    On scotches, agreed with the Glenrothes. An ex's father turned me onto it and it's a great little bottle that seems to be a favorite of any scotch drinker that tries it.

    I like Oban, but that's just because I'm a fan of peat and smoke and not-so-sweet things. You can't go wrong with finding Islay (not Highland) single malts to switch things up.

    In the case of a gift, I tend to get something that the recipient has never had before, to let them try new things that they normally wouldn't.

    Figure out what kind of scotch he might like (single-malt, blended, peaty, etc), and go for lesser known or unpopular scotches in that same area. He might just find his new favourite scotch that way.

    Unh. Last exam, done. Expensive-ass restaurant with 3 friends and a prof tonight.

    We were popping champagne in the atrium of the building and one of the deans came down and told us we couldn't have alcohol. As such, we were to hide the bottles, and she went back upstairs and told everyone we were really sorry. Win.

    My espresso machine just broke. I want a new one, or possibly a regular drip coffee machine and I'd like to keep it under 100 dollars. I already have a grinder. Any suggestions?
