I bought battlefront a couple days ago. Should have checked the reviews first. - It took me like 2 hours to play through all the content. Seriously. If anything it was less than that. - There are only 4 regular missions. - There are also 4 training missions, although I don't know why they are called training missions when they bare no resemblance to the regular missions. - No story line at all. I don't mean it was shallow or sparse, I mean it literally did not exist. - The few maps they do have are tiny. - This is all they give you and they want you to pay for more content when it comes out. Fuck right off. Like the reviewer I feel as if I have done something morally wrong in giving that company money for this shit. For $60 it isn't worth it. I was wholly underwhelmed. The graphics are great and it's a pretty game, but talk about limited game play.
A movie tie-in is a movie tie-in no matter the graphics or the hype. They always suck, with "Rare" exception.
I just ordered The Last of Us. I'd never even heard of it until today, apparently it's drawn huge raves though. Has anyone here played it?
I just played through an hour or so of it. It looks fantastic, but my attention span for games is pretty small at the time being. I just go through my phases with things...for example: I haven't touched my guitar in probably 8 months. I just don't feel like it. Same thing with games. I've got a major pile of PS3 games that could probably keep me entertained for years if I ever get around to playing them.
https://avegant.com/ <--- better, less bulky Granted, it won't be completely immersive as it doesn't block out all other light, but it does shoot the video feed directly into your retina, so that's cool. Plus, since it's form factor is more like a slightly larger set of Beats headphones, it is much more portable and doesn't make you look like an uberdork. It was game of the year a couple years ago, wasn't it? I played through it probably five times, it was fantastic.
Anyone play Wicher III? I just got it the other day. The fucking update took an hour to load! I'm about an hour in and have to say it's interesting.
Yes, Enjoyed it thoroughly. Load times were a bit slow, but the plot was good (most of it, anyhow), good cut scenes, nice graphics. I tried playing Witcher II and it sucked. II is much better in terms of gameplay and controls.
I've been playing metal gear solid V for about two months now. I'll play about 5 or 6 hours a week, and after all this time I am just now to mission 23, and it says I am 38% complete. Holy fuck is that a huge game.
So did anyone give Batman: Arkham Knight a chance? PC version was absolute trash, but on PS4/XBONE it couldn't be better. Just finished the story, and most sidequests. It definitely goes places.
Just finished the main storyline and am now working on the sidequests.I know they've said this is going to be the last in the series, but I really hope they decide to make another. It's been my favorite series of games in quite a while. Have you tried out any of the DLC quests? Are they worth looking into?
This was my one regrettable purchase of 2015. Mind you, my copy was on PC, but I actually had zero problems running it. All the extra tank / Riddler bullshit put me off and I haven't gone back to it since. The combat was more of the same, and somehow felt more dull that the past games. The DLC is alright in the context of what Arkham Knight offers to begin with, but you're not missing anything you haven't seen before. Mad Max scratched the beat-em-up itch better and that was a mediocre game. WB won't be getting my money again for a long time, if ever. If it is indeed the last of the Arkham games, what shame that it went out on such an awful note.
Anyone else pick up Squad for the PC yet? Its only in Alpha, but its very good. Its a squad/team based shooter to capture control points on a map, kind of like battlefield but without any vehicles. Which makes sense, since it was built by a group of guys that used to make BF2 mods. I have about 10 hours into it so far and some Pros and Cons Ive picked up: Pros: -Probably the most "realistic" shooter Ive ever played. The sound quality is fantastic and the combat is very cool. -It has the highest learning curve of any online FPS Ive played before. I approached it like a battlefield/COD game and I got my shit handed to me. Success is 100% built around teamwork when approaching objectives. And the play style weeds out the gutter players you find in other shooters. -The other players are some of the most mature/decent Ive experienced in an online game. Everyone has a mic and are overall pretty fun to play with. Cons: -The graphics need some definite polishing. Again its only in Alpha, but they look somewhat dated even on the current gen video cards. -The point of the game is to listen to your squad leader, who communicates directly with other leaders, to capture objectives. Some times people dont listen (or speak english) so things get confusing and never really go anywhere. -The maps all kind of look the same, there isnt much variety. Lots of open fields, farms, roads, river crossings that are pretty familiar with one another. -Price was a little steep for a game in Alpha, which is a gamble in case it never goes anywhere kind of like Day Z. Overall pretty worth it and I usually jump in to a match or two when Im too pissed off at DOTA.
So, I'm currently playing Tom Clancy's The Division beta and... I have not played a game as good as this in recent memory (based on the limited content that comes with a beta). Plus, it's Ubisoft and I've only noticed one bug the entire 12 hours I've played so far. Nice graphics, plus the New York streets are awesome, Gameplay is really fun (especially PVP: when you kill another player, you are marked on the map for other players to hunt as a "rogue agent"). My heart has never beat so fast in a game. Well worth a look, kids.
Just started playing Darkest Dungeon on the PC. It's a turn based PRG where you explore dungeons, find loot, and then return to town, but there are twists. Psychology plays a big role, as your characters face constant stress which can cause positive and negative afflictions, where they end up skipping turns, moving around in the formation (which can really fuck you over in this battle system), or even injuring themselves. Once a character dies, they are dead, and you lose all the progress they had made. Lost your level 3 character? That sucks, start over. You have to spend a LOT of time building up a diverse roster, especially because after 1 run, characters are usually too stressed to go again, so your next run must be with a new set while the others drink or pray away their stress. This is all complimented by a deep and difficult battle system, and the game is very harsh and unforgiving. My first 5 forays into the dungeons resulted in having to retreat to save what treasure I had gained. You have to learn to be a combination of cautious and uncaring about your characters which is tough when you've spent a lot of time building them up. Overall, if you like difficult RPGs, it's worth a look on steam.
