Probably getting a new game for Father's Day, and I'm torn. Bloodborne, or Diablo III. Those are my top two options, any advice?
If you've played either of the Diablo games you know what you'll be getting into with DIII. If not, here's the gist of Diablo: Once you complete the story, which will probably take you one or two days, your gameplay is going to consist of running rifts to hope for good gear drops so you can run higher level rifts for more gear drops, so you can run higher level rifts. Diablo endgame is all about the grind for better gear. Two things I will say about it though is that it's pretty fun if you have friends you can play with, and you can also play it for literally 5 minutes at a time if you want. It's also more or less completely mindless. I haven't played Bloodbourne proper as I don't have a PS4, but I played it at my friend's house for a little bit and it feels pretty Souls-y.
I've heard Bloodborne is a combo of Souls difficulty and exploration and Devil May Cry fighting system, which intrigues me, as I like both game series. I rented and played Diablo III and I enjoyed the gameplay, and my gaming time is usually limited with two kids running around, so that is a positive for me. That said, I don't have any friends that play it, so that's a downside. Fuck it, I'll get both eventually.
https://community.wbgames.com/t5/Su...C-Version-of-Arkham-Knight/m-p/575332#U575332 WB has/is going to stop selling the brand new Arkham Knights on PC. It is that bad that they had to stop selling it. It was also capped at 30fps, which was easily changeable. It is a sad state in gaming, 10-15 years ago you would never get buggy shit, because they did a lot of in house testing, not use there user base as beta testers. Back when consoles couldn't get patches, or there hd's were so small that it couldn't hold much. People still pre-order games, when companies do this time and time again.
I've been saying this for a while, now, but this is the result of MBA's who only give a shit about eking out every last penny running game companies. It is the death knell of the big video game publisher; reduced development time, larger feature lists, immovable deadlines, all while continuously cutting staff... gotta maximize those efficiencies. I remember two pushes to release where the word came down, with only weeks left and too much to do, that we had to cut the dev team by 10%. The vast majority of them are so out of touch it's not funny, and it's the smaller, focused, passionate studios that are stepping up and doing it right. It's amazing how an honest statement of, "hey, we're going to be 3 months late in releasing it because something isn't right and we have to fix it" goes down with the community, and how the big publishers only seem to do that when they apologize, after the fact.
I went ahead and got Bloodborne and holy shit. I haven't had this much fun getting mindlessly murdered since Demon's Souls, the Precursor to the Dark Souls games. I finished DS 1 and I got about half way through DS 2 and lost interest, but Bloodborne has me back in. Granted, replace "soul" with "blood" and it could be a more action-oriented sequel, but still very fun. So far I have only beaten 3 bosses (including an apparently optional boss in the blood-thirsty demon), and faced one that one-hit killed me. My biggest frustration has been the lack of multiplayer. It felt like in any of the Souls games, I rarely had issues either finding help or helping others. In this one im having issues finding online matches. I'm trying not to be overleveled for any given area (I'm only level 20 and I'm in the Chapel), so I can find help, but there just isn't much out there, and a little help could make some of these boss fights go much better. Aside from multiplayer not being very populated, the game has been great so far and I've not played this much in months. I may sink as much time into this one as I did Demon's Souls (around 200 hours over 3 characters in that game).
It thought so too when I first started playing, but once you get the new combat system down it doesn't have the legs that the Dark Souls games have. There aren't as many weapon and build options, so starting a new character to play around with different things isn't as enticing. I still loved the game though, and think it's much better than Dark Souls 2. I'm excited that Miyazaki is back heading Dark Souls 3, but I probably won't buy that one until a few months after release though. I think I'm starting to get some fatigue with the Souls style.
Yes, I picked up Bloodborne a month ago, and I have to say I'm getting a bit bored. While the atmosphere is fantastic, I do find the lack of weapons and builds to be a bit limiting. I'll finish the game, and I am enjoying it, but I am really looking forward to DSIII.
http://www.playerattack.com/news/20...c-disc-contains-steam-installer-nothing-else/ Yea as the link says, if you buy the physical disk, you still have to download the complete game. WTF?
I've decided I'm going to get the Special Edition Destiny PS4. I cannot fucking wait. What's depressing me is my mental retardation with my PS3 games. I'm blowing through Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3 which are ridiculously good games, not trying to explore all the little exciting things about the games. Before I'd take the time to get those 30 headshots or kill 5 enemies with 1 grenade for the trophies. Now it's just getting from point A to point B. The games are still great though.
I mentioned in the drunk thread I finally broke down and ordered a PS3. I then went on ebay and bought some games (A few still factory wrapped.) Now I remember why I waited so long to buy a PS3...I got all of these for under $70 total: Assassin's Creed IV Gran Turismo V L.A. Noir Silent Hill Downpour Silent Hill Homecoming Silent Hill HD Collection Heavy Rain I imagine if I'd bought all of those when they first came out it would've been $400+ .That ought to keep me busy for a while.
AC IV was good, but if you can get the whole series with Ezio, you should do that. AC II, AC Brotherhood, and AC Revelations. Fantastic multi game story arc. And the Uncharted Series. Excellent puzzle/platformer/3rd person shooter with some of the best voice acting of any game series ever. And speaking of Troy Baker, The Last of Us. It was a masterpiece.
Okay, so my brother/house-mate bought Destiny as a demo for the PS4. I only have this to say: does anyone have fun playing this game? It has moments of fun, but maybe just to me it plays like a more pretentious version of Borderlands with no funniness to it.
Also, this is more possibly an Admin-answerable question, but it says to add Steam or PS3 information to join the group there, but I never had a PS3 but I do have a PS4, is it possible to login through a PS4 to access the PS3 group?
I'm about to buy the PS4 on the 15th, the Destiny: Taken King Bundle which is a great deal. I played the beta for like 2 days and I loved it. The game has come a long way and they've even redid the voiceover for a character to make it more immersive. Also going to get Last of Us and Metal Gear V. Kinda bummed Bioshock Infinite wasn't ported to PS4, as I heard that game was amazing. Might have to grab that and God of War Ascension on PS3 still.
