It snowed all morning here. Bring me your nogs, your advent calendars and your logs o' yule. Christmas is in the air.
If you're looking to justify drinking bourbon at 10am on a Saturday morning, then by all means, have at it. Nog form or not. I'm not saying there's Jameson in my coffee at the moment, but I'm not not saying it either. Speaking of which, if anyone asks why your coffee smells like booze, just tell them it's a new seasonal barley spiced latte, and they'll seem to accept it.
No snow but had our first frost. Brrr. And last Sunday I had to turn on the AC. Crazy weather, by blood is still too thin for this.
I haven't been home the past two weekends, so my yard is covered in leaves. Now wet, partially frozen leaves. Last night I ran to the store to get candy and candles for the pumpkins after work, and they already were transitioning from Halloween to Christmas. At the grocery store (Wegmans). If I do decide to tackle the yard today, it will be with the help of Jack or Captain. Gotta keep warm somehow.
When done...right...by someone who isn't using a weedwacker...there's a good area for a similar style. THIS cut that you pictured? Fuck that cut.
I'm giving serious thought to crawling into the remainder of my Buffalo Trace bottle today. Fuck productivity. Bring oblivion, sedation, I want to enjoy the first day waking up without my balls stuck to my thighs. I want to read Richard III with my windows open while a single, perfect ice cube melts slowly in my bourbon glass. Later I'm making homemade Big Macs. And why the fuck am I listening to The Doors? Maybe she's just bringing back the ancient Egyptian look?
I have two Sam Smith Chocolate Stouts in my fridge and I'm so torn between drinking them on this miserably cold day and makin the egg nog.
My coffee high is still going strong. If this is any indication what it is like to live with a tweeker, there is no excuse for any fidelity. One cup and my teeth are chattering and I can feel my hair my grow.
Since its November I can accept Christmas stuff and advertisements. It used to annoy me that it starts before thanksgiving, but when your biggest sales season last 1.5 months, I can understand getting it going as soon as possible. Fun thing about Black Friday. Companies start ramping up prices in the weeks preceding it. So that amazing sale you get may just be the normal price.
Meh. My life is incredibly boring when I'm in responsible mode, and I'm still getting used to the fact that I can actually leave the house now that my aunt has passed. My job has turned out to be much more awesome then I had even imagined. I've been promoted, which involved a pay hike I never would've believed, received several thousand in bonuses, have full benefits and a matching 401k. The only problem is the next promotion would involve a lot of travel and I'm not sure I want that. I hate flying. In the mean time, I've rented a place with roommates (Simply to save money, I have to buy another house...it feels weird not owning one.) And for the moment that is my life. Go to work, come home. Lather, rinse, repeat. I'll let my crazy out of the box again once I get everything stabilized.
I'm making sweet potato and turkey chili, we've made almond butter, husband is making apple chips, and I'm about to go to the store for the missing nog ingredients. Is this what it feels like to prepare for hibernation?
We need the deets on this chili. I've got some ground turkey sitting in the fridge as we speak. Recipe?
Ignore the 'paleo' part. I did this with turkey instead of beef. Otherwise...yummmm. I'll also be doing this soon: Balsamic Grilled Chicken I'm way to lazy to cook food nightly, so prepping and freezing works for us. Especially since Husband is on shift.
I use stout beer and baker's chocolate in my anti-paleo chili. Also fresh peppers are crucial. Egg nog: It is amazing. Perfectly smooth like custard. Perfect vessel for bourbon or rum. Or crack. We're not judging. This is a safe place.
I bought coconut milk egg nog last year and The Husband LOVED it. I won't use coconut milk to make it...but for store bought, it isn't horrible at all. And it didn't use the HFCS.
