Finally got the order for my wheels in. In two weeks, I'll have these on my car: Vossen CV5 20"X 10.5 all around concave. I'm getting some Nitto Invo's 255/30/20 or some NT555's to wrap them in.
Sure, in two weeks time you will be on here again saying "They fuckers still haven't gotten them in!"
God I hope not, I would cancel my order altogether if it came to that. I've been waiting five months for them to tell me the mold for the front wheels was not holding up well. So I had to go with the 4X10.5. I have shipping numbers for all of the wheels, so it shouldn't come to that. I'll post pictures of the finished product in two weeks when I get back from predeployment training for ten days.
Does anyone have any advice regarding the cheapest way to fix what seems to be a torn front-bumper bracket? Only a part of the front bumper is jutting out of place (The part closest to the wheel well) and I'd rather not pay the huge fees to buy the bumper and get a mechanic to put it back on. Edit: NM: Popped that sucker back into place. We'll see how that goes.
My wife's 2003 protege is ill. For some reason the a/c p/s belt keeps coming off of the a/c pulley. I have tried multiple belts and they all appear to be too wide for the a/c pulley. This is what it looks like with the belt tensioned. http://www.imgur.com/GD7mv.jpeg
There are two different engine's in the protege 1.6L and 2.0L. 1.6L has a 4 rib belt 2.0L has a 5 rib belt so the belt for the 2.0L would be a bit two wide for the 1.6L not to mention 6" longer. 4040395 a/c p/s belt for the 1.6L 4050457 a/c p/s belt for the 2.0L
We have the 2.0. I watched them look it up on the computer and the proper engine and car info was correct We have tried Gates, Duralast, Masterpro and now a Gatorback and they all look too wide. Makes no sense to me
So we took my 2012 Toyota Tacoma in for its 5k service, and the wife fell in love with the new Camry. Long story short, we traded in her 2010 Honda Accord for a 2012 Toyota Camry SE. It pains me to say it, as I hate to spend a dime, but the new Camry beats the Honda by leaps and bounds. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.
In 2010, most reviewers thought of the Accord as the 5th best midsize coupe/sedan option. It still lags, and most reviewers don't think much of the Camry. A Mazda6, Ford Fusion and even the Sonata might have been worth a look. If she likes it, though, that's really all that matters. Hope it drives well for her.
I am upgrading my truck soon and we have narrowed it down to the Nissan Frontier & Titan. I want the Titan but my wife wants the Frontier. Any opinions on either truck?
True on the mileage. Worse than my Tahoe, and I didn't think that was possible. Unless you really need the larger size, I'd advise the Frontier. I've had my Titan 2.5 years and still hae a hard time judging the front when parking.
If you want a full sized SUV or Pickup, I would look to a domestic brand. A Ford, GMC/Chevrolet or Dodge. The Titan or Tundra and the SUV equivalents are really like a 5/9 ton pickup. They do not have the gas mileage or soft ride of a 1/2 ton pickup, nor do they pull like a 3/4 ton pickup. The Japanese did not want to build two sized vehicles to cover that range so they built one to split the difference and in my opinion failed at both. As far as a frontier, well the small pickup choices are now just the Frontier or a Tacoma. I am sure both are probably well built and if you opt for a 6 cylinder, they both are probably gas hogs.
Gas mileage isn't a big deal to me. My normal commute is 14 miles, round trip. I have looked at all of the domestic trucks but from what I saw, the Nissan has everything they do at a lesser price.
Anyone here ever owned a Mercedes? If so how was the experience? Mostly wondering how reliable the car was.
Careful. This is exactly what I said before I bought my F150, then realized I didn't want to drive it anywhere because I could literally watch the gas hand move under normal driving conditions. But, if you have your heart set on a big truck, I guess a Titan is as good as any. As mentioned before, I got a 2012 Tacoma Prerunner with a 4-cylinder, and I couldn't be happier. A friend of mine has a V6 4x4 Tacoma, and he's getting like 14-15 mpg in the city. It's a really nice truck, but I'm glad I'm not sucking the gas down like that anymore.
I have also heard reports of the Titan getting 11 mpg. I don't know how much truck you want, but my 2006 Dodge 4x4 diesel gets 15 mpg at its absolute worst. I get 17 mpg per tank with a lot of town driving and 20 mpg when I stay on the highway. Diesel fuel is higher, but I also have a truck that will pull pretty much anything I put behind it.
We will probably end up with the Frontier 4 door 4x4. My wife will be driving it, every now and then, and I don't know that she could handle a full size truck. Hell she can barely keep from hitting things with her Protege. We looked at the Tacomas, didn't like them all that much. The Frontier has more power and seems to handle a little better.
