Well it is making me sign up for my billing info, doesn't really matter since it $0.00, but my problem that when i try and enter my information. It will not let you select anything other then United States for the country. Any other Canadian's having this problem? Is it only open to the US?
I think I'm gonna give the Civilizations series a go. Thinking I'm gonna start it off with Civ IV. Thoughts?
My favorite Civ is still the very first one, partially for nostalgia reasons, but partially for how unbalanced some later titles were. But among the sequels I would agree that Civ 4 is the best.
For some reason I've played the odd number Civs, but not really the even ones. so I don't know about 4, but Civ 3, the Complete version ($5 on Steam) is really really good. Hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of hours good. For $5.
PSN status: Still down. This is becoming really annoying. What happened to 'This week, very soon'? They put out an update regarding identity protection in the North American region, which isn't very helpful to us across the pond.
IV was my first Civ game, and I still love it. I can't really speak for any of the earlier titles and whether they're better or not, but you can't go wrong with IV.
What do you guys think? I have zero trust in Sony Entertainment at this point. There is no way these games will be good. So here's a suggestion. The people affected by the PSN outage on TIB each get one attempt at guessing the free games. Winner gets.. a prize. Something worth it.* Hello Kitty Island Adventure, here we come! *Or not. Whatever.
I prefer Civ III over IV. I hated the introduction of the religion aspect to the game, it just was more annoying than anything. I eventually deleted it and put Civ III back on.
Where did you get this information? Just curious. Anonymous likely behind the attack after all. It sounds like the majority of Anonymous members decided that they didn't want to fuck over Sony customers to get at Sony. Apparently, a minority of them disagreed. This is the inherent problem with groups like Anonymous with no central leadership: they can't say this action was unsanctioned, as members of anonymous were behind the attack (according to Sony's letter to Congress, they found notes left by the hackers that said "we are legion" amongst other Anonymous catchphrases).
Look Anon. fucking did it. They mentioned earlier with some wonderfully crafted PR quote that "not everyone in Anon. agrees." And then there recent PR thing never officially said they never did it they just said shit like "We never believed in doing x, our philosophies never allow for us to do" etc. Two free games is two free games. Good thing is I have a PSP and PS3 so I'm getting 4 free games. They need to release the games because the PSN+ really isn't shit the way its set up. They know they can't toss bullshit out there. They won't be triple A titles but I'm sure they'll be decent. Fuck I hope so. I don't know if I can be very emotional about this subject. I've made great progress in my single player games, and I really don't miss the new Pulse episode. Yeah not playing online sucks, but I do remember I time where I never played shit online and I'm okay. I find it funny people are going to drop X amount of dollars on Xboxes, games, accessories and Xbox live subscriptions because they can't play online for 2 weeks, it's pretty silly when you think about it. Its like having your car in the shop for two weeks and knowing it'll be fine in 2-3 weeks going and buying another car. Oh well. I got league of legends.
I hope to god Socom 4 is on the free game list, makes a lot of sense since it is a 1st party Sony game, they could crank out some DLC for it and recoup some of the loss. For their benefit Id hope they'd let you print off vouchers for free games you could take to say EBGames. Making it download only or having some limited usage BS would kill any good will they want to create. God help them if they are just demos or mini-games.
They're not going to put Socom 4 on it. That'll be fucking nuts, it just came out less than 30 days ago right? Killzone 3 is more likely. They've gotten most of the sales they're going to get by now. Killzone 3 also has DLC to make money off off. Man, sitting down and figure out how to unfuck themselves from this must be a fun series of meetings.

Going back to Mortal Kombat for one hot minute, I was wondering 2 things. First, has anyone tried playing online? I find the XBL matchmaking to take waaay too long. Next, will there be any use of the Koins beyond the Krypt? I've already purchased everything there and still have over 200,000 Koins. God I hope they have some DLC use for them.
Highly doubt it. And I only played online with friends. King of the Hill is fun as shit. I mean, I played online for two days before PSN went offline.
Yes, it's fucking shit, as mentioned in all my posts about MK9. Hopefully, the new DLC fixes the netcode, but since it's been that way for MK games for the last 5+ years... No, apparently not. There is an upcoming DLC though, since you mention it, including two new characters.
Analysts are on crack and looking for page views. That is an absolute worst case scenario, which will never happen. Sony has offered UP TO $1 million in protection to any accounts that get screwed, either financially or with identity theft. The number of accounts that have this happen to them, I'd bet will be very, very low. I also bet the single largest cost of this to Sony will be in their PR. The actual technical fix is probably just a couple hundred thousand bucks (service only, as they use open source software), using existing staff. Then whatever credits/etc they offer as a mia culpa. Their costs won't be anywhere near the face value of the offering.
This makes more sense, if the real cost was a billion dollars I wouldn't have been surprised to see them close up shop on the video game market altogether.
