By far my favorite is Gulo gulo or the Wolverine Does your favorite animal have an awesome documentary made about it? Probably not. http://video.pbs.org/video/1642358743/
Try a whole fucking week. Spoiler Carcharodon carcharias, the Great White Shark, what a fearsome and powerful animal. But seriously, the best animal ever is obviously Ursus arctos horribilis, The Grizzly Bear. Ursus Horribilis. It doesn't get much better. They can be both adorable: and fearsome: and they will even sit and have dinner with your family! Article about the above bear.
My favorite animal: Spoiler Fasticus Maximus. And: Sarcophilus harrisii Spoiler The Tasmanian Devil. The closest animal in the animal kingdom that acts like a drunken soccer hooligan.
The Chinchilla, Chinchilla brevicaudata So so so very soft. The African Grey Parrot, Psittacus erithacus I have a friend that has one... she's not nice but she's incredibly beautiful.
Since Blue Dog already took mine (the Ratel / Honey Badger), I'll go with Caracal caracal, also called... the Caracal. Ha. I saw a wildlife documentary once when a caracal leaped +- 2 metres into the air to catch a bird while the bird was flying. Holy shit.
Toxotes jaculatrix aka Archer fish These cool little guys actually spit water from below the surface to knock insects off branches above so they can eat them.
A lot of good choices, but thread is severely lacking in monkey. In picture: a Capuchin monkey, or Cebus capucinus. But really, any monkey will do. They have a sense of whimsy that I like. I appreciate any animal that could accurately be described as partaking in "shenanigans," and monkeys have shenanigans up the wazoo.
I like kitties of all shapes and sizes, but particularly Bagheeras: I'm also a big fan of koalas: And then there are these:
Panthera onca is bad ass. Plus, show me another animal on the cover of a rap CD with a big gold chain:
Actually, that's a flying squirrel. I have a pet one, and he's pretty sweet. If it was a down under exhibit, then you were actually looking at these: Spoiler For the record, flying squirrels are cooler than sugar gliders.
Without a doubt, the Western Diamondbacked Rattlesnake. I do everything I can to preserve these creatures and protect them from human persecutors, like capturing them when they wander into what has become human territory, and relocating them to wildlife refuges and game preserves. I know it's dangerous, but I enjoy it when the opportunity comes around. I really hate how ignorant and stupid people can be when it comes to snakes. Spoilered for size. Spoiler
Ursus maritimus Ursus maritimus can be adorable and cute: Spoiler "What's that? Oh no, we weren't digging through the wall. No, we were just... uh... cuddling it!" Ursus maritimus can also fuck your shit up: Spoiler Ursus maritimus can also fuck your shit up while being adorable: Spoiler
I'm actually too e-retarded to know how to post a picture, but don't let that distract you from the glory that is the Fennec Fox (Vulpes zerda). "Fennec foxes, a small species of fox native to Northern Africa, are known for their large ears and their ability to be domesticated. In fact, fennec foxes are the only type of foxes that are regularly kept as pets." They are ridiculously cute, social animals, and if I owned a bajillion acres of land I would fill it with them. If looking at this - http://www.google.com.au/search?q=f...NIIvqrQeF7ZyxBA&ved=0CEEQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=862 doesn't immediately brighten your day, you are a terrible person with no soul.
Without question, the Occumbo Gero Spoiler Or in colloquial english, the Drop Bear. Look up. Stay alive.
