John Elway is the Broncos GM. Maybe they think it will help they attract a coach. or keep Howard. or maybe come out of retirement. I wouldnt want Shaq handling my lunch order much less my team.
It's hard to argue with Lebron's logic: If the referees would have done their job and issued a Flagrant 2 to Hansborough, he would have been out of the game and therefore, Haslem would not have fouled him and both would be playing tonight. The Heat have sent a tape to the league office showing about a dozen plays in the playoffs and reg season this year where the Pacers have fouled Heat players in the head, including a Flagrant 1 on Hansborough earlier in the year.
Yes, but John Elway graduated from Stanford and generally can the impression of competence and intelligence throughout his career. Shaq is....Shaq.
Bullshit. Pscho T touched the ball. He actually had a good block on the ball, there was some follow through. Plus Wade was cut with a finger nail. You really don't need THAT much effort to cut someone with a finger nail on the face where the skin is thin. C'mon! C'MON! Haslem straight went for all of shoulder, body and arm. The ball was far to his right and didn't even go for it. They called it perfectly after. Flagrant 1 on Psycho T and Flagrant 2 + Suspension on Haslem. God, I wish Miami and their fans would cry more. "They've been bulling us all season daddy! Make them stop! Wah! Waaaah!" ALSO...we need a game 7. DUH! The league is losing money with all these game 5s and sweeps.
So if Haslem's left arm would have been 3" to the left, it would have been fine? The intent was the same on both ends. The league changed the calls on both fouls. Both were bumped to Flagrant 2's, but Haslem was suspended. Where is the logic in that? I have said all along that Haslem deserved to be suspended. But if both fouls were called the same in the game, and bumped the same after the game, why 1 suspension and not 2?
One actually tried to make it less obvious? I think he should be rewarded for BLOCKING THE SHOT. He made a basketball play and THEN some. As opposed to going for a direct act of violence. It is different and therefore is a difference. Most blocks go up with 1 hand, as Pscho T did. How many outside the paint blocks go up with two hands and have both hands come down like that? ZERO. Perimeter blocks use one hand to reach maximum height that swats down. Haslem went up with both hands that came down on the perimeter, which wasn't even disguised as a basketball play. It wasn't a basketball play and then some.
Less obvious? Really? Thats the best you can come up with? So if you touch the ball, you can do whatever you want after that? Kick him in the balls, punch his gf, spit on his kids? Weak sauce. Indy only has to worry about basketball for about 18 more minutes. After that, it's all over but the shouting.
If someone's girl or children are on the court, fair game. No, don't get out of pocket. It one motion, with one body part, in the heat of that specific moment, he made a play on the ball, brought his hand down, and happened to cut his face with a fingernail. If he bit his nails, there wouldn't be any blood and no flagrant 2. Stop it, you're sounding like Skip Bayless and making me sound like Stephen A. Smith.
Random awesomeness. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2012/5/23/3038555/kobe-bryant-lakers-michael-jordan-nba-playoffs-2012" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2012/5/23/3 ... yoffs-2012</a> I've missed the last few days of the playoffs. I'm still in Family Law class now, but hopefully I'll have time to get home before this game ends.
Somewhat crazy stat from Game 6: In the 40 minutes Roy Hibbert was on the court, the Pacers outscored the Heat by 13. In the 8 (!) he wasn't, the Heat outscored the Pacers by 25.
Goddamn you, Indiana. Conference Finals: Heat in 5 Boston couldn't do it last year(or even come close for that matter), now the "old Big 3" are all a year older and have no rest going into the series. The only reason it isn't a sweep is because I think the Rondo factor will snatch Boston a game at some point. Spurs in 7 I really don't know about this one. I'm going with Spurs because they have the experience. It could easily go either way though. The only thing that would surprise me is if this series is only 4 or 5 games. I cannot wait for this series to start.
Exactly like you thought it would. The Celtics looks poised yet old and the Sixers looked nervous and young. Boston wins in Boston & Philly woulda won in Philly. If i was OKC, id be kinda nervous. They did everything about as well as they could, and the Spurs kinda looked like crap but still won. Gonna be a great series.
I kinda had the same feelings. The Thunder played well (with the exception of not stopping Ginobli from getting into the paint) and still lost. Last night made me wonder if the Thunder can beat the Spurs if the Spurs aren't having an off night. And the Spurs don't have many off nights.
Here's Kevin Garnett being uncharacteristically-kind-of-nice: <a class="postlink" href="http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/05/28/kevin-garnett-feels-chris-boshs-pain-he-had-that-injury/related/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/ ... y/related/</a> I'm really going to miss KG when he's gone(can't be more than 1-3 years now). Not for shit like this, but for being a fucking madman on the court. He's by far my favorite Celtic.
Spurs fact: They have won 19 in a row. That means that the last time they lost, taxes still had to be filed.
By the time the third quarter is over, a Celtics player or coach will be t'd up for sneezing impolitely. Absent terrible officiating, Celtics would be leading at half. Not even borderline calls: three technicals that shouldn't have been, and Joel Anthony's bucket that shouldn't have been. Edit: well at least they got something right.
Boston is turning this into their style of game. Should be interesting if Miami tries to start running again and turns it up in the 4th.
