    http://www.itproportal.com/2012/02/03/ubisoft-games-wont-work-next-week/#ixzz1lJvpsK40

Ubisoft is moving there DRM authentication servers and you will not be able to play Assassin's Creed for a week. Along with a few other games.

Can anyone tell me anything/show me a trailer about FFXIII-2?

This will be the second time ever that Square Enix thought a FF title was good enough to have it's own JRPG sequel on it's own. Not tactics. G** bless 'em. Please, Dog, give me ancillary story to characters I already know and love...

Like I said... all of the people who pirated their games are happily playing them with no restrictions. All the DRM did/does/will do is restrict legitimate customers who are trying to play the game legally.

I might fire up my pirated copy just for giggles.

How the fuck do you even play that on PC? Dude you own a PS3. The only shit you should play on PC is RTS games and shit like Diablo. Problem solved.

Edit: Oh and FPS games because that feels so much more accurate...

I dont play it on the PC. It just the principle of it. Why would i want to support a company that completely fucks around there paying customers?

And on a different note Skyrim predicts the super bowl

    Gametrailers did a video review.
Doesn't sound to tempting, but I lost interest after Final Fantasy X.
I just don't like the style of the recent games in the franchise.

You just made me remember my old PS3 died. I haven't tried fixing it yet, but that is about to change. I have read lots that you can take it apart and bake a certain board, or take a heat gun to a certain part, and remelt the soldier and it solves most the failures with the ps3. Anyone done this before? But they all point to places that want to make you pay for the instructions. I also read that the old ps3 hard drive doesn't fit/work with the new slim ps3's, any truth to this?

edit: the review said a straight shot through the main quest only takes 20 hours. Wow, cant remember any FF ever even coming close to this.

I don't have any first hand experience, but as far as I know the HDD should fit just fine.
I there seems to be a problem with savegames from an "old" ps3 on a slim, though.

I am playing through FFXIII-2 right now. The story centers on Serah and Noel. Serah is now searching for Lightning, while Noel is the last human on the planet who goes back in time to prevent the extinction of humanity.

    A few things to note:

    1) The main game play device is time travel, which means you're hopping though time gates and going through time. This makes the game somewhat less linear than XIII (which is a very good thing). There is also a "live" option where you can ask questions and give answers, and what questions you ask/answers you give will determine certain rewards you get. Most of these are silly little rewards that mean nothing (more on that in a minute) but it does add a little something.

    2) Because there are only two party members, your 3rd party member will be a monster. You can catch monsters as you fight them, and there is a Pokemon element to it. Basically, each monster has a class (Ravager, Commando, Medic, Saboteur, Synergist, and Sentinel), and you can upgrade them, infuse them with each other to add abilities, and you can customize them somewhat. You get three monsters, and you can put them into your paradigms as you need. For example, I've built Noel and Serah as a Commando/Sentinel and Ravager/Medic, so I have monsters that are a Saboteur, Synergist, and Ravager, to make my paradigms work. Finding rare and powerful monsters is actually a decent mechanic to adding replay value. Oh, and those silly little rewards? So far, I've gotten nothing but little things to "dress up" the monsters.

    3) As for characters from the last game, Snow has shown up a bit, and is still kind of a tool. Hope isn't as whiny as the last game, thank God. Lightning is barely in the game, so don't let the trailers fool you. Sazh and his kid haven't shown up at all, and neither have Fang or Vanille, but since I'm only 5 hours in, that isn't too shocking. The villain in this game, however, has been really, really good so far, and every review I've read has said that the villain is one of the best FF villains in a long time. Noel and Serah carry the game, and they're fairly bland, but given how annoying some of the XIII characters were last time, it is a step up.

Overall, I agree with a lot of reviews that gave it a 7.5 or an 8. Its a good game, and I'm having fun with it so far. It is less linear (good), the characters aren't as annoying (good), but it is shorter (bad).

I've seen a couple of ads, but at the same time, the Final Fantasy series doesn't have the mass appeal that games like Call of Duty have. CoD commercials ran constantly, while I've only seen two or three FFXIII-2 ads. I just think the market for the big name series (Assassin's Creed, CoD, Uncharted) tend to have a wider audience than the JRPGs like the Final Fantasy series.

This Twisted Metal Demo is awesome. This game has a shit ton of potential of being super fucking awesome. The controls have a decent learning curve and I wonder if the insane amounts of weapon options you have will help or hinder gameplay. I've only played the single player so far and I still suck ass. They don't take it easy on you the computer AI is relentless. Simply trying to explore the map is tough because once an enemy locks on to you, which is ALWAYs, they pound you to death immediately. I don't think Ive played more than a minute and a half rounds the entire time.

But the level layout is cool, the weapons sound and powers are each individual and diverse, and I think the gang affiliation thing might be sweet as well. I loved the first two and Black was pretty enjoyable. This will be a definite first day buy for me.

What he said. The controls are a bit much if you've been whoring FPSs for awhile. You'll get used to them and remember your previous Twisted Metal history. Weird thing is they took out the car's ability to jump. Which throws off my remote bomb strategy move where I used to jump over cars and blow them with a remote bomb. Can't wait for the game. Also, my last post before I play The Reckoning, but it got a 9.0 on IGN. I won't be able to get it until the 15th though. *sad face*

Pressing r1 and l1 simultaneously jumps the car like you have hittin the switches. Did they have a jump in any of them I really don't remember? Anyway, I played online, it's fun as shit. I haven't figured it all out since somehow I can put some damage on a car and get killed by the same guy in two fucking hits. Actions fun, music fits perfectly, and the basic LA level is really fun. Can't be headed in a better direction. Just need a sweet rooftop level, I always loved those. Or one like the Antarctica level from TM2. I used to spend HOURS timing a Freeze missile just right so that they dropped off the building or fell off with the falling ice. Minor gripe is that the freeze missile in this game is more like and EMP than a Sub Zero freeze blast. Like I said, minor gripe.

That is one of those things where they have giant robots, insane homicidal clowns, cars in death match arenas where if you kill the driver you get a health boost, then stop and say "Oh wait, freeze blast? So unrealistic, we need to change that up."

I am now addicted to League of Legends thanks to my buddy who is a fucking beast at it. We used to play a ton of dota back in the day but I was terrible at it because I never got any good at last hitting creeps. League is dota on easy mode and now that it's encouraged to spam abilities on creeps I am actually pretty good at it. I'm saving up points to buy characters but I've been dominating games as Jax and Ryze. Add Thorgouge1 if you guys that play ever want to do some games, no baddies allowed because unless my friend is in the game I won't be able to carry.

I am the same way. I own a PS3 and a PC and I use both, i just use them for different things. The console gamer vs. PC gamer feud is stupid and pointless and really needs to die in a fire.

Just picked up the Kingdoms of Reckoning game everyone on here was nutting over. I played for about three hours and I'm quite underwhelmed. Combat is fun, but it feels dated both in terms of graphics and story. I just can't get into it the same way I did with Skyrim or Dragon Age.

I think Bethesda/Bioware has ruined me for RPGs. It's like eating filet then going back to a burger.
