    I'm also watching Ransom. Does anybody remember when Mel Gibson wasn't crazy? My aunt used to have the biggest crush on him and also George Strait, but I digress.

    Tonight, I get to hop on a late flight to visit my parents. I don't land until close to midnight. I'm both oddly excited and terrified to see what kind of other degenerates fly the red eye on Christmas Eve. As a bonus, it's Southwest, so I get to shoulder and jockey for position with said degenerates while we all awkwardly stand in line for 25 minutes. B Group, motherfuckers.

    I love (hate) how the history channel "proves" the existance of government cover-up , aliens, and ufo's with a poorly constructed display of circumstantial evidence. "If they aren't talking openly about top secret aircraft or telling us where area 51 REALLY is, it MUST be extraterrestrial life!" Yes, that's totally it.


    On another note, I'm working my regular shift tonight and I'm on call from 8am tomorrow through 8am Sunday. One of us here is a J-O-O. Ah yes...I'm just a Jew, a lonely Jew, on Christmas.

    Well, then Happy Holidays to you!

    This will be my first Christmas off in 5 years. My big plans consist of laying around in my pajamas and watching the entire Season 3 of Mad Men (one of my birthday gifts last week). I have no family obligations! Yeah me! My husband was trying to hint that maybe we should see if his parents want to come over for breakfast/lunch/dinner/whatever (which obviously I would be cooking), but I played dumb and acted like I didn't notice the hint. It seemed to have worked and he is totally down with the new plan.

    When we left for Cuba this year, we were delayed about three hours in the airport because of a snowstorm. We and most of the airplane sat in the airport bar and drank our faces off. There was at least thirty people on our flight that drank as hard as we did (mass tequila shots) and there were several people who were almost to drunk too walk. The stewardesses must have hated that flight.

    In a couple of hours I'm leaving for vacation and I'll probably miss most of the good stuff on this tread. I fly to LA later this afternoon and leave LA at midnight. It should be interesting to see who takes 14 hour flights on Christmas day.

    There's not shit on tv right now. Since I'm sick and stuck here on the couch, this is unacceptable.

    I'm trying to decide which dvd I should watch:
    -Chistmas Vacation (for obvious reasons, even though I just watched it earlier this week.)
    -Fringe Season 1 (this is one of a few shows I got into that I haven't seen from the beginning and I haven't watched this yet.)
    -The Princess Bride

    I feel like making Christmas goodies. Well, theoretically I do, I'm still not feeling great but I really want to make some puppy chow. I have all the ingredients because I didn't know I'd be sick all day today and I was planning on bringing some out to mom and dad's tonight.

    Speaking of, dad will be smoking rib eye steaks tonight (actually, I believe they're in the smoker now.) My stomach had better settle itself before tonight or I'm going to be pissed. I love it when dad cooks.

    I'm in a much better mood now. The snow has stopped and it's melting away! Who says alcohol doesn't solve problems? I was cranky as hell a few hours ago, now my attitude has exponentially improved.

    Thanks to all you Canadians, eh, for making this Crown Royal for me to enjoy.
