Kind of regretting turning this game on. I'm not even an OKC fan, I just like Durant and Westbrook. They look frustrated and a little lost.
You know what's gonna be fun? All the inevitable Jordan comparisons. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
LBJ just said he made "a difficult decision to leave Cleveland." I really don't think that was the difficult part of the decision.
I did see some chick in a really tight shirt that read "STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN." She'll probably be in the Heat locker room "congratulating" LeBron within the hour.
Today we learned that the world is a cruel, evil place. I was trying to find a video of Satan's reaction to Christ dying in The Passion of the Christ to fully express how I felt the last few minutes of the game, but Youtube doesn't have just that scene. In all seriousness though, good for them. The way they played these last four games, they deserve it.
On the bottom of the trophy. Spoiler *Derrick Rose was injured in the first round of the NBA Playoffs with a torn ACL.
Congrats to the Heat. The diehard Marquette fan in me is happy to see Wade get another ring and I like Norris Cole. Lots of Lebron storylines swirling about, but I think below most summarizes my feelings. Mind you Drew Magary is by no means an unbiased sports journalist, but I like his fan's take... And for the record, I've never been a fan. I disliked him in Cleveland and thought he was a douche back then, the Decision just brought more people into my camp. I'm kind of excited to see what the pain and heartbreak inspires out of Durant.
The irony is that while I like him just fine, Drew Magary unquestionably has said shittier things than LeBron James, publicly. But because he's a sort of bro-y chubby dude who writes well, Deadspin types won't point out that he's kind of a douche, especially when he admits that he took a bunch of easy, pointless pot-shots.
Hmm, possibly. It just seems a bit hypocritical of him to get on LeBron for what is basically some understandable smugness, when there are so many awful athletes out there. Also, I should say, props to Kevin Durant for being a reasonable human being, even if it makes me think of this article: http://www.theonion.com/articles/pro-at ... eing,1477/
I was surprised by the over and above level of class shown by OKC. Even Perkins and Fisher and Harden, whom I thought all might be a little pissy were standup guys after the game. And especially Scotty Brooks, who recognizes that with all their young guys, that wont be the last time theyre in the Finals.
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8084669 Mark Cuban spends about five minutes telling Skip that he's a moron. Looked like he wanted to knock him out for half of it as well.
