Most likely more of the same COD, I haven't picked it up because I haven't turned my PS3 on in 4 damn months.

But like I said I am a sucker for the game so I know I'll be getting it.

Sounds like me. I have zero time for game these days, dropping 60 right now would have yet another disk collecting dust. Ugh.

There are just a disgusting number of games I want to play that I won't get a chance to play. Now we're talking about a 2nd kid, which will mean the end of my gaming altogether. Shit.

I just beat GTA 5 a few weeks ago. And I want the new assassins creed, but I'm trying to save money. Plus lack of time makes for a sad Xray.

I picked up the new COD yesterday but I haven't opened it yet. I'm stuck with a mountain of homework and other life responsibilities to justify spending too much time playing it, but I 'll try to crack it open tonight and hop into a few multiplayer matches and see how it is.

The most I've played recently is some GTA5 online last week with some friends and I have to say that it was pretty damn hilarious. Two of my friends were in the middle of a small firefight with each other and I came flying out of nowhere in a truck a hit the guy so hard he flew for half a block and all of us couldn't stop laughing for a solid minute. It's the little things.

Picked it up yesterday, played a few rounds. Initial impressions are in the the COD thread. IGN gave it an 8.6, so far I agree with it. Guns sound crisp, gameplay is fast and twitchy. All the guns feel good and balanced. SMGs can no longer snipe you. They eased the aim-assist so quick scoping is harder.

Two things I think are really fucking cool. The first one being the AI of the other players call out general enemy locations if they spot them. "Over by the truck" "over in the tower" etc. So if voicecomms are being used to call everyone "niggas" (quite a bit of that last night) at least the game itself is giving you an idea.

The second thing that was really fucking cool is that if you bought Ghosts for PS3, its only $10 for the PS4 Digital Version for when you upgrade, valid until March and all your shit transfers. So no worry of buying two games if you upgrade within the next few months.

For the Canadians, there is a very good trade in offer at Futureshop this weekend:

    http://subpargamers.com/2013/11/08/...game-for-cod-ghosts-bf4-or-ac-iv-canada-only/

Here is a link from their website forum about it for non-believers:

    http://community.futureshop.ca/t5/Gaming-Announcements/Trade-In-Offer-November-9-11/td-p/462113

The short of it is that you can trade in any game and get the new current gen COD, Battlefield, or Assassin's Creed in exchange. I called and reserved COD and Battlefield and will be picking them up over the weekend.

Even if you aren't interested in any of the titles, you could probably take them to EB games afterwards and get a decent chunk of store credit towards the PS4 or Xbox.

Hasn't Battlefield had enemy spotting for years? Or is this something different?

Is the system automatically calling them out or is it something you have to activate yourself?

In Battlefield you do it yourself, then you get a spot bonus for doing it, plus another bonus if someone kills that person while spotted. It's not much but it encourages team play, which is really the difference in the whole Battlefield vs COD debate.

The wrinkle I just figured out, is that instead of UAVs just providing full radar sweeps, what they did was if 1 SATCOM gets placed, it puts people on the map if they're spotted (calls them out as well). If 2 or more SATCOMs are placed, a full radar sweep occurs and the number increases the rate of sweeps. That's kinda like teamwork right? This is balanced by the fact SATCOMs are on the floor and can get knifed, not requiring anyone to waste 10 seconds looking up into the sky with a launcher then get killed on the ground.

Maltob and Chater appeared online to play. Chater is beasting.

Sounds like it's pretty similar, I guess the only other difference is the addition of the Commander role back into BF4. They kind of made it stupid because in bF2 the Commander was also in the field and could play regularly if they wanted, but they could also be killed easily if in Commander mode. I guess it's probably to add balance as it wouldn't be as fun if the best player on the other team could also call in air strikes or cruise missiles.

Ah Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition. What can I say about you that Mr. White can't say best?

I just finished the quest to reclaim Nalia's keep and still loving every minute of this game. Truth be told, not a whole helluva a lot has improved. The graphics are sharpened up a bit here and there and there are a few minor changes. But nothing mindblowing amazing. It's still buggy, clunky and rather awkward. But I'll be damned if I'm not still madly in love with it.

I'm probably going to do the Cult of the Eyeless quest to pick up the juggernaut that is Keldorn. Him + Gauntlets of Dexterity + Carsomyr = Death on wheels. Once I have him, most of my usual party will be set. Right now, I've got my character (just a vanilla fighter, but still fun to play. Plus I get Nalia's keep for a stronghold which is cool to play around with) Minsc, Viconia, Nalia, Anomen and Edwin. After Keldorn, I usually then get Valygar to round things out. This time though, with the new characters that may change. Now that BG2 allows higher levels, the monk character will be stupidly good. And the thief character they introduced sounds rather intriguing. I've always wanted to find a place for Jan Jansen, too. He seems like a lot of fun to stick in a party, but I just never made the commitment. I've heard his party banter is supposed to be pretty top notch, and I'd love to get more of that. The sixth spot that Valygar takes has always been a wild card - Valygar's a great ranged character, but does not have a whole lot else going on. Jan seems like a decent range character, plus mage spells and decent thieving skills. So we'll see, I guess.

