The Penny-Arcade hasn't written about a game as much as they have Wildstar since they were both really into WoW. I can't do another MMO so I'm trying to not even research it, but the resonate buzz has been great.
Destiny is out as a Beta for PS3 and 40 minutes in its fun as hell. I never played Borderlands, but I'm guessing thing is something like that. The story, score and feel of the game is really engaging.
I disagree, I put a ton of time into the beta but the content was severely lacking. The PvP was really unbalanced and laggy, so if I was to get the game it would be for PvE. On the PvE side, I think they're going to keep running out of stuff for players to do, or that they're going to nickel-and-dime with DLC content. This post basically sums up my problems with it: http://kittenclanclan.tumblr.com/post/9 ... ongetivity The game itself is kind of empty and soulless to me, so I want to avoid getting suckered into buying 80 shades of DLC.
Well, given my work situation (that being working 12 hour days for the foreseeable future), the only gaming I get is on my phone. That said, I've been digging Marvel Puzzle Quest. If you played any of the Puzzle Quest games you know what the gameplay is like, only with Marvel super heroes. I LOVED the puzzle quest games, so this thing has basically been like crack to me, and it's perfect to play on what little down time I have, especially with school starting back up tomorrow. It is a free-to-play game, though, which means add ons and in app purchases. That said, I haven't paid at all and I'm still playing a lot. The purchases amount to ISO (their form of experience for leveling characters) and hero points (used to buy roster slots so you can have more heroes, buy health packs that are completely unnecessary to buy, or buy covers that upgrade powers or unlock new heroes/powers, which is stupidly expensive and/or random). Everything you have to buy, you can easily get for free by playing in tournaments or simply going through the single player missions, so it is one of the few free to play games I've come across that strikes me as genuinely free to play. The main drawback is, in PvP tournaments, you'll run across players that are insanely overleveled compared to you, especially as a beginner, and it takes some time to amass a decent hero set for tournaments.
i'm going to. i'm going to hope the game is what it's supposed to be. as i said before, i played 40 minutes of the beta and it was great. rggt has some harsh criticism, but it was a limited beta. they didn't have the entire game there. what i played was fun, the graphics were nice and i do love a game that loves its lore. oh, i need to buy a ps4 too, i'll be doing that in october.
Nobody in Japan, that's for sure. 23k units moved in its first week. Pretty much as expected, but dayum!
Yeah man, my account name is Mastrovator. Although depending on your location, getting game times lined up may be difficult. As a footnote, loving the shit out of this game. Enough multiplayer to sate my desire to "pwn" bitches, but mostly single player so I don't have to plan my life around this game to enjoy it! Level 18 Titan (I got a couple of days off work to dive in) and Destiny still has me by the junk.
For all you D&D Fans Icewind Dale EE is now on pre-order http://www.beamdog.com/products/icewind-dale-enhanced-edition/
I'm on it, I hit 20 last night, now I'm trying to farm Light gear to get ready for the raid that opens Tuesday
ALMOST bought a PS4 from the Sony Store at a mall because I was tipsy and I just randomly got antsy for no reason. Then the guys explained to me that they (and anyone not Target) won't sell a system without a game and two accessories (maybe it was one). So basically I wasn't getting out the door without spending $560+ even though the system is $399. These fuckers were also calling it a bundle, except there are zero discounts involved. Just beat Heavy Rain. Now just need to finish Valkryia Chronicles, Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3. Then I'll feel okay buying a PS4. Also, I think I'm quitting COD. It's not as fun without friends and I've barely touched it. 4th DLC pack came out and I was like "Oh, okay, I guess I'll download this."
Anyone else finding Destiny slightly repetitive? The graphics are absolutely unreal, but gameplay formula is much of the same after awhile.
I'm probably one of the only people here that prefers retro gaming to the new systems. But for those of you out there like me.... How do you handle emulation? I recently bought a raspberry pi http://www.raspberrypi.org/ ($35 computer about the size of a deck of cards) and installed retropie http://blog.petrockblock.com/ ( a linux distro that has all the emulators installed with it). The computer has four USB ports, HDMI out, and powers from a micro USB cable. It uses a MicroSD card as the hard drive. I also got a couple of USB SNES controllers for it. After about three hours of setup I now have all NES, SNES, GBC and Genesis games installed on it. I used to enjoy actually using the classic systems, but this small investment makes playing the old games 10x easier. If you have any interest in classic gaming I highly recommend it.
I hacked my Wii and put homebrew on it. It was pretty easy to do, and the Wii classic controller is pretty great for playing old games. My rule is that I'll buy the game from the Virtual Console if it's available. Otherwise it's emulation time. I would guess our setups took about the same amount of time to put together.
I did this, and then something went terribly wrong. I'd like to return my Wii to factory settings and start over, any pointers?
