Yup. I'd say 6-7/10 people I call are in the 18-25 range. Of those, a little more than half show up for their interviews (no-shows aren't really age-specific I've found). The people I end up hiring are all across the board demographic wise though, because I care more about their personality and team fit than I do job skills or past experience. Some of the best hires I've made, I gave them their first job.

And as far as waiting tables go, I don't have many hard and fast rules when it comes to hiring but I will ALWAYS, immediately call someone who has waited tables for more than 6 months. If they can handle that, they won't be scared by anything, and they're gonna have a good sense of themselves too. If someone is between jobs and looking for something to give them real world skills, waiting tables is absolutely the way to go.

Decidedly not "high paying," but not low paying either with the benefits and raise structure. It's more of a "starting position for a career" thing.

I'm not going to give out numbers. This place already knows too much about me and especially after what happened with Nett's old job, I've gotten very gun shy about that. But suffice to say it's about middle class for the area.

I'm thinking I like Minnesota. Of all the states I've lived in, Michigan, Colorado, California, Florida, I think I feel the most comfortable here.

What about Minnesota is appealing to you? I really want to move out of the south and we have a few locations in mind. I kind of want to hop around every 5 years or so to get a chance to deeply explore different parts of the country.

Minneapolis is a big city no doubt, and I live very close to downtown Minneapolis, but despite being that close it doesn't feel overwhelming. The state itself has a laidback vibe I find appealing. Its not as modern or progressive as say Denver or other cities, but I kind of like that, it seems Minnesota likes to see whats happening elsewhere before doing something. It is a bit socialistic in terms of healthcare, but I benefit from that, the copay on my last two meds was 0, no joke. Its not as scenic as Denver, not as trendy as San Diego, less pills than Tampa but all in all its just not a bad place to be

Proceeds go to Veterans, it's for a great cause. He is a veteran, hence why he is supporting it. Chances are it is cash bar, but honestly I have no idea. His parents/ my fucking boss, and his wife are also attending. Let's take bets on who gets shitfaced first.

I dare you to slow dance with him and then knee him in the nuts.

    You won't do it.

Remember this challenge when you're shitfaced. Triple-Dog.

His dad signs my paychecks, I can't cause him bodily harm! I am not insane! However, the last time my boss went black tie, he got so drunk, he dropped his wife on the dance floor trying to be snazzy dipping her. Try a new challenge.

I have to squeeze myself in a Slinky black dress tomorrow, and I am stuffing onion rings in my face. This is already poor planning.
