I beat the Gargoyles earlier today. I had summoned one guy to help me, and I was able to summon the guy who gave me the white sign soapstone (the thing you use to leave your summon sign for others). If you've spoken to him, go there as a human and his summon sign should be there, which can really help. Also, what level are you? I can try to help you take them out if we're near the same level. Edited to add: They're vulnerable to magic attacks. I used Soul Ray to beat the hell out of them, with some help.
Level 17, and I did summon that guy. It helped, but I still lost, I'll try again tonight, but if not, I'll pm you and maybe we can hook up tomorrow night. Thanks.
Yeah, I decided to hell with that. There are too many other great games coming out in November to wait. Plus $10 credit on Amazon with release day delivery pushed me over the line. Now I just have to deal with the fact that The Girlfriends parents are coming into town and staying with us for a couple days right around the time it comes out, which will probably greatly hamper my game time.
Deus Ex: HR. I i have gotten pretty far through, well wondering around anyways, wondering why i have only found one side quest, so i googled it. Then i found out because when i went into "The Hive" i talked to the first bartender on the main level first, that the other guy that is on the second level disappears which triggers 2/3 side missions. God fucking dam it, why do they do shit like that? Just cause i talked to one person first, now most the side quests aren't avaliable to me. FUCK.
Heroes of Might and Magic 6 is AWESOME. I'm a huge fan of the third and from what I've seen from the few hours me and a mate spent playing hotseat, this one is looking better.
So is Gamesradar's: http://www.gamesradar.com/batman-arkham-city-review/ edit: I like G4's review better: I can't wait. I've been trying to cut back on my video games for productivity's sake, but Batman and Uncharted 3 are both looking like must-buys. I'll probably end up at least renting AC:R and MW3, if only because I want to find out how both stories end.
Has anybody else picked up Forza 4? I'm usually a Need for Speed type of racing guy (full disclosure- I hate the Gran Turismo series). This game is incredible. It's the best racing game I have ever played. Nothing...absolutely nothing...compares to this game. The graphics are stellar. The control and feel of the cars are perfect. There is a MASSIVE selection of cars to choose from (except Porsche because they signed an agreement with NFS for sole distributorship). The modifications are easy to understand and pair to reach class status. The fun part is modding cars and pitting them up against others as ultimate sleepers. Right now I have an 812hp 1971 Mustang Mach 1 with AWD that does 0-60 in 2.5seconds. In game, it smokes Audi R8s, Reventons, etc. I also have a two 500+ hp Volkswagens, which are a load of fun to pull on people in a hatchback. Anybody else fooled around with this game yet? Its seriously addicting. I tried to put it down because I just bought my Xbox with this game and GOW3. Tried to play GOW3 and got about 15-20 minutes in before I had to go back to Forza I was so enamored with it...
In case anyone isn't completely demotivated by Dark Souls yet, here is a video of someone beating the entire game in 90 minutes. This is the first 12 minutes, the next section comes up after the first has played. Spoiler http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=x9ymysN3qQ8#!
There are parts of this game that drive me insane. However, that being said, it is a lot like Demon's Souls. Once you've learned how to get through an area, back tracking isn't that hard. It is trial and error: the first time you play through is tough. After that, once you've learned the ins and outs and developed your own strategy, the game gets easier. It is never truly easy, but it does get easier.
WHY DOESN'T AMAZON HAVE SOME SORT OF MIDNIGHT RELEASE? Fuck. I don't think I've ever been more excited for a game than I am for Arkham City and I'm going to have to wait until after 8 pm tomorrow night to play. Real problems, I know.
Yes, true. I just got through the first part of Blightown. Jesus, it is fucking tough. But I do agree, after you get through it, it does get a bit easier. A bit. Awesome game though.
Ugh, Blightown can suck a dick. Seriously, I hated the area like that in Demon's Souls, and I hate Blightown. I scoured every inch of that place to find everything so I'd never have to go back there again (hopefully).
My copy is currently on a UPS truck that is 'out for delivery'. This is going to be one long work day, I am so pumped for this game.
Well, all I can say about LoL Dominion is that I'm over it. I just have no desire to play it. Its fine, but I can't play more than 2 games in a row. Rift is still better to me, only amplified by Normal Draft. I wish I could join everyone on the Demon Souls fun, but can't do it, too backlogged with games.
Is it wrong that I've been scouring Wikipedia just reading random articles about Batman and the various graphic novels I read as a kid? If so I don't care, I'm ready to get down on Arkham City in an hour. And count me in on the "Fuck Blighttown in it's stupid ass" train. Seriously what a shithole, I hope I can navigate my way out of it soon, fucking poison spewing little shits every-damn-where..
Here's a pic from Fallout New Vegas... please note I am running a few mods (Project Nevada, amongst others), but just look at the size of this fucking super mutant (those who are familiar with the game know that that's Lily on the right - she's regular-sized) - that fucker had over 1000 hit points. He took forever to bring down. The other was just a chainsaw for nostalgia (Doom)...
Jesus H. Christ. I am such a GIRL sometimes (not that that's a bad thing necessarily). 40 minutes in to Arkham City and I'm already stuck. Can someone help me out? Spoiler After you scan the bullet hole in the window that the Joker shot at Selina, then what? It keeps saying Ballistics 50% scanned or some shit but I can't figure out how to find out the bullet's trajectory. Do I need to leave the room or something? *edit* I figured it out. Geez. Spoiler Tiny, obscure bullethole in the floor much?
