So the compressor clutch shit the bed. So it looks to be half as cheap to buy the whole compressor then to buy just the clutch.

But alldata isn't telling me how to do it. I hope it is just the center nut, and i don't need the special puller then some ac clutches need.

Wait, so you're planning to replace the compressor or just the clutch?

Just the clutch. I can only find a part number for the Ford clutch, but it is twice as much as an aftermarket compressor with clutch. So might as well buy the compressor and take off the clutch.

It's probably going to have a bolt, and then maybe a snap ring.

Beware that there will probably be a shim under the outer part of the clutch to set clearance. Don't lose it.

Well if any of you have to change an ac clutch, it is slightly different then normal, there are 2 snap rings. Pictures to follow tomorrow.

    - take the bolt off, then the face plate
    - take the first snap ring off, then you have to take the pulley off the coil
    - once you have the pulley off, there are 2 snap rings, the small one in the middle, then a larger one. Take the larger one off
    - once you have the 2nd snap ring off, the coil comes right off

Well, I might need to eat a little crow here. Finally saw the new C8 Z06 in person and well, yeah, I like it a lot.

I'd love to drive one, I'm just not sure I'd buy one. It's hands down a fucking blast to drive, no doubt.

No red dots. It is one hell of a performance auto. Plus it is one where the AC, electric windows, radio and other accessories are all going to work as they are systems out of million unit production vehicles. Regardless of what you may think about GM products, the reliablility is decades ahead of most European builders.

Whats the best way or company to get insurance for a collector car that's worth way more than the blue book is saying? I hear Haggerty bandied about online. Ive not r done anything over state minimum for my cars in the past few years as theyd all be totaled in anything above a fender bender.

I had to get a declared value policy for my car. Basically you say “it’s worth this” and they agree and you pay the appropriate premiums for that value payout.

Not sure what specific companies do that, but ICBC was my province mandated insurer for that one.

I use LaRue for the Nova and Z06. Just under $100 per month for both cars.

I had something weird happen with a trailer tire. I had a flat on a tandem axle boat trailer. Completely flat, both beads broken loose and just flopping on the rim. I didn't notice until I needed to pull the boat in hurry because we were leaving for a road trip. I didn't have time to fix it before, just decided I'd do it on the flat and replace the tire when I get home.

I load the boat, pull it back up in the yard and leave for a week.

I come back and go out to look at it and fix it, and the tire is back on the rim, like it should be. It's not completely inflated but it is no longer flat, flat. But it is also full of water... and probably sand from the dirt ramp.

I guess it was full of water, hit a bump just right when pulling it out and it forced the sidewalls of the tire out enough to seal it back on the rim.

Yup, that's what happened. Something had to increase pressure inside enough to seat the beads. Pretty lucky, actually.

You and I have differing definitions of lucky. I have a tire 'inflated' with water.

Does anyone have experience or opinions on some of the e-motorcycles around? Anyone with knowledge of the e vehicle incentives? I have been reading here.... https://goelectric.oregon.gov/incentives-rebates

I'm looking at the Zero bikes currently. I even found a dealer nearby that sells some 2021+ used models starting around 12k. Some of these rebates are good for used vehicles. And I guess hubs won't know til he test drives, but anyone aware of a model that is great for the tall dudes? Like approximately 6'9" or so....

I am not a motorcycle person. In fact, if you told me a few years ago that I'd be shopping and doing market research about models, I'd say you were nuts. But here we are. Hubs has more background and experience with bikes but the electric bike thing is totally uncharted territory.

I mean, I have an ebike, I get that. I guess these are official terms now. Electric motorcycles is what I am inquiring about.
