    A friend invited me and the futurewife to a really cool place to view the Nashville fireworks - an old factory building converted to an apartment, with a sweet open deck that looked out over the skyline.
    Unfortunately, we were downwind (or it was totally dead), and after the first five minutes the skyline had disappeared, and it was like watching a volcano, or distant warfare. So, yeah. America.

    I think that every time someone posts a ridiculous photo of a dude or woman decked out in red/white/blue socks+hat+shorts+tank top as they chug Budweiser and pose in front of a bald eagle statue. Personally, I don't think it looks patriotic...it just looks stupid. Imagine if they were dressed like that in their church colours before mass on Sunday; most people would see it as disrespectful to the faith.
