Alright Final Fantasy nerds, FF Tactics is out for the ipod and iphone with an ipad version soon to follow. There would be more rejoicing if it were less than $16 but aqpparently there are a couple upgrades that make it better than the PS3/PSP version that's $10. I'll probably wait to get it as I'm sure the price will drop at some point like it did for Secret of Mana (which is on sale for $6.99 this week).
Big update to LoL was announced today. There will be a new map where you capture and control 5 posts. The more posts you control the faster the enemy nexus is weakened.
Re: Speaking of Blizzard... Based on the interviews, it seems like they simply realize that people are going to be selling and buying ingame loot one way or the other. With Blizzard providing the service themselves, it seems like they are simply giving the finger to RMT companies and letting players get in on the good stuff as well.
I can't wait for D3. I played the hell out of D2, I think I had 6 or 7 characters over level 80. I have mixed feelings about the real money auctions. Like has already been said though, people will buy and sell the items anyways so at least there is a safe place to do it now. When D2 was at it's peak there were 50+ pages of items on ebay at any given time. I haven't saw much on how item drops will work. Only things you can use will drop? Is there even magic find items in the game like D2? Not being able to have a chance at every drop kind of sucks.
I found a game called Demon's Souls just lying around downstairs today. I think someone that lived in my house before me had it. Since it's for ps3 I decided to give it a shot and holy shit! This game is frustrating as hell. It's very challenging and while it doesn't have a very developed storyline the gameplay itself more than makes up for it.
Yeah, that game is pretty tough. They pride themselves on it too, the difficulty level was one of the selling points of the game. I remember playing through it, and while I had a hard time with it here and there, I didn't think it was all that hard save for one or two of the boss fights. Then I came to the 'final boss' of the game. I eventually gave up and to this day have not finished that game. Also, D3. Words can't describe my anticipation for that one. Even with the latest news that it will require an internet connection to play at all times, I'm still chomping at the bit to play it. I mean, this is 2011; I have a 24 mbps line, so I could bitch about that all I want but I doubt I will ever really be in a position of wanting to play without a connection. Thirdly, this indie game VVVVVV is pretty damn fun. The Humble Indie Bundle is still up for 3 more days, Hammerfight and VVVVVV alone are worth it for what you are likely to pay.
Yep, played through it once already and I'm gonna begin my second go around. It's a pretty fun little mod and it's the best one since Garrys Mod I think.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City - G4 has a preview of the new Resident Evil game. Interesting notes: - You play a member of the Umbrella Corp's security squad, charged with eliminating all the survivors of the T-virus outbreak so Umbrella can begin their cover up. Neat take on the original storyline. - There are 6 classes in the game (recon, explosives, medic, sharpshooter, scientist & assault), and you pick 4 of them to be in your squad. - You're now able to run and gun and it's now a cover based style of fighting. - There is a 2 on 2 multiplayer mode that sounds pretty cool. The side are the Umbrella forces against the US Spec Ops, and the zombies will be a neutral party, willing to attack whoever is bleeding the most. The classes and the cover based fighting makes me think this is going to be like Mass Effect. I hope I'm wrong though. As popular as Mass Effect is, I never liked it. The other thing I find distressing is that it sounds like a pretty standard shooter with a linear storymode, without the wandering and puzzlers that made Resident Evil so appealing. Supposed to be out in late 2011.
From what I've read, each player will get their own specific drop that only they can see. So while technically a boss is only supposed to drop 1 item, each player gets one and they're all they're own pretty unique snowflake. The crafting system looks pretty cool too, which will allow you to break down crap you don't need and can't sell into usable materials (sort of like prospecting in WoW, but on any equipment).
I've been on a hugeee xbox hiatus and haven't kept up with anything at all..Are there any good games out/coming out that are must haves? Any genre.. preferably something that has a decent live option or if not just a great story mode to keep me busy. * I do know the new battlefield and call of duty are cumming out within the next few months *
Gears of War 3 is coming out on September 20. I can tell you that is definitely one title that I am looking forward to more than both BC and MW.
Penny Arcade with a humorous, yet what I also consider rather insightful, take on the state of mobile gaming.
Looks like the Aussies finally came to their senses with an R18+ rating for games. How many games have you guys missed because of this not being put in place sooner? Better yet, will you get games from the past?
Wait, are games like GTA currently unavailable to your country because you don't have an adult rating?
Nope, from the looks of things, they did eventually get it... Here's a list of games that are completely banned, and games that were eventually released.
