The captain was also told the route was safe, despite the Navy having reliable intelligence that japanese subs were actually along the route. They withheld this information from him (for reasons lost to history), and provided the ship no escort. Congress later completely exonerated him, though it didn't matter because he committed suicide in 1968.
Someone's coming to remove our old broken hot tub in a bit. There's a nest of snakes of unknown type underneath, and I have an anti-survival reaction to snakes when I see one where I immediately go "oh cool!! Imma catch it! I wanna hold it!!" So I'm sure this is gonna work out swimmingly.
Awesome, be sure to have the wife have a phone handy. Might as well call the local ER to see if they have the anti-venom ready for ya
Nah Texas only has four kinds of venomous snakes which are easy to identify even when hammered. I'm cool with getting potentially injured a bit, I love adrenaline and that whole risk vs reward thing. But I try not to fuck with things that can kill me. Things that aren't supposed to kill me already try to do it anyway. Like hatchets.
She had her opportunity. Back when she thought mental illness was a weakness and in her head and refused to get help she pulled a steak knife on me during one of her episodes. And to think I kept dating her still.... And I figured out the ladder thing finally. I got a nice one, one of those adjustable ones that costs like $300 and is made from the souls of little children or something. Apparently you can mitigate risk if you think things through and have the right tools instead of trying to redneck power your way through a task.... it's a learning curve. I'm getting better at it.
You should just do what the rest of us do and buy an 8 ball when you want this feeling without all the risk.
Shockingly the hot tub removal went off without a hitch. And I even got to catch and hold a ribbon snake! I'm gonna push my luck my cooking with hot oil tonight.
The USS John McCain collided with a merchant ship near Singapore. Why the fuck does this keep happening?
I'm trying to work my way through "USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage" and while it is embarrassingly inaccurate I can almost look past that if not for the fact I truly believe Nicholas Cage is the Jay Cutler of movies.
Clouds just cleared up enough to get a great look... even though we're only getting 75% here, it's pretty cool. Have to say that the NASA coverage is excellent so far...
I always rolled my eyes at that. So he had the 3 days worth of oxygen and crash landed?? I know it was a popcorn film but come on.
