Regular season games are all well and good, but every team is just trying to get to the postseason without too many injuries. (Speaking of which, I'm still holding out hope the Jazz make it) Miami beat Chicago 4-1 in the play-offs last season, and in the regular season games this year, they have been very closely matched. We'll see how things stand if both teams make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, but it looks to be a tough, hard-fought series that will go down to the wire. No guarantees for the Bulls.
I'm getting the feeling that Bynum isn't immature, he just is an old school shit eater. I like that, I like that a lot. He feeds off bullshit and plays better when he's not loved. Like he'd fit in perfect with that Bad Boy Pistons. Also Pau Gasol making back to back 3s in overtime? That's scary. The West cannot sleep on the Lakers yet, they still got some fight in them. Also great overtime win for the Bulls today. These playoffs are going to be fucking great.
Yeah, anytime you can pull one out in OT against a team that is 15games under .500, it's a solid victory. And what is Rose complaining about? You drive all crazy to the rim and you're gonna get fouled. This is not the playground. Especially when you have a rep for missing FT at the end of games. Ask Wade about that. Thats why hes always sitting out too. I don't know about Bynum, but you know who is a piece of shit? Carmelo Anthony. And not just because he dropped 42 on the Heat yesterday. He doesn't even pretend to care about anything but shooting the ball. He plays NO defense and makes NO attempt to pass the ball once he has it. I love how the announcers kiss his ass too. Of course he's scoring 30pts a game without Lin and Amare. Who else is gonna shoot? Baron Davis? Landry Fields?
Y'all actually been watching Melo? The guy is going HAM in April. He's averaging 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.5 assist on 50.7% shooting in April. 43.5% from three. The Knicks are only 4-3 over that stretch, but that includes a 38 point demolishing of Washington and wins over Milwaukee, Chicago, and Orlando. And a competitive game against Miami last night. Melo is playing as well as anyone in the NBA right now. If Baron gets healthy/motivated, Shumpert continues playing lock-down defense, Chandler remains a beast... they could be scary as a 7 or 8 seed. With or without Stat and Lin.
OH MY GOD LEBRON JAMES JUST SCORED 17 STRAIGHT POINTS TO SILENCE ALL HIS CRITICS AND TAKE OVER IN THE 4TH QUARTER! Wait...what? No... What? It was...the Nets? Oh...nevermind. They're 9-22 at home, 22-40 at overall, and barely won the game with D Williams on the bench. I can't believe I have to explain to my children as they watch basketball. "Timmy, Sally, before LeBron James went to Miami, he had no regard for human life. Now he beats a team where the most known players, is known for being tricked by an evil fame whore, not his actual basketball ability."
Somebody sounds a little bitter that the Bulls lost to Washington. At home. And I believe Washington is what...7-24 on the road this season.
2nd seed says what? Rose and Deng were out, not bitter at all. I'm concerned about Rose not being able to put together back to back games, and the old men are the NBA are holding up better than he is.
In danger of losing top seed sez what? Heat have 1 more game to play (thats 1/2 if they win), plus 1 game head to head with Bulls. Id be scared if Rose plants to sit out the rest of the regular season. Id be shitting my pants if Deng sits out too. The Wiz was without their best inside player and Boozer exploded for 16. How well did that #1 seed work out for you last year? I think you lost 4 in a row, including the clincher at home. At this point, id rather play the Sixers with the 7 than the Knicks with the 8. But we shall see.
Well after the Bulls performance on Thursday, I'd have no problem if Rose sat out against the Heat for that next game. The Heat supporting cast is terrible. Turiaf had how many minutes? You kidding me? Yeah, everyone would rather play the Sixers, but we'll see how New York plays, they might be able to switch and knock the Heat out (dream) and that would be perfect. We'll see. Exciting, exciting basketball.
For what it's worth, the Sixers have one of the best defenses in the history of the NBA, statistically speaking. Or at least they did prior to their slump. Even after their recent slew of shitty games, they still have the top defense in the NBA. If they snap out of their weird funk, they aren't an easy victory.
They couldnt repeat that performance against Washington, so what makes you think they can do it again vs the Heat? The sun shines on every dog's ass once in a while. It wasn't a slight against the 76ers, just the Heat match up better with them than they do the Knicks.
"The way @KingJames finished the 4th w/ 17 straight pts for the @MiamiHEAT last night, he is my MVP." I guess the new owner of the Dodgers disagrees with you. In other news, fame makes DRose sad. :-( <a class="postlink" href="http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/id/7823695/chicago-bulls-derrick-rose-uncomfortable-dealing-fame" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/ ... aling-fame</a>
In other news, the Utah Jazz are presently in the 8th spot in the West, with Phoenix and Houston both a half game back. Even without Stern's zebras, I don't think they have much chance against the Thunder. But against the Spurs? They're a live dog. At any rate, it is amazing that a team that has gotten virtually nothing from shooting guard all season long (worst in the league at that position) and mediocre returns from small forward until very, very recently has a good chance of making the playoffs in the hyper-competitive West. In unrelated news, is Charlotte the worst NBA team of all time? By scoring margin, they are, and by winning percentage, they're in the bottom 2-3 ever.
They lost by 30 at home to a team the Wizards beat on the road. More proof that just because you played and made a lot of money, does not mean you know shit about how to run a basketball team. How embarrassing is it to get into an altercation with your 68 year old coach? Good for Silas. Some of the guys in the NBA care more about how much money they make than how many games they win.
I mean, when Boston played them, they told Pierce and Garnett not to bother even making the trip. That's pretty bad. I don't think this is a conclusion that you can actually draw from this season. Maybe his tenure as a whole. But the Bobcats very consciously got worse this season. I don't know if they envisioned being this bad, but it certainly was no accident. Now if in three years, if at least two of Boyimbo, Walker, and this year's draft pick aren't reliable NBA starters, then you're right.
Word is Silas jumped all over Thomas because after they just got their asses kicked for the 17th game in a row, Thomas was out laughing and hi-fiving Celtics players on the court. It started off with Silas suggesting that Thomas should wear a ski mask if we has going to rob the team for his salary and it escalated from there. He told Thomas not to stand up, and when he did, he shoved him. Shit, my coach in high school wouldnt let us speak in the locker room OR on the bus ride home if we lost. No music, no headphones, no conversation, just silent reflection on the shame we just brought upon ourselves, our school and our families by losing. Talk about a lose/ lose for Thomas. You either beat a 70 year old dude or get beat by one. I got in a fight on a golf course in Boca one time and that was the only thing that kept running through my mind. You just gotta do what Pedro did to Zimmer that one time...push them down and hope they dont get back up.
On one hand, Tyrus Thomas is playing like absolute dogshit (even compared to his other years). On the other, what does Silas expect? this year's (and next year's) Bobcats are essentially lambs being led to slaughter. Management are sending them out every night underequipped and with the full expectation that they will lose. How many nights do you you expect them to act like Droopy Dog before realizing that this is their role?
Oh I agree. But you have to know your audience, if you're the coach or a player. Maybe Silas isn't the right guy for the job then. But you have to have a coach with some discipline, or you will ruin any good young player forever. Once they start down that shitty, dont care path, its hard to get them back.
Pretty sure the last few posts is the most the Bobcats have ever been discussed outside of Charlotte ever... Can't wait for the Heat Bulls game tonight. Miami is going to win. That's cool though.
