The League of Legends Dominion beta begins today. Just log in and it'll be under the game types selection after you click "Play."
Or if you wanted to be a bitch, you would get a full team of just medics, they were always fun times.
Well to be fair, if they all have defibrillators a 4 man Medic squad decked out with LMG's and heavy explosives loadout can be pretty beastly, they can just advance, defib, and keep moving up. Personally I'd prefer at least one Recon with the Barret .50 cal holding back serving as a halfway spawn point while tagging enemy troop positions and calling in mortar strikes on armor.
Am I the only still wildly addicted to League of Legends? I hope whoever introduced this scourge into my life falls down a well. After dicking around I am reasonably good and have a new account: The Puppy Bandit. Add me. I have been playing Morgana obsessively. early/mid game she dominates farming and end game she becomes AP Tank Support. It is friggin cool.
So after taking like 6 months off, I'm back to League of Legends and finally hit 30, so if anyone wants to roll premade let me know (awwwsnap13 in game). Also, I managed to randomly get in that Dominion beta yesterday for the 2 hours it was running. Pretty cool, but it doesn't seem balanced for serious competition. Basically, fast characters and tanky dps types dominate the whole thing, and Rammus' powerball wins games. It makes Eve viable again too.
Amazon already had a deal for it, 20 promo credit for preorder + ebaying the included preorder multiplayer character code = gears for $25. Ive only done the campaign so far as my live is deactivated currently. Beat campaign on hardcore in just under 8 hours. I find that they made it incredibly easy now that the so can constantly revive you and I found myself actually dead like three times. Other than the lower difficulty, I had a ton of fun. The story could have had more, you know, story, though. Can't wait to do insane mode 4player coop I played multiplayer in the beta and I find it to be the most fun online out of the trilogy. It's more of the same but the new maps and weapons keep it fresh. I love the retro lancer once I figured out how to use it properly. Not sure how much they changed for retail but it was pretty balanced back then. Id go into more detail but I'm on my phone and typing is a pain. Basically, if you liked the first two gears, you'll like this one too. If you hated the previous ones, this probably won't convert you
I find this to be utterly hilarious. If anyone remember how hard Demon's Souls was, Dark Souls is gonna be harder, especially for those who bought a copy from a retailer who broke the street date. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/119/1195770p1.html And it appears that Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 are starting the console wars again, with Modern Warfare 3 giving 360 players access to DLC early and now Battlefield giving DLC access early to those of us on the PS3 http://ps3.ign.com/articles/119/1195983p1.html
Yup. Just got it today and am playing the campaign. Some differences but it's like the other ones so far. I didn't expect any huge changes, I just got it because I loved the first two. The only thing that annoys me is I have to unlock the Insane difficulty (probably the same in the other two?). I wanted to start on Insane to make it last longer. Other than that I love it like I loved the other two, and I'm debating getting Xbox live for it.
Finished Infamous a couple days ago, very solid game. The side missions are a tad repetitive but it didn't get annoying, my biggest complaint was playing fetch with the blast shards and dead drops, does anyone know what you get for picking up all the dead drops? Also, just started playing again with evil karma, WAY more fun this way. I was just a bit miffed that they didn't have any sort of new game plus, starting without the glide and being able to ride power lines was a kick to the balls. Definitely picking up the sequel.
People don't understand how to play dominion yet. I think the way the scoring is designed is going to make it really hard to get the majority of people to play as a team. PUGs always suck, but at least on Summoner's Rift w/ the longer respawn timers people who look to pad their K-D ratio are sometimes useful. I can't rage at anymore noobs tonight to stop chasing kills and cap the towers. It's just too stressful. Back to SR.
They have some balancing to do with Dominion. Knock back champions are key, I love the map layout, and GP is even more OP with this shit. Also makes support champions useless or any glass cannons. Either way, the gameplay is fun as hell. I'll mix it up when I have 20 minutes, but I can't play more than 2-3 in a row.
Alpha Protocol is up for 2$/2€ on Steam and it's definitely a game worth getting for that price. It's an 3rd person espionage RPG in a modern setting. It deserves the mixed reviews it's gotten, because the controls are frustrating as hell at first, it lacks polish and the hacking mini game is just stupid. Once you push past that though, there is an amazingly detailed and fascinating game underneath.
I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has a Battlefield 3 Beta code for the 360 that they aren't going to use, I will do something nice for a stranger if you send it my way.
It's pretty buggy at the moment in regards to squads/mics but with a patch or two here in the next couple of days it should be ok. It's fucking beautiful. The ability to go prone is going to change up the way people play, the lighting effects are stunning, most notably from red dot sights and flashlights on shotguns affecting your view, along with the suppression effect. I only wish there was a Hardcore mode in the beta, oh well...
The Humble Bundle is back. This time, they're offering up a copy of Frozen Synapse and if you go over 4.12$, you get a bunch of other games (of which Trine is one I'd reccommend).
I do love the humble indie bundles. If I didn't already own Trine and Frozen Synapse, I would pick this one up in a heart beat. Anyone know if the other games are worth ~4.50?
Apparently the Uncharted 3 Subway promotion starts today, by a specially marked 30oz drink, get the ENTIRE Multiplayer portion of the game. Best of all, your stats carry over when the actual game drops. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/119/1197343p1.html
I don't know if anybody's been paying attention, but the Battlefield 3 beta is available on XBL. I haven't checked PSN yet. Here's my impression so far: COD players are going to find themselves taking a pants down spanking when they play. The maps are simply too large to do solo ranging like you'd do in say BO or MW. Teamwork is definitely rewarded. One team I was on was really more like 12 single players doing their own thing than cohesively acting as a unit. Naturally, we got the shit kicked out of us. I switched over to the teamwork side and it was like night and day. I found myself putting down suppressing fire with my light machine gun while my squadmates flanked the opposition. You know, acting like my class title. Support. My favorite moment was having a team of assault and support guys defending our objective and tossing out ammo and health to keep ourselves topped off against wave after wave of attackers. It ended when a couple of their engineers armed with bazookas destroyed the walls around us and their assault guys wiped us out. This beta doesn't have a vehicle map, so no idea how they'll act. I'm gravitating towards a buy though.
