Shit. You mean that large supply of fried chicken and watermelon I shipped down to you as a secret Santa isn't going to be appreciated?

This is true, that's why I rarely go (but there are reasons to go sometimes). I like going to the bar across the street, that I can walk through the skyway to in sandals in the middle of December. They make my drinks nice and stiff there.

*For you non-Minnesotans, a skyway is a link between buildings, generally on the second-third floors, so you don't have to go outside to walk across the city.

I hope I got here in time, but I fear it's too late.

Frank, this is for you (and for all the other men/boys on this board that will consider shacking up with their sweetheart at some point in their life - it's too late for those that have already jumped - you know who you are).

For all that is good and holy, watch this and really hear it's message, for it is wise.

I know I'm the dissenting opinion here, but as long as he confident with her, it can very well work. I mean, there are worse decisions you can make in life than having someone moving in with you/moving in with them. As long as both names aren't on the title of the house, it's fine. Just remember damage control, and as happy as you may be, you should always leave yourself an out.

I'm sure I'm the exception, but my wife and I are happily married (for admittedly not that long; six months). We've known each other for three years. I proposed to her when she was 19, after knowing her for nine months. I also proposed to her BEFORE we had sex, and she moved in with me a few months AFTER we got engaged. Not the way I would have preferred (sex -> move in -> engaged), but we were still smart about it, and it worked for us.

Here's to hoping it works for you.

(And because my wife was a naive virgin when we first met, I told her that withholding sex was one of the worst things you can do, akin to killing a kitten; completely fell for it, and she has never even seriously threatened to withhold it or even slow down in the three years I have been pounding her glorious ass. She also cleans thoroughly and frequently, though I cook, because I love to cook, and I am a good cook.)

Do you realize these things are all over and not just in Minni? You need to get out more often.

People that fly into town for work are completely foreign to this topic. Granted, they're not from Canadia but they are from New England and the West Coast. And by the way, nowhere else matters, I'm in God's country. When it dumped a ton of snow on us last week, it's because God was drunk and tipped over his coke bag.

So I was about to shit all over Minnesota for no good reason, but the state's wikipedia entry doesn't make it sound all that bad. Who woulda thunk.

No shit this place is awesome.

This is a lake that's just a few miles from Canada in the Boundary Waters (like my avatar but 5 months away). The photo was taken in October. It must look amazing by now.

I am done with finals and am feeling awesome. I've been drinking for awhile too. Pounding the super strong stout beers works well. It hasn't yet set in that I have nothing to do tomorrow except sleep in and work in my shop. It's been awhile since I've smelled like sawdust and grease and I miss it.

In some sad news, Captain Beefheart has died: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12024652" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12024652</a>

In even sadder news, I still can't drink because of this damn sinus infection and the antibiotics I'm taking to kill it.

    No, seriously, RIP Captain Beefheart

The week is finally over!! This was one of those weeks that wasn't particularly bad but it just seemed to drag on and on. It's probably because I'm leaving for a 3 week vacation next week. This time next week I'll be in the air on my way to 2 weeks of scuba diving in Papua New Guinea.

    Dear everyone,

Alcohol and antibiotics do not interact. You can drink alcohol while taking antibiotics. I don't care who told you what, the alcohol isn't going to render the antibiotics ineffective or more toxic or whatever. You might consider taking it easy while you're sick, but that's about it. The largest concern someone might come up with is metronidazole and the disulfiram reaction, but even then, that's a myth and/or completely theoretical concern.

    Sincerely,

    Me.

In other news, I took the first solid shit I've had in three days today. I got laid twice, and saw some nipples out on the beach (some intentional, some not). A total of 8 1/2 nipples seen on this trip. And it's a 6 am bus ride back to the airport tomorrow, so I'll probably pull an all nighter.
