The welcome back package is available on the PS store. It's a bit of a battle to get the download to start, but its possible as I just started downloading Infamous. Free game tickets can be claimed from the welcome back tab on the left. You will most likely get error codes along the way, but if you're persistent you can get in. I got frustrated trying to claim my ticket and exited the screen, only to find that my ticket was gone. However, after going to Account Management->Transaction Management->Service List I was eventually able to get a game into the download section.
PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE FUCKING TRAILER! Including expletives, tits (a la Total Recall), and aliens getting kicked in the nuts. Definitely NSFW, if that needed to be said. So pumped.
Here's a little hint if you guys want to take advantage of the access pass (play the demo right now + get the first DLC pack for free). Preorder it on Amazon, check your email a minute later for the code, then cancel the preorder (unless you want to keep it since Amazon is offering a good deal on it). I did that and immediately got the code and played the super short demo. Took less than 5 minutes. Also, here's a hilarious promotional tie-in for the game that is NSFW: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.boob-tube.eu/duke-nudem/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.boob-tube.eu/duke-nudem/</a> Yes, the promotional website for a video game is about seeing hot boobs.
Well apparently Geek Squad was right, my AC adapter was fucking with my computer. Thank god that was only 140 dollars to learn that and buy the AC adapter. Back to League of Legends, 2-0 since my return, both games with Wheelz. I know, I'm that good. Also jumped onto PSN and got my games. They glitched at first and I lost the little icons, but you can go back in through the account management and download them. So there is that.
So is the PS store still buggy as shit for everyone else? Also, I'm probably reaching, but are there any other Dynasty Warriors fans on here? The Playstation Website says you can download Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, but I can't find it.
It took me about 20 tries to get in, but I'm in and downloading infamous. Only 148 minutes left. What's the best choice out of the others? I was thinking of doing Little Big Planet for the wife and kids, but if there's a better choice, let me know.
I loved DN 4. When you say you can download 6, is that as part of the welcome back package or for a cost?
Yeah I keep getting kicked out of the store with an error. I did make it in once but when I clicked on the welcome back section I was kicked again. I might wait a week or two so the traffic slows way the fuck down to get my games. Im getting Wipeout and a second game I havent decided on yet.
It would be for a cost, and I already have DW 6 on disc, I just thought Empires was a downloadable expansion for it.
I hopped on late last night and got it to download my two games (I went with Little Big Planet and Dead Nation). I had a few errors, but for the most part, it was actually fairly smooth. Maybe it was because it was so late at night. It did take about 4 hours to download them both.
I downloaded Wipeout HD in about 10 minutes, awesome. What's not so awesome is this game is kicking my ass, hard. I don't even know what I'm doing wrong. I put the difficulty on Novice and on the first race with opponents I'm STILL 8 seconds behind or more. There is absolutely no room for errors. Jesus. Addictive, though. And the soundtrack is perfect.
I think I'm definitely getting Wipeout as one of the games, but I can't decide between Little Big Planet or Infamous for the other. Any recommendations?
After a bit of playing, I've discovered a game mode called Zone. It starts out slow but gets progressively faster. I won't even try explaining the awesomeness, just check it out for yourselves. Very fucking hard though.
Is Infamous that solid of a game? I never saw the appeal but Dead Nation doesn't sound to inspiring either. I might just end up getting LBP just because it's always getting praised. Ugh I hate indecision.
I loved Infamous, personally, and I've touted it frequently here. It is just an excellent sandbox game with a decent enough story to keep you involved, and really I just had fun zipping around the city and zapping the shit out of people. The environment is fun to play around in, and (I think the is most important part) the missions aren't completely repetitive. Of a given mission type (i.e. follow the delivery without being seen, destroy monitoring systems on a building, get the trains going, find a package), the most they tend to repeat themselves is 4 times, usually once and MAYBE twice per island. My biggest indicator of a game's value is whether or not I want to keep playing after I've finished the story. With Infamous, I've played through twice (once good and once evil, although there isn't a huge difference), and enjoyed it both times. The only game I've put more hours into is Demon's Souls, but I am a masochist like that. I'd recommend it, but I also have heard nothing but good about LBP, either, and that was one of the games I picked up.
My PS3 has timed out twice on downloading infamous. Wonder if I should bring it over and plug it into the modem instead of trying to do it through the wireless.
