I see there are a lot of LoL players on here... anyone else playing Heroes of the Storm? I've been getting deep into that recently, I really like how it focuses on the team-aspect of MOBAs.
The only one that matters is DoTA. The rest are watered-down imitations, including LOL. Heroes does have some neat twists to it though.

This may be the only time I write the following: It's a shame I don't have a PC with Windows so I could play this game.
I'm way late to this, but I finished diablo 3 recently and I was wholly underwhelmed. After taking 12 years to go from diablo 2 to 3 blizzard managed to add virtually nothing to the game play. The storyline sucked. I didn't care for it at all. The game play in general was painfully repetitive. I'm being a bit hard on it because I had high expectations, but it really was such a forgettable game. The one good thing I will say about it is that the backgrounds on some of the levels, especially the last two areas were fantastic. Other than that Blizzard is going to have to get a lot more creative to bring things back to their former standards. I'm currently playing Dragon Age Inquisition. I enjoyed the first one. Nothing incredible, but a solid and enjoyable game. Skipped the second one, and holy shit is the third game addictive. Huge immersive world, great missions, awesome tactical combat, decent story telling and characters. I don't think I would quite say it's as good as Skyrim, but it's up there. Be warned though. Once you buy this game you can kiss your free time away for at least the next couple of weeks.
Not that anyone gives a shit, but I finally beat Valkyria Chronicles on PS3. Great game, just so fucking long. I wish they kept making games like it, probably the last best title Sega put out. It'd odd how fleshed out that game was, when the optimal way to beat it was to only use like 5 out of the 30 characters available.
I understand how unlikely it is that anyone cares about this besides me, but I saw recently that Dave Georgeson was released from the Everquest Next project, and I just had to post some thoughts on it somewhere. Info is here: http://eq2wire.com/2015/02/11/dave-smok ... eak-games/ I've been listening to this guy talk about his dreams and aspirations for the Everquest franchise for over ten years now, and it is really tough to see that come to an end. I would say that I realized about a year ago that there was no way SOE was going to be able to deliver on the incredible promises made about everquest next during SOE Live last year, but I wanted to believe, and that feeling was one that I rarely experience at 27 years of age. I think the loss of this guy puts the nail in the coffin of my relationship with the beautiful, wonderfully complex, punishing, and outdated world of Norrath. I normally log on around Christmas time for a couple of weeks and grind a few hundred AA on my bard/sham/warrior threebox, but I didn't do it this year and I don't know when I will. I will leave you now, Everquest, but I won't forget you. You represented the best and loftiest of my adolescent dreams, and one of the few that didn't end with ejaculation.
I have played a few games with it. I like the way one bad or inattentive player cannot totally scuttle my game. In LoL, it is frustrating to have someone get ganked early in the jungle and then be a non entity for the next twenty minutes. I just get too exasperated playing LoL with people I don't know because their skill is too variable across the different roles to make for a good game in most cases. I expect Heroes of the Storm to be incredibly successful by smoothing out those skill disparities by sharing experience, among other things.
So, between Dragon Age Inquisition, Pillars of Eternity (a must for Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Planescape fans) and a myriad of other games, this is more or less going to be me very soon:
Last night I was unpacking some of my boxes I recently picked up from storage, and found my 2 XBox/PS3 boxes. Hooked them up to the TV last night and reacquainted myself with a few games that I haven't played in 3+ years. Dead Space, Gears of War, Mass Effect... it was a fun night.
I've just downloaded Pillars of Eternity from Steam. Kickstarter created in part by guys who did the Baldur's Gate series and Planescape. I'll report back with my findings.
Anyone play Bloodborne yet? I love the Souls series and need to know if I should consider picking up a PS4 for this game.
Been having a great time playing Shadow of Mordor for the PS4, but I'm really excited that Dark Souls II, with new content, comes out for the PS4 on April 7. I doubt I'll get much done once it hits, as Demon's/Dark Souls is my absolute favorite franchise.
I bought a PS4 for it, and if you love the souls series you probably love Bloodborne too. The combat itself is very different, but I think I'm enjoying it more than the Souls cautious combat. It also restored the tension of not having too many checkpoints. I haven't gotten to far yet (I'm at the third boss), but I'm liking it much more than Dark Souls 2 right now.
It's like Dark Soul I. It can be fairly linear if you want it to be, but there's shortcuts and diverging paths if you can find them/buy the key. The whole world seems very interconnected so far. Which is something I think they lost in Dark Souls 2.
OK guys, I need some help. My XBOX 360 is dying a slow death. I don't often get to play it because I work from home which means that I'm basically always working. My wife plays the fuck out of it though and she loves it. I can do one of three things: Buy a new XBOX 360 (refurb), buy a new DVD drive (this is the only problem with the system) or buy an XBOX ONE. There is some ridiculous number of games that we've played and will most likely replay. Is it worth it to buy an XBOX One or do I just repair / replace the old one?
There is zero backwards compatibility between the One and 360. If you're still using the shit out of it, get a replacement 360.
