She's hot, I won't argue that, but she's only funny com pared to other female comedians.

Man, a 6 day weeks suck. I have to work all day tomorrow, and work in a job that isn't in my description by managing a bunch of CSRs.

She's good compared to most male comics. Not the superstar male comics, but if you put her in a typical comedy club lineup, I think she'd be about average, which is pretty good.

I can agree with that, she's pretty good compared to mediocre comedy club comics, but I don't know that that's saying much. She was followed by Daniel Tosh which didn't help her much; he's not the funniest guy but he's pretty good. Why aren't female comics usually very good? It doesn't seem like there should be as much of a difference as there is. Is there an accepted explanation for this?

My beer is delicious, but it is not in a red can.

Soooo, that's all I really had to say.

My beer is delicious. Well, it tastes like Bud Light which is good enough for me. I'm still perplexed as to why it's in a red can though. The box says limited edition but there's no mention of why. I'm a curious person and I'm not pleased with this.

Can I just say again how much I love Lonesome Dove? Right now I'm at the lightning storm, even though the effects aren't great, I still love it.

Since comedy shows are generally pretty cheap (the ones I went to in NY were like $12-15, plus a 2 drink minimum, $5 for domestic beer), and you get to see 6-8 people in 2 hours, if you make me laugh a few times in your set, I consider that pretty decent, even if it's just average among comics. B comics are still funny, you just don't want to see a C- or D, where they get annoying to sit through.

I think for female comics, many of them just seem uncomfortable, don't really get a good rhythm. If they say something edgy, it typically comes across as try-hard. Maybe it's just bias, I expect women to be less funny, but I suspect it's more a socialization thing. I suspect guys not just tell more dirty jokes as children, but more jokes in general. They play the dozens, overtly compete for cleverness.

Also, there's more incentives for men to be funny. A really hilarious, clever guy increases his chances of mating, especially with the invention of celebrity comics, and now even more so with social media. A funny woman is just marginally more attractive.

Oh yeah, never tell your girlfriend that she isn't funny. Rookie mistake.

    Christopher Hitchens' finest hour:

    Other observations:

    a) the house beer at the bar we usually go to after exams smells like vomit. It tastes otherwise fine but dear Jesus it tastes like vomit and maybe I'm a booze snob but I'm so used to inhaling as I drink alcoholic beverages that it takes some time to retrain myself to exhale as I do so to avoid smelling it.

    b) Pink Himalayan salt. My mother got it for me to congratulate me for successfully managing to not die in the past year. When you put the event in perspective, it's almost appropriate.

Your not just going through the obsession art catalogue?

Either way, I'm totally fine with it.
