I second this. Very complex game with some of the coolest and most unique mechanics I've ever seen. For example, I sent three of my roster to the abbey to take a break, thinking I would have them for the next run. All three of them fucked off on a spiritual quest so I have to make use of lesser characters for the time being. Each and every character is wildly different too, thanks to the quirks system. Even members of the same class! If you're a fan of getting your ass kicked, give it a shot.
I may have to make some time to get back into Darkest Dungeon. I think I may have burned myself out on it a bit when it was still in Early Access. The recent reviews from folks who have been playing since Early Access haven't been kind. I'll still try to give it a shot again. Currently been replaying Tales of Symphonia courtesy of Steam. A pretty fantastic rpg from the Gamecube days. I've been playing various Tales games since PS1 and this is probably the best of the lot. The story starts out as pretty standard rpg fare, but the plot twists and kooky mechanics make this a gem of a game for any rpg fan. Gonna be needing to make some time (and cough up $60) for XCOM 2. The first game is outright amazing and the reviews for 2 have been pretty positive. Any fans of punishing, soul crushing turn based strategy should check it out. And I will finish DA Inquisition someday...........
Awhile back I picked up Beyond Two Souls for my PS3 and finally got around to messing with it today. It's surprisingly addictive, I sat down and played for a couple hours which is unusual for me with any game that isn't Gran Turismo. The lead character is a digital Ellen Page as some kind of CIA psychic warrior, the graphics are great, and you get a chance to go full on Carrie on a roomful of shitty teenagers. It was supposed to work with the Sony Move, but I had much better results with the standard controller. Overall, for $14 or so it's well worth the money.
Is Borderlands 2 more fun with friends? Do I need to get friends in order to enjoy this game, or just be better at it?
And yet I have no idea what that game is like or what it's about. Very cool looking trailer, but I find they seem to be getting more and more removed from the actual game play.
Their trailers are always like that in the Dark Souls series. I'm so glad the developer from DSI and Demons' Souls is back for this one. My understanding is this is the final in the series. Hands down, this is the best video game series I've ever seen or played. It works on so many levels. Even the much maligned DSII was great, and pretty much head and shoulders above any other video game in the genre, except maybe Shadows of Mordor.
Wow, I haven't had a woody like that since, well, since I last got laid. Which has been a while. Probably because I get woodies over things like Dark Souls. That trailer looks fucking awesome. The gameplay looks similar, the feel is similar, but the enemies, areas and weapons like different. Daddy like!
I can honestly say of all the Far Cry games, I like the newest, Primal, the best. I highly recommend it. In it, you can: - hunt for woolly mammoths, woolly rhinoceros, Irish elk and other various beasts - tame and ride both grizzly bears and sabertooths - light EVERYTHING ON FIRE - get pissed on by a one-armed man [seriously] - get high on some sort of shaman drink - send a horned owl to do your dirty work - beat people's faces in with a club - ride a mammoth into a group of people and watch it stomp, stamp and trample - send tamed carnivores at people at the speed of fear and watch them eat your enemies - set your animal to hunt or fight other animals - see weird haircuts on women
https://gaemspge.com/black-edition-vanguard.html I'd be interested to hear other peoples opinion on this. I'm headed away for a few months and it makes my Xbox portable and protects it at the same time. Worth it?
So anyone here going to be playing The Division? I know Mastro mentioned playing the beta on the last page, I jumped into the open beta as well. It is the first time I have ever really been pulled in to an MMORPG-style game. I have tried games like The Witcher, Fallout, Destiny and Elder Scrolls in the past and I always thought it was the added detail that I needed to pay attention to that turned me off but I think maybe it was more a case of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre that I'm just not into/ Whatever it is, for some reason, I really got sucked in to The Division. The level of detail in the environment is unbelieveable, in addition, I really enjoy how they knit the storyline feature of the game in with the PvP in the dark zones.
There's a fair chance I'll be playing it on PS4 as soon as the download completes early Tuesday morning. Coming from a ridiculous amount of time in Destiny, the cover system was a little weird to me, but I otherwise loved it.
Two things arriving in mid-April, my second child, and Dark Souls III. ...I don't know which excites me more. ...yeah I do.
In two hours I go pick up my copy of DSIII. Honestly, I think I might be more excited about this than I would be at the prospect of getting laid. Actually, no, I'd prefer to get laid, but this is a really, reaaaaaly, close second.
Guess who's wife's water decides to break on Dark Souls Day? Hope gamestop doesn't go and give out my preorder.
What are you saying? Your wife is having the kid, not you. I've played through the first boss, and it's gorgeous. Combat system is the same (largely) and you can definitely feel the influence of Bloodborne in the first bit. Looking forward to playing through some more tonight.
My review of DSIII so far: This game is tremendous. It has the melancholy and isolated feel of Demon's Souls, along with the difficulty of Dark Souls. The game manages to feel familiar and surprising all at the same time. The combat system still remains one of the best in any video game I've ever played. It's well thought out, and if you're familiar with the series, you're up to speed very quickly. The areas all have a very distinctive feel. There is so much depth to many of the areas (I've played through about half of them so far), and you rejoice when you finally get to that bonfire after the section you haven't been able to beat numerous times. There is a sense of accomplishment to many of the areas. One thing that is different is you can't upgrade armor. While this may not seem like a big deal, after upgrading my weapons along the way, I reached the halfway point and decided to go back through the areas I had already gone through to be more thorough as I missed things. While I certainly had an easier time the second time through, if i lost focus for a minute, I paid for it. It's brutal, gorgeous and uncompromising. It doesn't care if you get through the area, unlike DSII, it will not dumb down to your level, you either beat it as is, or find another game. There is going to be a DLC released later this year, and I can't imagine what depth that will add. One of the bright spots of DS II was the DLC, which made it a significantly better experience. So far, and it's early days so I expect it to get better, the coplay can be a bit skitchy.
