All MC's are different, but from what we've been led to believe regarding the show yes, it would have to go to a vote. For example same thing goes for Halfsack, it's all up to that chapter and club to decide when and how a prospect gets patched.
It may be easier also for jax to return to the club 1. because he didn't actually leave SOA, he went in for transfer to a nomadic MC. 2. Also I believe that his status within the Charming branch (Jax was VP) will allow him an easier transition back into the club although it would be understandable to for him to enter in as a general member rather than back to VP.
As far as I can tell, he put in for the option to transfer, knowing that another chapter was willing to receive. The option was approved. The actual transfer had not happened. Until he is officially a part of the Nomads, he's still VP of SAMCRO. The previews, with him sitting in his same seat, making VP type decisions, bear out my opinion. I fucking love this show. I love FX. Best original shows on free cable, pay cable, whatever.
Loved the 90 minutes this week! Although I thought I heard it mentioned during previews and whatnot that it would be two hours? Am I the only person who heard that? I will fully admit that I cried when Gemma told Clay and Jax about her rape. When she said they each had raped her more than once, a tear (or three) rolled down my cheek. Yes, I am a baby. But it was such an excellent portrayal of how hard that conversation must be to have with your loved ones. Clay wasn't looking at Gemma when she said that, and I was dreading the reactions from everyone else at the table--but everyone was beyond sweet and it gave me warm fuzzies. Questions: -Who thinks Agent Stahl is actually going to hold up her end of the deal she made with Chibs? I sure as hell don't. Besides that, though--could Chibs really get into trouble with SAMCRO for ratting out the Irish? SAMCRO doesn't even buy guns from them anymore, so besides violating the "don't be a rat" thing, he really hasn't done anything wrong. -Can Tara's boss really make a case for Tara telling Chibs how to fake symptoms without any proof? It's awfully assumptive of her to suggest that, since Chibs is in a biker gang, he isn't smart enough to figure out how to fake symptoms on his own. Shit, any 4th grader who doesn't want to take a math test knows how to fake being sick. I hope she can't, but can she? -Shouldn't Half-Sack be fully....healed....by now? If his nuts are still swelling, that might indicate some serious issues. Issues that a mushroom trip may exacerbate. I know if my biker buddy told me his balls hurt, I would stop what we were doing and take him to the ER ASAP. Other than that, though....this is still my favorite show on TV right now. And that has nothing to do with the fact that Charlie Hunnam is beyond bang-able.
As you said the plan is to go to seven seasons, based on that I can't see Clay dying until say season 5 or so. He is too a big a part of the dynamic to go this early on. There is still a lot of tension between Clay and Jax to be sorted. I think Clay will kill Tig at the end of this season to protect himself from disclosures of Donna's murder. The impact of Gemma's rape will let Jax temporarily let this one slide; however it will be raised again in a later season. I think Gemma's confession is a bandaid solution that will see the Son's take on the league. Eventually that wound will open and we ultimately see the demise of the club.
did anyone else get the vibe that Opie's dad was about to kill himself there at the end of the 90min episode?
What? You mean when the sad music was playing, and he was drunk as a skunk and eyeing the hand gun? And after his faith in the club had been completely shattered by the President killing his innocent daughter-in-law and the person on whom he put his faith to make it right decided instead to turn the other way, you mean that part? No, we hadn't even considered it.
That's actually a very logical idea that I hadn't thought about. He would then be avenging the death and whatnot. Do you guys think that he might even skip that step and be the one to confront Clay?
So that was an hour long mind fuck. Spoiler Definitely did not see Tig breaking down so severely and coming clean. Nor did I see Opie having his mercy on Stahl. What a show!
One episode before the season finale, so there's actually 2 left. here's hoping for a 2 hour finale! Edit: According to sutters twitter it will be a 90 min episode.
