("and besides, you can't get PTSD from something you ENJOY doing!").

Going off that, why don't we let a commission of prisoners decide the punishment for someone like this kidnapper/rapist? Wouldn't you think people who can actually wrap their heads around evil minds, because they can somewhat relate to them, are probably the ones best positioned to determine what would be "appropriate"?

 

Seems like the media is now as interested in Charles Ramsay's decade-old domestic violence conviction as they are in the actual story. "Oh look a stereotypical funny black guy did a good thing, oh LOL he's so funny, now let's make sure no one forgets that all blacks are evil, violent animals who can only kind-of do good things by pure luck!"

Seriously, fuck the media. There is a special place in hell for journalists, pundits, and reporters.

 

What's even worse is the "redemption" narrative. Because everything in real life is always like a movie. God forbid we just say he did some fucked up things in his past, and did an awesome thing recently. Oh, no, we have to make it sound something like "Ramsay, proving that redemption is not far around the corner for any of us" or some other pedantic horseshit.

 

Why can't his narrative start at "I saw this girl yelling out the door of the house down the block"? why does it have to go any farther back than that? None of what he did in the past has any bearing on how he helped these women escape their prison.

I would fucking love to dig up the entire history of the reporters that are pulling this shit. I'm sure the public would love to hear how some Reuter's dude spent a weekend in the hospital with a Barbie stuck up his ass. Not that it has anything to do with his reporting from that point foreward.

 

Have y'all seen the courtroom video of this cocksucker? Standing there protected by a bunch of big, burly cops?

How do those cops have the self restraint to not beat the fuck out of him?

If I were one of them I would give him a beat down in front of the cameras, God, and everyone. So what if you get fired? His whole family has disowned him, so a lawsuit is unlikely and the whole fucking nation would cheer you as a hero. Do you really think he'd be out of work long? Someone, somewhere would offer him a very lucrative job for having the balls to do something like that.

As far as punishment for his crimes go, give me a case of whiskey and some think time and I'd come up with something horrifyingly appropriate.

 

Believe me, doors get left open in jail "accidently". That's how Dahmer went down. He won't have a painless stay in wherever he goes.
