Is it the Heat's strategy to just shoot threes? Because that's all they've done most of the second quarter.

Go and play a pickup game with 8 year olds.

You gotta do something to keep it interesting or you'll get so bored you'll wind up losing.

The Bulls game last night was fun, watching Thibs make adjustments and outcoach PJ was supreme. Also it must fucking suck to be a Nets fan and see your star playing being shut down by Kirk Hinrich, my favorite white boy of my sporting lifetime. He's be excellent this season when he gets ugly and takes some shots. Thibs made sure to play him when Deron was playing and no other time. Fucking excellent coaching.

Its hard to watch these playoffs and get excited knowing the Heat are just keeping the wood chipper warmed up.

The Bucks should just sign a formal Declaration of Surrender and get it over with. I mean, why risk potential injury to your players for next season?

This might be literally the strangest thing I have ever seen.

Good luck filling that coaching spot, MJ. "The team's terrible, the owner is a megalomaniac, and he'll fire me at the drop of a hat? Where do I sign up?!"

Because if Monta and Jennings are on the court, you can risk potential injury to some one else's expensive players for next year.

The latter is going to help you WAY more than the former. I'm going to the Bulls game tonight and will enjoy shouting things at D Williams. Other than that, praying the Miami Heat all fall into a coma. Birdman makes that team fucking ridiculous. The weakest point was their rebound and he's getting so-many tip-ins its disgusting.

Can someone explain the second half Celtics to me? Because I have no idea. They followed up a 25 point second half with a 23 point second half. That means if these were a single game, no team has been that bad since the shot clock was introduced. Not just in the playoffs, regular season too.

They're not a good offensive team but jesus.

Now that Westbrook is out with what looks like season-ending surgery, it looks possible they could actually steal the series.

I don't wish injury upon anyone, and obviously I'd like to play them at full strength, but suffice to say... it's a good day to be a Spurs fan.

I don't get how the knowledge is out there that Derrick Rose is simply being sat for the rest of the season. No idea why people want him back so badly so he can possibly injure something else trying to be a hero going against the Miami Hungry Woodchipper. No one is beating the Miami Heat in 4 games. Now that Westbrook is injured, the rest of the playoffs are a foregone conclusion unless Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith becomes GODS. Every team is just a sacrifice to the Miami Heat. I fucking hate it, but there is no interesting conversation. Not only are the Miami Heat the best team in the field, they are the healthiest and haven't had to add guys in the last 2-3 months with the exception of the beautifully integrated Chris Anderson.

Adian Peterson raised the bar with ACL recoveries, even though most people don't understand the difference in the kind of stresses a football player puts on their knees compared to a basketball player. Doesn't matter though, most people don't think very much and see AD coming back after an offseaon, so now expect the same from other athletes too.

    1. People would get off Rose's nuts if he wasn't constantly being reported as being at full strength while Noah limps 90 feet up and down the court. Noah is just as young and valuable to the Bulls, so why put his career at risk? It doesn't help that he/Thibs wouldn't commit (until recently) to shutting him down for the season. The whole "will he, won't he" nonsense had a very Favre-like feel to it. The criticism has been, in part, Rose's fault. See also: that adidas #thereturn commercial.

That being said, as a basketball fan, I prefer that Rose sits out. He's only 24; no need to rush.

    2. Indiana, NY, and SA match up well against Miami, and not in the imaginary way that LA matches up against the Spurs. It's not a foregone conclusion that Miami can't be beat. Not easy, but doable.

    3. This Bulls-Nets game is beyond exciting. It's become the Nate Robinson-Joe Johnson show.

I...well...shit. I have no comebacks for this. Noah really isn't limping, his injury is less serious and just what big men always get. I think Chicago collectively forgot about that Return Commercial. People are upset he's not coming back, mainly because his suits have been atrocious. Light skin black dudes should not be rocking mustard. I don't know why Noah is playing, this entire season is just deciding which sacrifice we give to the Altar of LeBron anyway. I refuse to watch games like this one and have a glimmer of hope like other Bulls fans do. "Oh my god, we're playing so well, maybe if Rose was back!" No.

Indiana can't do it without Granger. New Yawk maybe with a healthy Tyson Chandler, but their bench is shit, and you're betting on Kenyon Martin do stay focused. The Spurs can't do it. Duncan is only playing 30 minutes a game, Tony Parker and Ginobli have to play like Gods for 4 games. The only team that could have done it was OKC, maybe, sorta, possibly. Now its showing how fucked they are without Harden, and now that Westbrook is out, this season reminds me of that scene from Apocalypto when they cut off the guys head and it rolls down the temple stairs. The Heat are holding the big knife at the top of the temple.

Duncan only playing 30 minutes a game is by design. He's getting the rest he needs, and he's still putting up all-star numbers. Save the big minutes for the big show.

If anyone is gonna give the heat a solid run, it'll be the Spurs.

I agree, and they will still lose. Unless someone on the Heat suffers an injury. I'm not even a Heat fan, but if you have looked at their shot charts, the plays they have been running, +/- line-up numbers. It is just disgusting what they can do.

Steph Curry might be able to hit shots blindfolded. Didn't really get to see Reggie Miller play that much, but was he that good? Easily the best shooter in the league for someone who shoots as much as he does. Maybe Novak could shoot with him if they're just in warmups, but in the game there's no one who can touch him.

Oh, sure, Jason Terry is gonna pretend he doesn't suck for 5 minutes, just to get my hopes up. I see what's going on here. At least Brandon Bass still sucks.

Noah is 28 and no he isn't. Thibs has been KILLING his veterans this season. Too many minutes for a relatively old squad. Why did Luol Deng lead the NBA in minutes per game this year?! They're exhausted. They're lucky the injuries haven't been worse, a la 2010 Amare or 2013 Kobe. I hope the Bulls just let everyone rest on featherbeds all offseason.

Granger hasn't been a meaningul part of Indiana's team for a while now. You might as well be talking about the role of Jeremy Lin on the Knicks. Everything Granger did, Paul George does as well or better these days.

Miller was a damn good player but this season by Curry has been something else. 45% on that kind of volume is INSANE. The best Reggie ever shot from three was 42.9%. Jesus Shuttleworth topped out at 43.4%.

Curry has topped those numbers each of the last four years, with an average of 44.6%. This year was 45.3%, with was equal to the league average over the entire floor. Think about that: he shoots better from 3 than 18 NBA teams do overall, layups included. He's almost 10% above the league average.

It's one thing to do that when you're Matt Bonner, but when you're the #1 option and hitting 3.5 of them a game? We've never seen a shooting season like this before.

First "active" gay NBA player, Jason Collins comes out. Active is in quotes because he's on his way out the league. His stats have been declining these last few years and I couldn't have told you who he was if you put a gun to my head yesterday.

Dude can be as gay as he pleases, he's still a terrible NBA player. He's literally one of the five or ten worst in the league. But good on him for leading the way.