Anyone else playing or planning on playing the next installment in the enhanced editions? I thought there were a few folks here and there that were fellow Baldur's Gate fans. Surely, we can maintain interest for this game for another three......maybe four posts.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the BG1 Enhanced Edition, but I would be a liar if I said I wasn't going to get this one too. Fuck, didn't even know about it until I read this post.

Jan Jansen is my favorite character, hands down. Both for utility and his downright ridiculous banter and dialogue. The best part comes when his personal quest is triggered. I won't spoil anything, but it'll really make you appreciate his depth afterwards. Pick him up anytime during the game and he fits right in. Excellent thief, with plenty of gear to augment his thievery, and he's a pretty solid secondary mage.

Valygar is nice if you make heavy use of backstab. He's a natural scout due to his class, and he can eliminate an enemy spellcaster before you engage. He's a great archer, and he's good to go if you get flanked or pincered. Just switch him over to a spear or a katana and chug a potion of heroism or something along those lines. He'll hold the rear until your frontliners settle things up ahead.

I've always liked Haer'Dalis. He's certainly not a good choice if you're looking for a power party, but he's fairly versatile and fits in the sixth slot nicely if you can't decide on who to take with you. His defensive spin is a great way to close bottlenecks for a moment while you quaff potions and cast spells, and he allows you to make use of the awesome bardic items you come across so often.

Often overlooked is Mazzy, who's Invoke Courage ability is a lifesaver in a lot of situations, as is Lay on Hands. She's a better archer than a melee fighter, but she can tank in a pinch since you can put her in plate armor. She's an excellent rearguard, just like Valygar. She was the one who slew the red dragon in my very first playthrough. I put her in heavy fire-resistant armor, used Invoke Courage, and at level 18 she damn near took him down by herself. You know, with Minsc yelling shit in the background.

And for some extra fun, try out an evil party. I chose an assassin for my first one, and partied up with Korgan, Viconia, and Edwin. We picked up Haer'Dalis for a bit as well. This party combines the best (arguably) characters in the game, along with some excellent banters and situations, and a good measure of strategy, as your shorthanded and your characters are all quite specialized. My only issue with an evil party, is because of the main plot it's damn near impossible to really roleplay.

Unreal game, and one I firmly believe should only be enjoyed without constant saving and reloading. Nothing beats the dynamic gameplay and the strategy that comes with not always having an ideal situation, and having to come up with creative ways to deal with shit.

That being said, I understand that's not for everyone. Play on.

I guess I wasn't paying too close of attention to the new Playstation before it came out. When I hooked it up, it asked me to sign up for playstation plus to which I skipped. When I decided I wanted to play multiplayer, the system prompted me that I was required to sign up and PAY to use multiplayer now.

I thought this was only the kind of stupid shit that Xbox would do?

They figured that since Xbox has been doing it for years they can get away with it too. And realistically, PS+ is not that bad - as far as I know they're still only charging $50 a year as opposed to the 100+ that Xbox live costs. I may be poorly educated, but as far as I know they're also continuing the "PS+ customers get free games all the damn time as long as they're subscribed policy."

Admittedly, I haven't been following super closely, but I though that PS4 came with a free year of PS+? Or 6 months, or something? I also was under the impression that they're selling consoles at a loss, with the free limited-time subscription.

I could be wrong, and I'm waiting until I finish my 1L finals before I get one. But that was all what I thought was going on.

I must have missed this too. According to their website you'll need to pay 50 a year for PS+ but not all games/online features require the subscription. Kind of irks me since I really don't use the online features outside of straight playing time. I don't think Id ever actually use any of the perks of PS+. Boo that.

So who's gotten a PS4? I suppose Ill cave after the holidays and buy one but I still have to finish way too many games on PS3 first.

I hear NBA Live 14 got piss poor reviews, kind of disappointed because I had planned on picking that up when I got the system, guess Ill go with NBA2k14 and Fifa since they got much better praise.

Got my PS4 yesterday, but still playing PS3 until some friends convert over as well.

It's pretty good, I'm enjoying it. Yea the PS+ pay-to-play system sucks, but historically, PSN is shitty so hopefully now that people are going to pay they can keep the system robust and well supported.

I haven't gotten around to playing it yet, which makes me really sad. Which other games out there use the D&D world? I know there is Ice Wind Dale series, the Baldurs Gate series, Neverwinter night series. I think the next game i am going to play is BG enhanced edition and then start on Ice WinddDale then to Neverwinter nights.

I got my PS4 yesterday too, i live in a the middle of know where and none of the games interested me, Assassins Creed, BF4, COD, NFS, so i picked up Knack for the wife. She loves the game, and she really loves the new controller, she says it fits in her hads so much better, and i have to agree.

That is shitty so games require PS+, cause i really only use it to play the game, i dont care about any of the other features.
