I didn't know I needed this until I just saw it... https://cf-e2.streamablevideo.com/v...-wM1/WkQBAdzK3DTiL4PBD7sAkUlV1B3oiNMpKE0J62o=
It's nice to see it somewhat driven the way it was meant to be driven, and that exhaust note is music. Just need to throw a few power shits.
The Porsche flat-six is one of the sexiest sounding engines I've ever heard in my life. Imagine this, but way better. If you ever get a chance to hear a Porsche RSR with minimal mufflers and sound suppression, it is climax-inducing. I'm planning on heading to the 24 Hrs of Le Mans next year... can't wait... it's been way too long since I've been at a serious race track.
I was at Laguna Seca for the Historics a few years ago. As I walked through the pits I saw two 935s to my left just as another one coughed to life on my right. Then another started and another and another! I was surrounded by four 935s at full chat. It was indeed positively orgasmic. If you like old rsace cars you must go the the Historics - everything from Allards to Zagatos and Porsches galore.
Yep, been there, when Porsche was the focus. The old Can-Am cars running the track was just insane. The only 2 things left on my racing bucket list are Goodwood and Le Mans.
You can always go to the 24 Hours of Lemons (or LeMons), if you can't get to Le Mans. You might enjoy these articles. In addition being the Rock Hall of Fame former drummer for Rush, Neil Peart is also an author. A couple of his books are collections of essays or travel journal entries that he wrote, but he keeps them on his website. Here are a couple about the LeMons race: http://www.neilpeart.net/index.php/space-for-news-items/bamm-bamm-and-lemon-slug/ http://www.neilpeart.net/index.php/space-for-news-items/february-2015-return-lemon-slug/
Been there, helped build a car for one (at Thunder Hill) but didn't get a chance to race it. I've also read all of Peart's books, and highly recommend them. Lemons was a big deal in the racing community when it first came out... lots of fun, and lots of "they crushed my car" horror stories after the first round of cheating. It's a fucking blast!
That is bloody awesome. For a moment I thought that truck had a stuck throttle. Then I realized he was just standing on it and hoping it crossed the finish line. I didn't even know they raced those on-road.
I know, right? I thought... "oh, Baja trucks just fucking around... no big deal", and then I saw them take those fucking corners... huge set, and major grip... it's like a Baja truck with slicks. I would watch the fuck out of this series if I could get it.
Picked up a super clean 1969 Cougar last week. Going to blast it and refinish it for sale in the next few month. 351W, top loader, posi etc Gonna do an Eliminator clone.
Nice! Cougars are cool as hell. I had a 1970 XR7 and loved it. Finding one with a 4 speed is amazing.
