Beyond that, how does Geno even get the team back? Who would want to play for such a shitbag after that? He's supposed to be the leader of his team and he acts like that; I don't see how he recovers, especially since he's a marginal talent to begin with. No way he's starting for the Jets next year, and I actually think there's a better than even chance that he's not on the team after this season.
The Bears-Dolphins game, when I turned it on, featured a matchup of Jimmy Clausen vs Matt Bethel-Thompson. Fuck preseason NFL
Bills at Jets, Week 10, Thursday night game, NFL Network. With any luck, they're both playing that night.
I'd be surprised if he makes the final roster after Rex is finished pumping him for information on the Jets's new system.
I know it's just preseason but it seems to me with each passing season preseason gets a little more serious on the field. Either way I'll still take a win over a loss. I lost count of all of the Free Tom Brady t shirts in the crowd.
I think its just media, but I also feel like there have been more "scrimmages" between 2 teams this year. I can think of 4-5 notable training camp fights last year, but those were inter-team.
I think that it is mostly ESPN trying to create a narrative that might make training camp interesting. I would expect tempers to flare once in a while when you have fringe guys desperate to make the roster matched up against vets who might take aggressive play in practice as disrespect.
Even Hard knocks has been a little slow this year. Which begs the annual question: why are there four preseason games? Can we not trade in two of them for real football? Or make them count for something? What a work up for nothing....
Jordy Nelson left the game today. Initial diagnosis is a torn left ACL, which would end his year. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
So I don't follow NFL at all, but my FB feed has been flooded with NZ/Aus sports pages going on about Jarryd Hayne and how great he is. Is he actually any good, or has he just made a few nice runs in preseason when every decent player is running at 60% anyway?
Pretty much exactly what you said. Nobody knows exactly how good he is, but he's made some nice individual efforts. There's no guarantee he even makes the regular season roster.
Jarryd Hayne is going to make the 53 man roster. If somehow he gets injured before the regular season, he would then be put on the injured list. There is no way the 49ers are going to let him get away just based on how well he has returned punts and kickoffs. No one is going 60% in preseason, You are either going all out to earn a job, or going all out to keep a job. The only difference is how much playing time you are getting.
Well this is...uh...interesting? Tim Tebow keynote speaker at Blue Mountain gala http://www.wtva.com/news/national/s...lue-Mountain-gala/JgnIwAFHtU2hwHUH1Qha2g.cspx Blue Mountain was about 8 miles from my front door in Mississippi. It has a population of +/- 600.
At this rate by the time the regular season starts the Packers are going to be suiting up this guy to play WR:
Oakland Coliseum is such a shithole. I mean even the Metrodome was able to cover up the baseball diamond when the Vikings played.
Out just in time for the non-sports media to lap up the story for the playoffs. "Yes, Joan, football is dangerous. We should just eliminate tackling and blocking altogether." Luke Wilson as Roger Goodell? They didn't even try to get his hair color right? Or is he playing "Robert Gardell" or something?
