Redoing the electrical on the pontoon, the blower quit, and that turned into fixing all of this...

Wire nuts on exposed marine wiring, that’s a new level I haven’t personally witnessed before.

That nest of wires gives me high blood pressure, wire and cable management isn’t hard but for some people it might as well be climbing Mount Everest.

Hell, I just started, after picture coming, sometime.

I knew it was really bad, but everything did work when I bought it. A lot of it is dead wire that didn't get removed when the last person worked on it.

There, all done... I went ahead and built that new boat around it while I was at it.

    Nothing gets by ya.

I wasn't going to put a ton of effort into it, just make it safe and functional and a little cleaner.

Then @Nettdata has forced my hand and I'm going to have to do something impressive to take a picture of. My Amazon order with my new fuse bus, heat shrink terminals and such will be here Thursday.

Ford 5.4L v3 with a 6r80 transmission on it. Engine already has the spark plug change to stop them breaking in the engine, cam phasers swapped, tranny has been flushed and serviced, everything good on it. Anything else I should know about this particular engine/Trans combo?

Fuel pump driver modules go bad fairly regular, did the timing chains get swapped when the phasers were done?

Sounds like the most common issues have been addressed, Dixie may have more insight but those are the top issues we see here and Government employees are hard on equipment.

This isn't an after post, more of a how-it-started vs how-its-going post. About 25% complete, I would say I am.

    This...

    Screenshot_20220408-131954~2.png

is turning into something clean and safe...

    Screenshot_20220408-131904~2.png

This is really just me getting everything where I want it. I will still need to do things like swap in a bigger wire for the main positive into that bus. That itty-bitty 12 gauge should NOT have been used to power all of those circuits, but it did.

Terminals are heat-shink ring terminals with additional heat-shrink extending two inches from the terminal.

    Screenshot_20220408-131926~2.png

After I get all the circuits done, I'll look at what each will consume and the wire sizes within each circuit to switch out for appropriate sized fuses. Tie all the wires into a nice secure bundle, out of the way so I can use the storage under the console.

Nice job. Surprised you’re not using marine breakers. We used to use them on our race cars, swapped out the fuses and replaced it. More weatherproof (race cars get way wetter inside everything in the rain than people would believe) and you can just reset instead of not have a spare fuse or penny.

I don't think they make a lot of sense in this situation. In a storage area where they can get switched off or on by shifting stuff, I liked the covered fuse bus better. Hell, not even these $100k newer tritoons use breaker switches. I did use them when I built out a distribution panel for our sailboat, like this..
