If Derek Fisher ends up on my team, I will fly to you and slap you. And I know he can't go back due to the CBA, as a player. I rather have JL3 on my team than Fisher. At least JL3 can get hot and jack up shots once in a blue moon. Fish has got nothing left.
What do you have against Fisher? Nothing show up when you tried to google his cock? ESPN has Bulls, Heat, San Antonio as his 3 choices.
Look, nothing personal against Fisher, it is just the Bulls are a faster team, Derek Fisher has no energy. He can't shoot, and/or create his own shot. The Bulls number 1 weakness is scoring options.
I agree. He can shoot, but he's not a pure shooter like Kapono (whom they also dumped). And he's a liability on defense to a team without a shot blocker. I would try the Magic if I were him. Sorry Chris Duhon.
People always talk about his shooting b/c they remember his big shots...he's a career 40% shooter. That is not good. And he's a slightly above average career 3 point shooter (37%, NBA average is 35%). His shooting isn't anywhere near where it need to be so compensated for his many deficiencies. He's a guy who has been coasting on folklore for at least half a decade. My first thought when I saw this in the articles was "Introducing your new Lakers assistant coach and 2012-13 starting point, Derek Fisher!" I'm assuming the Lakers didn't let him know because it probably wasn't in the works for long. He got moved as a salary consideration in a larger trade, so it's possible they just didn't realize they were moving him. I'm just kind of tired of him blatantly flouting trade rules by refusing to move to places he doesn't want to play. "Show up in HOU and suit up? Nah. I'd rather not. Wonder if I use the fake sick kid excuse again...."
This is exactly what I was getting at. "Introducing your new Lakers Kobe Bryant Wrangler/Assistant Coach, Derek Fisher!"
I've got to think Fisher is done as a player. He was a glaring weakness for the Lakers all year, and without Kobe or the politics he wouldn't have been playing for a few years. Consider that Marbury and Iverson are both younger than Fisher, both were better during their careers, and both have been out of the league for a while.
For the record, to clear up something said via rep, I'm not suggesting his daughter wasn't sick. I'm suggesting that I don't believe his claim that there were no capable hospitals and specialists in the entire state of Utah. Salt Lake City isn't Mogadishu. They have doctors.
Man, I'd love to be excited about the Bulls thumping the Magic on national TV, but it was stealing candy from a baby. A little bit of defense, some missed threes and their spirit is gone. Yawn.
Exactly. I wrote about this before, but might as well recap it, since Derek Fisher is one of the biggest pieces of shit in the history of sports. Fisher's daughter had retinoblastoma, an extremely rare cancer of the eye. The place where she went to get her surgery, and all her follow-up visits is in New York. His daughter has never, ever seen anyone in Los Angeles about this condition, in part because there are no retinoblastoma specialists in Los Angeles. Keep in mind that Fisher's excuse for getting Utah to nullify his contract was "to play in a city close to where my daughter receives treatment". The Jazz took that to mean the New York Knicks or New Jersey Nets. He implied as much to them, too. Imagine everyone's shock when Fisher calmly re-signs with the Lakers. Last I checked, LA was further away from New York than Utah is. Even the excuse of "just in case of an emergency, LA is better than Utah" is a crock of shit. There are no retinoblastoma specialists in Utah, either. However, when it comes to treating cancers, Utah is actually considered a better place than LA, since it's home to the world-famous Huntsman Cancer Institute. Cedars Sinai is a very nice facility (I had a major surgery there and stayed there for a few days), but it's not considered especially good for cancer treatment. Bottom line is this: Derek Fisher used his 5 year-old daughter's legitimate, life-threatening cancer as an excuse to get out of his contract with the Utah Jazz and re-sign with the Lakers. That's also why they boo the shit out of him every time he shows his sorry-ass mug inside EnergySolutions Arena.
Stay classy Golden State, stay classy. <a class="postlink" href="http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7711659/golden-state-warriors-retire-chris-mullin-jersey-boos-team-new-owner" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/77116 ... -new-owner</a> Also, thank god, Derek Fisher is drifting towards the Heat to sabotage the games against the Bulls. Or maybe OKC, but not the Bulls.
Derek Fisher makes his debut in OKC. Puts up a dazzling veteran performance with 5 points and 1 rebound in 19 minutes.
They were ripping the Warriors yesterday for letting the owner speak after Mullin. Since when does the guy who is being honored, not speak last? Fuck Derek Fisher. We already have a slow PG that shoots too much and thinks fouling is a form of defense. 2 words: Turi + af In French, that means "missing piece"
How the fuck is Vinny Del Negro still a head coach? He fucking is a terrible head coach. There HAS to be better people out there.
I think he counts as a minority hire. Clippers? Dysfunctional? Really? Isn't that the same team whose owner would heckle his own players from the stands?
I don't know if it's just parroting Boston Billy's retarded shtick or what, but I'm curious why people think Vinny Del Negro is a bad coach. I'm not saying he isn't; Del Negro might he horrible. I'm not an expert. But what are some specific examples of him playing the wrong guys, flubbing major in-game decisions, having his team give up at the end of quarters, or any other classic hallmarks of a poor coach? In the Clippers' games that I have watched the past few seasons, Del Negro generally made as many mistakes as most other head coaches I have seen an equal number of games from. Or do you think that 4th in the Western Conference in a crazy competitive league, with a brand new group of guys playing a crazy 66 game league, and your second best player coming off major, career-impacting surgery is a bad standing? Maybe it is. I would just like to hear a reason why.
Watching OKC lower the boomrape on the Bulls right now makes me want to do another drinking marathon. I just figured out what team I don't want the Bulls to see in the finals. Even though it'd probably be the 2nd highest rated finals in the last decade.
The Heat better cut this disinterested act or they are gonna fuck around themselves right out of the playoffs. And the Bulls need to get Derek Rose right. They are playing well without him, but aren't going to win a few series without him. OKC is for real. And that includes all of Westbrook's bullshit.
So I was checking out Kevin Love's minutes because I worry he's going to get injured because he doesn't get enough rest, and sure enough he's leading the league in minutes per game. I really don't want to think about it. But I also noticed that Kobe is 3rd in the league, which seems ridiculous considering his age and the miles on his legs. What the hell is going on with the Lakers that Kobe's playing so many minutes? Are they just that screwed without him on the court all the time, even though they have Bynum and Gasol?
You're not the only one to notice. Kobe and Gasol are in the top ten. not only that, they're the only players there over the age of 28. Looking at the top 25, only one (Joe Johnson, age 30) is 30 or older. And sitting at #26 is injury hazard Andrew Bynum. To find someone older than Kobe or Gasol, you have to go all the way down to #33 & #34, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. The Lakers lack depth, especially in terms of scoring punch. This is part of what Sessions should theoretically alleviate. Prior to him, when Kobe was on the bench, they'd have to trot out likeups of Barnes, MWP, Blake, and Fisher. None of whom can really score.
