I'm also loving the new Deus Ex, I've been playing it almost non stop since Tuesday. After the first primary missions, I spent a ton of time just exploring around, hacking into any area I could find and doing side quests. I love how you can approach missions however you want. I've ended up going with a complete stealth/non-lethal approach so far, but I have a feeling this may be the first game in a long time that I replay. Funny thing is that even though I'm trying to not use lethal force at all, I still have only 2 non lethal weapons and at least 3-4 lethal ones in my inventory. You know, just in case. My only two gripes so far are that the facial animations are a little behind the curve and that on the PC the load times were pretty long. The facial animation thing isn't too big of a deal, and they released a patch after only 2 days that cut the load times down by at least 3-4 times.
Anybody else already jonesing for Skyrim? The news that the game is enjoyable to play in third person was music to my ears. As a sidenote, I'd be pretty ashamed if anyone was able to put together a compilation all of the twisted shit I've managed to do in sandbox games like GTA, Red Dead Redemption, and the Elder Scrolls Series. These games really let you experience some hilarious, absurd situations. I think that's why I'm so addicted to them. Saint's Row 3 is actually shaping up to look semi-decent, too. Buying Deux Ex tonight.
Quick tips for the newblings. 1. Until you're level 20, do not spend Influence Points on Runes. Just play the game. Spent IP on Champions or hell, save up 6300 and buy a third Rune page for later. Probably should just stock up on Champions. Also, dick around with different classes of champions and enjoy. 2. Don't worry about your KDR. No one sees it but you, and its only shown at the end of matches. People only see your wins. 3. Don't go reading play guides until level 20 also. Just play the goddamn game. You can read build guides, but don't really read play guides, they'll fuck you up before you even learn the flow of battle. 4. Avoid the forums unless you want to get hit with idiocy (not our good kind of idiocy). This game has a ton of children in it and your head will explode, 5. Last but far from least...there are Koreans that play this game. Sometimes you will get assraped and there is nothing you can do about it. Just take it, and try something different during the game.
Slightly broad question but I figured with the mix of console/PC gamers people might have some decent advice. I've been playing mostly on my xbox for the last few years but I'm starting to think that with the current slate of games to be released perhaps it's time to invest in another gaming PC (and get a free update to my xbox). I'm not thinking of anything super high end but certainly enough to play Skyrim and related games on pretty solid settings. Am I completely crazy to spend money on a PC when the games are available for the xbox? I've always felt that the controls couldn't be as easy to use on the console but I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong on that point. Any advice is appreciated.
Personally, I divide games between my PS3 and my PC based on type. Real Time Strategy, First Person Shooter, and Turn Based Strategy (like Civilization) I play on PC. Fighting games, action games (like God of War), sandbox games (Assassin's Creed, GTA, etc) I play on PS3. I do it that way because of control issues. Some games work better with mouse and keyboard for me vs. controller for others. And Steam for PC is awesome as a way to get games.
Stupid LoL. All I want to do is obsessively play with Cho and the servers are fucked up. I demand a refund!!!!!
I know right, been waiting in line for about 30min now.... but I play Master Yi. *EDIT* And it's still "OVER 9000" /anger
I think I've finally quit EvE online for good, it just isn't fun anymore, and I'm not sure it ever was.
I still find the pvp to be fun. The thing that has kept me going is finding a good group of guys to play with, if you don't have that, it can get old fast. ps. Feel free to give me your stuff if you do actually quit.
Pretty much this. Shooters are a toss-up as some people find them easier on PC's, but I like the simplicity of playing on a console. Strategy games tend to be superior on a PC, particularly real time. MMO's are another genre dominated almost entirely by the PC. Sports games are way easier on consoles. You also have to keep in mind certain games are sometimes platform exclusive. You can't play Diablo or Warcraft on a console for instance just as you can't play Halo or Gears of War on PC. If you feel most of the games you play are on both platforms, then I honestly don't see the need in upgrading either.
Join the club. Personally the Incarna update killed the client on my Macbook (the card supports Shader Model 3, but the drivers don't). CCP has been moving in the wrong direction for a long time now - towards microtransactions and milking their customers for more money, and away from actually fixing the rampant bugs, balance problems, broken economy, etc. I know a ton of people who quit the game after the latest expansion. Like you said, it just wasn't fun.
You sure it's real? I feel like if the beta was starting it would be huge news, can't find anything on any D3 sites about it though. Unless you run a D3 fansite and got the media email.. Also give it to me.
I can completely agree with that. I have 2 accounts, 1 pvp, and 1pve(science/mining/pi...), my pve account doesn't get any loving at all, i have a high sec tower, that i only have like 5 weeks worth of fuel left.
The way you are supposed to find out is by logging into your battle.net account and it would be available to download if they picked you.
I just went 27-4 in a game with Ryze and we LOST. 2 people left right in the middle and we did all we could. God damn is that frustrating. Hands down my best LoL game ever. I didn't die until I had 20 kills. Just needed to get the off, back to beer and destruction
