Well no, like you said it was only free because of the PSN network bullshit. I like Infamous also, it was pretty fun considering I didn't pay for it. Would I have otherwise? Probably if it was only $20. I would have liked some variety in the enemies, but overall it was decent. As for Infamous 2, it was also good, same issues as the first, but not bad.
I bought Infamous 2 for the full $60 when it came out and was satisfied with my purchase. It's pretty much the same game but everything is improved a bit.
Not free, but you can probably find it for cheap (in the range of $20), and absolutely worth it. I really dig the Infamous games. They're one of the few games that I've actually played through multiple times just to see the variations in story, mission, ending, and powers. I highly recommend Infamous 2. Oh, and however you can play Dark Souls, do it. Seriously one of the best games I have ever played.
Damn y'all going to make me play through my free version AND get the sequel aren't you? I still have to find MSG collection HD for a good price and lay through MGS4 AND put some good time in on Twisted Metal online. Damn grown up decisions suuuuck.
The Infamous games are a lot of fun (though the controls take a lot of getting used to). I also think of them as really great Star Wars games that don't happen to be about Star Wars. You have specials powers, a light and dark side plot, lightning, etc. It's a lot of fun. It's a Sandbox style game with xp and ethics situations.
Bought Sleeping Dogs, thinking it was Watch Dogs, that actually doesn't come out tip next year. Think GTA in Hong Kong, not as polished, with a shitty camera. The cars handle mostly one of two ways and there are few minigames. Yet it's still fun, just rough around the graphics/gameplay edges. 7/10
I'll admit, I've got a half chub going over all the Borderlands pre-order bonuses, even just for the Standard Edition. I've got a Gamestop gift card to use too so why not? http://www.borderlands2.com/preorder/
Interesting article. Perlman sounds like a dick and seems to finally be getting some humble pie, but it’s unfortunate that it came at the expense of so many employees/investors. Maybe if Perlman tried to be competitive and match Gaikai’s selection instead of throwing fits and attempting to strong-arm publishers out of Gaikai’s hands, nobody at Onlive would have suffered. To Metal Gear fans, a new game is on the way: I recently finished Snake Eater and thought it was excellent. The gun fights were a little clunky and defeating some of the bosses without killing them was a challenge, but the plot was good and I found Big Boss to be more interesting than Solid. I still haven’t gotten around to playing Peace Walker, but I assume it’ll fill me in on who the “Paz” and “Chico” mentioned in the trailer are. Hopefully Kojima can make the gunplay smoother and bring a story that is as strong as MGS1 or MGS3.
I haven't played Peacewalker either, but I'm not sure if Paz and Chico are call backs in if this is post MGS 4. Very interested in what the interface and feel of the game are like. Glad to have some MGS back, the super serious, super thought out, yet quirky feel of MGS games are rarely duplicated.
I've only played a bit of Peace Walker, I know Paz is from that. I loved the series, though the second and fourth games got a tad too melodramatic and slightly too out-there for me. The Sons of Patriots probably wouldn't have rubbed me the wrong way if it wasn't for that bizarre strain of sexism running through it. I've always loved the gameplay though. It's good to see Kojima back at the helm, but it might be a tad sad as for a long time now it's seemed like he wanted to get away from MGS.
I'm still trying to get a handle on DayZ. Pm/rep me with your skype name if you want to group up. I am getting better...I looked up the DayZ wiki and have a decent handle on in-game controls. I also avoid the big towns and stick with deer stands and such for looting. Some people say they just go balls to the wall and duck in buildings in cities when they spawn since they have nothing to lose, but I can't do that unless I want to die 100 times.
The FOX patches that were thrown out of the helicopter suggest that FOXHOUND doesn’t exist yet. The mention of “2 fantoms born of FOX” may be referencing the Les Enfants Terribles project. Many are speculating that we’ll be playing as Big Boss again. As much as I like Solid and Otacon, I’m more interested in the premise that people don’t start off bad and simply develop different perspectives. Kojima has done a good job of fleshing out Big Boss and really made me sympathize with this future antagonist. One of these days I’ll start Peace Walker. Yeah, I’ve seen MGS2 described as a postmodern game that elevates the medium into art. The postmodern label fits considering the game openly imitates Shadow Moses and there are instances where the player is explicitly reminded that they are playing a game. Some say that Kojima foresaw social media with MGS2’s plot. The argument by the Patriots that the censorship of memes is comparable to the natural selection of genes, with both being necessary for evolution, was interesting. I should play through that game again. Anyway, the plot was meant to leave a lot of loose ends and I don’t think Kojima cared because it was to be the last Metal Gear he was involved in. He did, however, return to the franchise and MGS4 was pretty much damage control as he had to write himself out of the corner he was in while tying things up.
So we're playing with Old Big Boss in this game? Hence the Fox and not Foxhound? Are we speculating that little boy is Solid Snake? I'm still confuzzled. Yeah, I definitely need to play MGS4 again. Maybe play the second one over in HD as I barely remember much from it.
I actually thought the little boy was maybe Raiden. They talk about him being a soldier in a war as a small child, but I don't think the timeline works out. I like that they're going open world with it. No more load times between areas and screens, just one big open world to explore and sneak around in. That is what excited me most.
I thought the boy was Solidus, but he has been confirmed to be Chico. The game appears to be taking place a few years after Peace Walker. A theory I read suggests that a conflict will drive Big Boss and Zero apart, leading Zero to initiate Les Enfants Terribles.
Does anyone know a stable gamecube emulator that I could use to play Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes? I downloaded an emulator called Dolphin which is supposed to be the best but it keeps crashing randomly. Any help would be appreciated.
Dolphin is pretty much the be all end all when it comes to gamecube/wii. It's very CPU heavy, so make sure you have enough horsepower to run it. The forums are really good about helping you get it configured properly for your system and the game you're playing.
Looks good, but the survival and ammo starvation aspects may lead to less action and a greater emphasis on exploring and navigating through the ruins.
