Also Deus Ex: Human Revolution was excellent on PS3, might have been my favorite game on that platform other than Battlefield 3. If anyone wants to hit me up on PS4 (or Steam for that matter) my handle is Darklemming. I usually play Battlefield 4 or GTA5.

I played Deus Ex: HR on the computer, such a great game. I actually played all the way through it, which is saying something, because games lately cant keep my attention.

Just finished Uncharted 3 last night. Great fucking game. Not as good as the second, but only by a little. They got blurry on the villian situation which made it all a bit difficult to understand, but all the set pieces were ridiculously fun. If you have a PS4 and want to play them, they're about to put out a collection, completely worth it.

Now I lose my life to Destiny tomorrow, I cannot wait. Getting the special edition PS4, and also the fun trip of taking a ton of games to Gamestop I've paid an average of $50 for and them telling me to fuck myself and giving me 73 cents in credit.

Metal Gear Solid 5 is a great fucking game. It's everything you want it to be, super over the top serious and depressing to ludicrous Japanese humor in seconds. "Private Military corporations are taking over the world, millions are dying because of their actions...here is a cardboard box to run around in and a chicken hat to wear just in case if you die too much."

Are there any games similar to Jak And Daxter out there for the PS3? (I know about the Jak and Daxter Collection and have already ordered it.)

    Don't judge me.

That dumb game amused my drunk ass for hours on end.

Since I've gotten my PS3, the only games I've actually put in are Gran Turismo 5 and Silent Hill: Downpour. I checked out everyone's suggestions, but I've never been much in to shooters (Though I did pick up Hitman: Absolution per X-Ray's suggestion.)

That being said, CoD looks interesting, but from my understanding even playing in single player mode you still have to be hooked up online. Is that right? I have no interest in online gaming.

In the same vein, are there any good WWII shooters out there? That I could probably get in to.

I believe the CoD games have a campaign mode where you won't have to play with a bunch of 10 year olds who claim to have carnal knowledge of your mother and seem to think everyone is a faggot. But having the online access allows you to get the latest updates for those games. Sniper elite 3 is tons of fun.

But can you play it without being hooked up to the network? Is all the game data native on the disc?

I think the older versions were like that. But all the newer games probably require a connection. At least for patches and updates.

Ratchet and Clank are the closest you're going to get that are like Jak & Daxter Toytoy. I suddenly just realized I don't feel like major games are being made for anyone under the age of 14 anymore like those games were. Jak & Daxter / Ratchet and Clank were the biggest games / series for the PS2. Now Ratchet and Clank are barely holding on. The only other games for kids that make a splash is that one Disney game.

I made it through the first 3 minutes of Heavy Rain. It took me an hour. I got the fucker out of bed, showered and dressed.

The controls are seriously fucked up and I've lost all interest.

    Fuck this game.

Glad I only paid $5 for it.

Are you using the straight up controller or did you get the PS Move? Because I'm telling you, it's a HUGE fucking difference. Also, the game gets interesting if you can stick with it. Multiple endings, etc.

I was using a regular controller and not a single control did what it would normally do, it was all ass backwards.

Well to quote my dad. "Son, you're using a toothbrush and a balloon to steer a car." The game is engaging as fuck with the PS Move controls.

So...I bought Gran Turismo 6 a while ago...

After about 10 hours of playing it, it appears they made 6 purely to make a new game. One that's nowhere near as good as previous games, just a new one simply to make a new game.

Don't get me wrong, if I'd never played Gran Turismo before I'd think this game is the shit. However, I have played all the previous versions and 6 is just annoying.

Three years after the release of GT5, GT6 doesn't have better graphics or anything worth the extra money. Unless you want to pay more for a shitty interface and more crappy side games like "Can You Knock Down 300 Cones in X Time?" Fuck that.

Go buy 5 used for $5. It's much more rewarding.

I don't mean to be a broken record right now, but if you guys aren't playing Metal Gear Solid V right now, you're fucking missing out. There is probably a 60 hour single player campaign as you could play each mission twice, there are so many ways to play each mission. There are so many damn customization options and on top of that, they just unlocked Metal Gear Online which is a unique and fun as fuck third person over the shoulder FPS. The game is just goddamn perfect.

Is it fun/playable/comprehensible if you've never played a Metal Gear game before?

Yes, because there is a ton of optional backstory. Even thought you're using a super advanced tablet named an iDroid, a fully functioning robot AND a radio communication system that has no distance...you get a lot of cassette tapes with oldies and backstory. You can listen to these during a mission (even though it can be kind of distracting) or just sit around and listen to them in between missions. It'll catch you up on the stuff that matters, but technically I think this game happens second in the actual timeline so you don't need to know all the retarded non-sense that comes later.

MGSV: Fantastic, best stealth game ever. Or, best Rambo game ever if you'd rather do that. The choice is yours, more than it has ever been.
That said, it becomes painfully clear towards the end that Konami *did not* allow Kojima et al to finish the game as intended. The story suffers as a result.
