I have not been able to catch a Warriors game. I've heard great things about them, but one of the not-so-great things is that their defense is terrible. Can't wait for the playoffs!
They're not as bad as sometimes stated, especially with Bogut playing. They play at a relatively high pace, so their PPG stats don't look very good. But looking at their season-long numbers, they have a surprisingly stingy opponent's field goal and three-point percentage, and they rebound very well. The downsides are they cough up the ball more than they take it away (that'll happen when your point guard isn't really a point guard...), and they foul a lot. Their defense isn't as bad as the Rockets, and probably is better than the Nets or Knicks (who really only have one or two guys each playing serious defense). Maybe better than the Bucks, whose defensive philosophy is "Larry Sanders will cover a lot of ugly." It certainly isn't a ton worse than these teams.
I have a strange sense of apathy concerning the playoffs. See if you can guess why... I mean I'm still watching it, there's going to be some great matchups. But having your team go from "borderline contender" to "a tough out in the first round" is a little disheartening.
See I never let my hopes get up. I watched enough Miami Heat games, looked at LBJs shot charts and looked at the fact the Heat have been ungodly healthy...I never really got there. Now if there is a God and the Heat get knocked out, I'll be happy again. Now I'll just be happily be watching/cheering Lob City.
Interesting... <a class="postlink" href="http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/56853/truehoop-tv-mjs-trainer-on-mj" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_ ... iner-on-mj</a>
Stephen Curry is the best shooter in the world. That has an appeal of its own. The fact that he's hitting 45% of his shots from deep, at his size, with the selection of shots he takes, is ridiculous. I remember watching that game at MSG and just wincing the entire time.
I remember watching the game, and that 3 at 1:28, I audibly said "no way" as he took it...pure. And the 3 at 2:25 on the break to put them up 100-99 barely moved the net. Just insanity. I love watching him because its one thing to watch a "scorer" like Lebron manufacturer points through a variety of shots, getting in the lane, etc.. Its another to watch someone like Curry spray jumpers all over the court. And cause even those his mechanics are fantastic, he has a weird leg follow through, so half his shots look somewhat out of rhythm/timing, even though they aren't at all.
It's impressive. I don't know how many people realize how hard it is to to a fake pump like that, reset, and still keep your shooting rhythm without leaving your feet. He is ridiculous.
You guys have a little Curry on your lips, might want to wipe that off. Actually its insane how he and his brother all have the same shot as their father. It is sad they keep trying to force this dude into a PG position instead of letting him be a SG and just go nuts.
Nope, it's spicy and delicious and I enjoy it. Don't be mad because you want to put a Rose to your face and sniff deeply.
Playoff predictions everyone(haven't watched anything all day so I have no idea who won whatever afternoon games)! Knicks in 6 Bulls in 6(this is probably my bias showing, but whatever) Heat in 3(oh wait, I'm told that's impossible. Heat in 4 then, I guess) Clipper in 6 Spurs in 5 Pacers in 5 Thunder in 5 Denver in 6
Some great shut down defense from the Knicks. Also Javale McGee is ridiculously good when well behaved.
1. This Warriors-Nuggets game is entertaining as hell. 2. Watching Ty Lawson play makes me shake my head in disgust at my team (Timberwolves).
If the Finals participants are anything other than some combination of Heat/Thunder/Spurs I will be shocked beyond belief.
C'mon, people! This time last year this thread was overflowing with comments/banter/analysis/arguing! How am I, the part-time semi-lurker, the only one contributing? It's the PLAYOFFS!!!!
