I play almost exclusively ground war because it seems to me to be the most exciting. I'm surprised no one has posted up their classes yet.

I'll post mine in relation to how well I usually do with them depending how the game is fairing.

    Claymore&Smoke
    Bling Pro
    Stopping Power Pro
    Steady Aim Pro

    Mid Range attack
    M16 Reddot
    PP2000 Silenced
    Claymore&Smoke

    Steady Aim Pro

    Ninja
    P90 Silenced
    M9 Tactical Knife

    Ninja

I have a variation of the above class I'll switch with akimbo Uzi's and dual rangers with Steady Aim

Tonight I'm going to start working on getting better at sniping. I've been completely owning with the M16 reddot with stopping power, now I want to get better with the Intervention. My ultimate goal is to be able to quick scope decently (I know I wont be really good at it).

    Main Class (right now):
    M16 Red Dot
    TMP
    Semtex
    Stun x2
    Slight of Hand
    Stopping Power
    Commando

I'm in the opposite boat: getting a ps3 for christmas. I'm asking for it mostly because of the cross-platform titles and Blu-Ray, but so far the ps3 exclusives don't look too appealing. Here's the short list for games I'm going to buy:

    GTA 4
    Fallout 3
    Little Big Planet
    COD MW 2

I know these are going to keep me busy for awhile, but anyone have any suggestions?

Any sports game (can't really go wrong with a Madden)
Gran Turismo 5 (dont think this is coming out until Feb though)

EDIT - Just read that GT5 may be coming out in Summer instead. DOH!

Metal Gear 4 (include some popcorn)

Dont forget 2010, that's when Sony is bringing the triple-A titles
    Gran Turismo 5
    God of War 3
Final Fantasy 13 (I know it's cross platform but 360 owners are gonna have to buy a ten disc set)

And my personal favorite due to sheer curiosity, Heavy Rain, which may break ground and give us a fully interactive movie. If it can make a seasoned game reviewer almost have a panic attack, think of what it can do to the general public.

I admit it, I'm a camper. I've never been any good at "run and gun" style offense, I've always been better at a defensive style of play and occasional sniping, ever since my days on Team Fortress Classic for Half-life. So far in MW2 I haven't really tried sniping at all, but maybe I'll give it a try.

My classes are all variations of:

    Aug w/ grip (sometimes silenced)
    Raffica or Stinger
    Claymores and Flash grenades
Scavenger, Sleight of hand, or Bling
Hardline, stopping power, or cold blooded
    Commando or steady aim

The class I use most often is
    Aug w/ grip
Stinger (I like shooting down helicopters and harriers)
    Claymores and flashbangs
    Scavenger pro
    Stopping Power pro
    Commando pro

Because of my defensive style (or lack of offensive skill), I enjoy playing Domination games, especially on ground war. I tend to get frustrated a lot though, because so many people play the domination games like they're deathmatch games, or as soon as they capture an objective, they all leave, and nobody defends the flags. It's absolutely infuriating to me to play with a team that only holds one objective at a time because they all move as one group from A, to B, to C, over and over, with nobody ever staying behind to defend anything. It's even worse when I hear people from my team complain about campers, as if there's something wrong with defending the damn flags.

I tried playing a headquarters match earlier today as well, and all either team did was sit around the headquarters and pick off the other players, nobody even tried to capture it. I was so disgusted I quit in the middle of the game, something I never do, and shut off my xBox. There was no way I could keep playing without taking some time to cool down.

Save your money on Little Big Planet. Awful, short game. I played it at a friend's house, and I feel bad simply for wasting my life on it, let alone paying for it.

Is there anyway possible that someone was already a LEGIT 10th Prestige? I was playing last night and some guy had the silver skull and gold back ground. This has to be a hack or a stat booster, I mean, if its real this guy has'nt done anything for a long time.

Anyway, I tried out the Famas last night and I love it. It's awesome when you catch someone in the chest with a burst and kill them instantly.

    I use:

    Famas with red dot
AA12 (or whatever the auto shotgun is) w/ silencer
    Stopping Power
    Hardline
    Camando

This combo was working out pretty good last night.

It's a hack. I've seen it advertised around. Kind of ruins the whole prestige element.

I posted some setups awhile back. Since then I've gotten a nuke (and a nice 31 killstreak as a result). I switched it up to try and get the UMP prestige titles and emblems. Oh, and I'm always rockin the "My Lil Pwny" title. Here is my setup for SMG challenges:

    Primary:Silenced + Extended Mag UMP

Secondary: Akimbo + FMJ USP's (I never use these unless I'm in Last Stand. If they're out of ammo, you don't want to have to reload while Last Standing)

Equip: Claymore (I don't camp with it, just use it when I know that someone is coming around a corner)
    Special Grenade: Stuns

Perk1: Bling (Gives the USP's extra firepower in Last Stand; silencer and extended mag pair up well when exterminating a team by taking the long route around and killing them from behind before anyone notices)
Perk2: Lightweight (Lightweight gives a percentage speed increase. As such it's better on high mobility weapons like SMGs; also you don't need stopping power when your goal is to come from behind.)
Perk3: Last Stand (Nothing like a last stand that gets you that last kill for a killstreak. The alternative would be steady aim but I find its not the crosshairs that stop me from killing people when firing from the hip, it's them surprising me)

Killstreaks: Care Package (4), Predator (5), Emergency Airdrop (8)
Care packages can potentially win games. If you get a Pavelow, AC130 or Chopper gunner, the other team might as well pack up and go home. Predator can be used to get you emergency airdrop, but remember it can also single handedly destroy any killstreak reward.