This show keeps reminding me week after week why it is one of my favorites. You can guess all you want, but more often than not, they'll throw you for a loop and take things in a completely different direction and still keep you guessing. I never would have imagined the Donna situation playing out like that. Opie is one tough son of a bitch to be able to handle things the way he is. His character, in my eyes, became very very powerful. I don't know if his reaction would ever be even remotely realistic, but if so, he did what was best for everybody. His reaction saved his father's life, Clay, Tig, the whole club, hell him holding the club together and showing mercy on Stahl would have to do wonders on his own healing. I wonder how something like that would play out in real life. I'm guessing it would be bullets going back and forth and hatred and the breaking of the club. It's interesting to me to see the level of humanity and compassion that Opie displayed. Powerful shit. With this episode ending all nice and happy and shit, I can't wait for the united Sons to work together and lay some serious waste to Zobelle and crew. These last two episodes are looking pretty violent. Fantastic.
I'm impressed with how the show tricked us into thinking suicide for Piney. With this episode, I feel that the power shift is almost complete. Opie now has Clay by the balls... and Tig lost his (or at least his balls became more human), and Half-Sack is now Infected-Sack... (How many more testicle references can I make? Are we ever going to find out where Darby went? It's a simple "We found a body in Kara Kara, it was Darby" by Hale would suffice, hell even put another spin on the show. But I smell blood around the corner.
This fucking show blows my mind every single goddamn week. Last week, the Gemma rape admission scene had myself and both of my roommates in a state of shock - none of us had ever seen something so powerful on tv, especially cable. Now this week we get Tig confessing to Opie, Opie sparing Stahl, Piney (I thought for sure he was gonna kill himself) going after Clay, and Tig fucking making everything right between Clay and Gemma rather than ruining it. I've given up trying to guess where Sons of Anarchy is going, and I'm glad of it. I like this show better than The Shield. Jesus Christ, the truth about Donna just came out and Opie managed not to kill everyone!? I thought for sure Tig was gonna bite it this episode. But somehow by the end I was glad he didn't. It's amazing how they managed to wrangle the last two weeks - all the sudden, Jax and Clay aren't trying to kill each other, and the Donna issue seems mostly resolved, and the most absurd part is that they managed to do it believably. Shit is ridiculous. Great show. Looking forward to the bloodshed that is surely to come. Henry Rollins is a cool dude in real life, but in the context of this show I want to see his brains on the wall, and I trust that the creators won't disappoint.
Wow, what an action packed soap opera episode this was: Tig confesses about killing Donna...OPIE DOESN'T CARE! Opie tries to kill Stahl...STAHL DOESN'T CARE! Chibs nearly rats out to ATF...SAMCRO DOESN'T CARE! Piney shoots at Clay...CLAY DOESN'T CARE! But seriously, great television this show is.
This also blew me away. I thought right as SAMCRO was starting to come back together, it was going to get ripped apart by Tig confessing to killing Donna. I'm actually surprised that Opie didn't go off on Clay because of it. Maybe they've reached a turning point and realized that when it all comes down to it, SAMCRO needs to stick together.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! HS has such a cute butt, though. Poor kid. Anyhow, I think I said "Holy SHIT!" about 20 times this episode. One revelation after another, after another, and after yet another. Glad a bunch of stuff got cleared up, though--no more secrets within SAMCRO (minus the fact that Tig almost fucked Gemma). Now the plot can progress cleanly. -Tara put on her crazy pants...welcome back into the fold, my child. I was beginning to think she was the most unrealistic character on this show. -I think Clay considered--just for a second, mind you--that Tig did something with Gemma. -Where. The. Fuck. Is. Darby? Seriously, I'd like to know. You can't just drop him from the plot after setting him up to be burned alive in a porn studio.
Did you watch the show??? Opie beat Tig sensless. Then lost his mind to go kill an "ATF" agent. Stahl didn't care? Or she broke down and cried in her car. She prides herself on being tough (getting beat by Otto, letting it alone...) and she had a breakdown in the car from both guilt and fear. Samcro listened to Chibs because they know how dangerous Stahl is and what she is cabable of, Clay forgave Piney because he killed his daughter in law. They wrote this episode so well and made it believable, absolutely remarkable.
