Your Googlefu is weak like girl. Mine is strong like bear. http://sutterink.blogspot.com/2010/05/redwood-originals-and-belfast-some.html
Honestly? As soon as Tara puked, I went where Gemma did. "Oh shit, she's concussed." However, her behavior through the rest of the ep makes me think you may be right. I'd be very ok with her being knocked up and the changes that would bring to Jax's character. If it ain't this season, it'll be next... I'd forgotten they were giving him a cameo this season, and when his bike rolled up, I said out loud, "What is this monstrosity?" Awesome choice of words on my part. Seeing as I hate priests in general, and Alzheimers on a personal note, I whole-heartedly agree with this. Absofuckinglutely. The question is, does she continue to be a working surgeon, or does the club find some way (trace free) to put her on retainer? They've certainly used her services enough. So, unfortunately, it looks like the search for Abel is going to be a season long thing. As much as I hate that idea, I love the idea of a Belfast chapter. Did you notice their president was wearing a "First 9" patch? Little Trick, old Half-Sack's girl, did a very nice job of acting on this ep. And hey, any time I get to look at Trixie, with her oddly attractive witch face, I'm happy. As I got repped last week, "Al Swearengen would make a kick ass Godfather".
Dear Kurt Sutter, I love your show and have thoroughly enjoyed it from the beginning. I am asking you from the bottom of my heart to finally close the door on Nate. It looks as though we are rid of him and his strange pear shaped body, his droopy dog face and his constant, incessant whining. If I here his call for Rose one more time I just might throw a cinder block into my TV. Your Pal, Mike Ness I'm not quite sure what exactly the Priest's plan is with the baby. He sold the baby and now he wants SAMCRO to know it's in Belfast? Was the plan to just not let Jimmy-O give the baby back? Honestly the accents are so good that I miss something every now and again. What did they mean by making sure SAMCRO has something to lose? They can't hold Abel over them the whole course of the gun dealings it wouldn't make any sense.
I miss about half of the shit the priest says because I can't follow the accent. I recognize that it's a well done and accurate accent - but still frustrating. I'm thinking about finding a download with subtitles for the next episode.
Here is my understanding of the priest. He wants Jimmy-O gone (because he was acting like a gangster and not a soldier by recruiting kids and only being concerned with money), so he made Jimmy lie to the SOA about Abel being in Belfast. Father Ashby then had Maureen call Gemma, so that the club will know the "truth". So with the knowledge that Abel did make it to Belfast the club will feel compelled to take care of Jimmy-O and the patched member that helped him on the phone call (betraying his brotherhood for the cash that Cherry found in his jacket) where they said the baby never made it to Ireland. That's my understanding of it at least. Father Ashby seems like one fucking scary guy. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good episode. Katey Sagal is straight up phenomenal week to week. The Happy/Clay/Piney side-story was good and provided with some great badassery that gets the adrenaline up. I just hope they don't drag out the guys getting to Ireland now. I hope Gemma wakes up fast and lets them know about the phone call. I don't want to spend 1-2 episodes chomping at the bit for shit to happen, though a Sutter tweet has my hopes pretty high that won't happen. Spoiler
Ok, then why did they show Abel in that orphanage or whatever it was? Is he sold and being ready to be placed? Or well Samcro still have time to rescue him?
I interpreted the orphanage as just another way to show how duplicitous the Father is. Instead of "A good catholic family" like he said, it Abel is parked at some off the books baby mill for safekeeping and anonymity. Not for sale.
Real life, but related to the show: Pretty cool set of unpublished MC photos from the 60's. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.life.com/image/ugc1129811/in-gallery/47471/never-seen-hells-angels-1965" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.life.com/image/ugc1129811/in ... ngels-1965</a> Includes commentary about each pic from the photographer.
I only watched the episode once so I might be wrong but I thought Jimmy told Jax that Cameron was found in Belfast but Abel was still in Vancouver and Maureen told Gemma that Abel was in Belfast.
Yeah, you're right. I should have been more clear and said "...so he made Jimmy lie to SOA about Abel not being in Belfast."
Correct. I re-watched it and appears they are going to set up Jimmy O to make it looked like he lied to the Sons. The thing that jumps out at me is that Clay doesn't know the Priest (I'm guessing) so wouldn't he be more inclined to believe Jimmy O that they are setting him up?
I originally thought this too. But I think the trump card for Clay is going to be Gemma's relationship to this Maureen who used to love/still loves John Teller. Jimmy O. can protest and say he wanted to tell Jax & Clay about Abel all he wants....the fact of the matter is, he lied. And he roped in someone else to help him lie. To an angry Jax Teller, that will look like a conspiracy. And even if this Father ManipulativeFace had Jimmy's nuts in a vice, Jimmy O. still chose to intentionally mislead the Sons about something they consider to be massively important and high priority--and I think we all know how the Sons treat those who are disloyal. Jimmy O. has done nothing but mislead them from the get-go. I know it sounds crazy, but I'd trust the lady still holding a torch for my dead husband (and protective of his bloodline as a result) over someone who appears to be leading me up the garden path. And if Gemma ever decides to talk to Half-Sack's old flame, she'll find out that one of the people who lied to Jax about her grandson's whereabouts was recently in possession of a massive amount of cash....coincidence? Conspiracy? When it's about kidnapped family members, I don't think they'll care. So.....is Maureen's daughter also John Teller's daughter/Jax's half-sister? Is Tara pregnant? Even if the character isn't, the actress is. Is Tig getting funnier each episode? Because he is throwing out some awesome lines that are cracking my shit up.
Wasn't Maureen going to do this anyway? She did send Half-Skank to get Gemma's number before the priest brought it up, correct?
I was thinking the same thing. She had quite the baby bump going. Thank god they're putting the Nate thing to rest. That storyline pissed me off. I need to rewatch the episode again. I started to doze off when before they stormed that house so things get hazy after that.
Yeah, she was going to call on her own. Father Ashby expected her to do that though. He played her like a fiddle as well. He thought she would be able to get the number on her own, but since she didn't he provided it and revealed his plan. I'm just curious as to how he got the number. I guess the The Wire had it right when it said that a good churchman is always up in everybody's shit.
At this point, I don't see the IRA's reasoning behind keeping Abel. I've got a feeling there's going to be a bloodbath in Belfast between the Sons and the priest's boys and the drug traffic through Charming will escalate later in the season. Could shit hit the fan while the crew is overseas? Oh, and enough with old man Nate already. Jesus he's annoying.
I don't think there is a television character that I have ever hated as much as I hate Agent Stahl. I'm going to be very very happy when Jax or somebody puts a bullet in her head. Hopefully she suffers quite a bit first. I personally think she deserves to be curb stomped, a la American History X.