LBP is awesome, really not sure why this guy hated it. It won several awards and imo is fun as hell.

Don't know if anyone else is doing this, but I started a couple games ago and it works perfect. When playing domination, equip the c4, then when you get to one of the domination points put the C4 in the area. As long as you dont die, then when you hear that you are losing the point that the C4 is on... then BOOM.

Works like a charm .I got around 30 kills last night just using the C4, it also pisses people off.

This turned into 'the be all end all MW2 thread'.

Tempted to buy a 360. Yet everybody I know who's got one ends up having RROD/having it shipped back to Microsoft/etc. Seems much more of a pain in the ass then anything.

Unless of course Santa hooks it up, then it's all good.

    Carry on.

Agreed, fun to play through by yourself and when you get 2 or 3 friends in on it becomes a ridiculous game of Screw Your Friends Over. Also, the online community is still very active and some people have created some really impressive levels, and if you're remotely creative you can find pretty much infinite ways to enjoy the level creator.

I've had two 360's over the last couple of years (sold one when money was tight but got another soon after) and haven't got the RROD. I'm probably lucky. If you get one make sure you get the newest make called Jasper. It has a newer CPU that is much less likely to crash. Here's how you can tell.http://giftguide.toptenreviews.com/?p=2721

This is probably a long shot but... does anyone else here actually play MW2 on the PC? Or am I the only one?

I'd love to do more of the Special Ops missions but some of them require two players...

I will be after Christmas. I've played it once and thought it was pretty fun though.

Finally finished MW2 Campaign on Vet. There were a couple of parts that really pissed me off though. See below.

    1) Trying to get from the cliff, to the submarine, in two minutes was a GIGANTIC pain in the ass. It took me a while to figure out the right strategy. Forget about the Hellicopoter, it doesn't factor enough to worry about it. The right tactic is to quickly predator missle the gas tank in the middle when the armored vehicle is next to it, and promptly grenade the shit out of the guys below you with cooke grenades. I used two grenades on them, then two when you run to the right through the little passage way over there. When you clear the passage, it triggers the transport truck so pred missle that thing.. Then make your way to the right and pred missle just to the left of the sub. This should get you there.

    2) For the estate level, camping the estate wasn't the issue for me (claymores + noob tube from upstairs works wonders), it was making down the hill when it was getting mortared that REALLY pissed me off. It took a good 20 tries or so (and only twice for actually camping that house).

    3) On the last mission, getting through the bunker where they initially find you, and the one where you have to flank for Price, absolutely pissed me off. Took me about 20 tries or so. Again, cooked nades essesntially got me through it.

    4) Storming the Whitehouse wasn't too bad once you got in.

    5) Storming the Gulag when you're down in the showers can get a little tough too when those bastards run around with the shields (especially if you were an idiot like me and wasted your nades at the wrong times). This is where having a noob tube gets you through pretty easily, although those gunners on the second floor can be pretty pesky.

    6) The smoke section on the top of the oil rig. It took me a little while to figure it out but the smartest play is to go all the way to the right over by Ghost, and not to follow Price (I think) up to the left. Going to the right I didn't even need to plant a claymore (where to the left you almost have to).

I know there is more that I forgot, I will add some more when I think of them.

So I'm behind the times, and just bought COD4 a couple weeks ago. I've beat every mission on Veteran with the exception of 'No Fighting in the War Room,' so I at least sort of know what I'm doing. Except on multiplayer. Dear Christ, I suck at it. I typically have the lowest or second-lowest score on my team, and very typically have 3-kill, 15-death games. Does anyone know of a good page that shows tips or how-tos for how not to get one's shit ruined in multiplayer? I see these other guys with 25+ kills and single-digit death counts, and can't figure out how they do it.

On another note, I'm home for the holidays, and can actually get on Live through January 5th. Gamer tag same as my user name here if anyone wants to play.

No Fighting in The War Room is the hardest mission on that game, IMHO.

When I start to suck, it's always for two reasons. I'm running too much and not checking my corners enough. If I slow it down a little bit, things generally turn back around. Another good thing to work on is trying to predict where the enemy is based off what your teammates are doing. If you see your teammates dying, and where they are, you can generally get a good idea where they got shot from. Just think logically and things seem to work out.

Oh, and get good with the M16. That gun will help you turn things around.
